  • Ginger Gilmour ‘ Bright Side Of The Moon’ Interview by Iain McNay
Author of ‘ Bright Side Of The Moon’ Met and married Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour with whom she had 4 children. Started her spiritual journey when she became very ill and discovered meditation. Worked and trained with Irena Tweedie, Cecil Collins, Dr Wenger Engel and Gerhard Adler on her processes over the years.
‘I discovered the answer to the shadow Collective Unconscious including Anima and Animus. I realised I had always placed a shield between myself and my shadow - I only wanted to focus on Love light and Beauty - I discovered the shadow was marked - ‘do not enter broken dreams’ I was a puppet controlled by the darkness.’
In this interview she talks about her life, her passions, her struggles and breakthroughs and her realizations. Ginger now works as a painter and sculptor.

@@Misses-Hippy They married because she was pregnant with their first child, they went to UK's version of a court house wedding and didn't even have rings. Married July 1975 and their daughter was born January 1976 (6 month later). I do not know if they would ever have married or survived long after 1975 because she started getting into all this weird spiritual teaching and followings and DG didn't like it. There are also stories of DG having to sneak to eat meat like hamburger because she was Vegetarian and didn't like him eating meat. These two were probably physically attracted initially but really never had much in common.

@@YouAreMySunshine2 The only thing that you're wrong about is Alice's birth. She was born May 9, 1976, not January. Everything else I agree with. Love at first sight logically does NOT exist. LUST at first sight? Definitely. Which is most likely what this was. Moved in together after only knowing each other for a few days?! Yeah....no. I'm surprised it took as long as it did for them to end seeing she says in the book, IN HER OWN WORDS that they were having troubles very early on. But he wanted kids and someone to take care of the house, soooo...Is it a coincidence that one of David's favorite songs at that time was Neil Young's A Man Needs A Maid?
      ....I think not.

She’s looking for answers and it’s amazing and admirable she’s found peace after such a profound and life changing betrayal but I don’t know that I fully understand how she perceives things. I have heard that David is an atheist and I’ve wondered if that is true. I can’t imagine he is given her strong spirituality and connection to God.

My second time watching this and I can feel that the "wholeness" of PF music is complemented by Ginger's spiritual journey as presented here. Fascinating that they blessed themselves with four children and then after the break, at some point, David meets Polly and there's another brood of children. And there's no doubt that Polly Sampson with her lyrical contribution to the later PF and Gilmour songs is making a valuable spiritual contribution to the whole. The Division Bell is particularly significant in this matter. To answer Ginger's point in the discussion. On the inner journey of spirit to ignore the dark side of life, whether war, movies or whatever, is a mistake. You can shine the light and live in it, for sure, but pretending the dark siode is not there or not real is also a mistake. In order to come to completion we have to embrace it all.

You obviously hadn’t seen her when she was younger. It’s sad when a beautiful woman looses her looks to time and then to have to witness the father of your four kids marry a girl much younger and way more successful than yourself must also suck too.

What a massively boring woman. I'm amazed Gilmour lasted so long with her. It's not surprising he left her for Polly who is far more interesting and creative.
