I’m an Argentine who grew up with Brazilian music from the 70s and 80s, Brazil has many, many legendary singers, but Gal Costa has always been my favourite, she had the sweetest, most comforting voice. And as if that wasn’t enough, she was so seductive, charismatic, warm and adorable. RIP goddess.

Love Gal! Would highly recommend Amor ate’ o fim, an upbeat piece where Elis Regina joins her. The interplay & Elis’ command of timing is incredible! I think maybe Gal wanted to honor her, as Elis had some difficult times, gone too soon. Also would recommend Gal’s album, Minha D’Agua do Meu Cantu, for her incredible artistry surrounded with exquisite accompaniment. Was sad to hear of her passing as I had hoped to see her in person, & dreamed to work with her. Thanks for another stellar reaction! 👍

Gal Costa's voice was really remarkable and unique, and her singing wastruly a masterpiece. Thank you also for sharing such a rare video of a Gal's performance on the late 1970's. I got immensely emotional listening to this version of "Volta", which she accomplished pristinely.
