Josh is such a kind guy--really sweet with fans. I saw him in concert years ago. (He actually performed Not While I'm Around at that concert). After a 1.5+ hr concert, he spent another hour or more, outside, talking to fans, signing autographs. He even gave hugs.
@@bellebellebellebellebelle that's not true at all. Tons of musicals have separate pro shots and cast recordings. For example an earlier sweeney todd performance on pbs...
I've never been a big Josh Groban fan. I always thought he was painfully self conscious. But casting him as Sweeney Todd was a stroke of genius. I've seen a lot of productions of the play, and I would love to see him perform this. It's tempting to say this was Sondheim's greatest achievement, But then other works start begging for attention. If I may indulge in a short anecdote--- A friend and I saw the original production of Passion. It was a respected flop. As we left the theater I turned to him and said, "Brad, we could have seen Cats." My friend replied, " It is important to have seen this... And to never have seen "Cats."
I also was never a big fan of Josh Groban but I've just seen the show over the weekend & let me tell you, he was perfect. And side note: the ensemble blew me away.
@M D Can you explain your comment further? Josh Groban doesn't have a brother named Andy Bernard or is this a joke about Ed Helms character on the office?
We saw this show last week. Amazing. Honestly. I had never actually heard Josh Groban sing, and I kept joking with people "Man that guy that played Sweeney Todd sure can sing!" :-)
My mom is a hige Broadway and Josh Groban fan. I wosh you all could have seen the massive smile on her face when she found out thay he was playing Sweeney Todd. I personally don't listen to his stuff on my own, but I do think his voice is awesome.
God is so Good ! your dream come true fulfilled every wished you wanna be ! It really fit your character Sweeney Todd and a remembrance of your angel dog “Sweeney ❤” I hope this will be showing at at PBS . And also it will be great opportunity if the Hollywood build a theater here in Las Vegas cuz it will be awesomely advantage right? Congratulations and more power to you Josh. 🙏🏻😘
Okay but is anyone else imagining him as Hiccup when he was older?? I’m just saying maybe 20 years ago or so we could’ve had this guy playing hiccup in a musical version of How To Train Your Dragon 🐉 🤷♂️🤷♂️ Just sayin, it could’ve been cool.
I like everything about Josh Groban except his over-reliance on vibrato while singing. If he threw at least a small amount of straight tones in there I would enjoy him a lot more
Sweeney Todd is creepy, I saw it because of Jersey Girl. The Johnny Depp version, the Dougie howser musical stage version on DVD and the musical at the Andriene Arsht, that was enough for me. The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Don't shave your enemies, you may have to feed them to unknowing cannibals.

I hope this will be filmed for PBS Great Performances! Wow!!
Me too
It better be or I'm filing a complaint! 🤣
@@ModernMedusaI’ll be the biggest Karen if they didn’t. 🤣
i doubt it, since they did the cast recording in studio. usually if there’s a proshot, they’ll usually just use the audio from that for the album.

Sondheim was a fan of Great Comet!!? My life is complete now

Josh is a national treasure.
So glad I got to see him as Sweeney and give him my art ❤️
Once again he has to try and show up his older brother Andy Bernard who has the role of Anthony Hope in the play.

@@carolynturk-hu7je correct.
I find it funny how, in a weird way, life imitates art.
For those who don't get this running joke, Josh played Andy Bernard's brother in 2 episodes of the Office.

Just saw Josh in Sweeney Todd and it was one of the most amazing performances of my life! I’ll remember it forever! ❤
Josh’s voice really is miraculous. We are lucky to have him. And what a treat for him to do Sweeney.
He will always be remembered for his work on Tim and Eric. I wanna go on a horse and buggy ride!
I'm so glad Josh was dinally able to be a part of his favorite musical 💙💜❤️

Adore Josh so much ❣️.... he is phenomenally talented... voice of an angel 😇
Josh, siempre tan profesional y su trabajo es excelente!!! Un millón de besos y abrazos para él en su cumpleaños!!🎉🎂🎊❤️
Why does Josh look EXACTLY
like Ryan Gosling???
I would love to see Josh get cast in Les Miserables. He could sing several of the male parts with no issues!
I said the same thing when i turned 42 this year lol
Tu voz es maravillosa!!! ❤❤❤
Cuando una presentación en Argentina?? 🇦🇷🎼🎶❤❤❤

I was there for the show a couple weeks ago lol
Amo esa voz tan hermosa , es mi cantante favorito, bendiciones
That's Walter Bernard Jr, he definitely is trying to one up Andy Bernarr
GROBAN, TE AMO, TE AMO, TE AMO....SEMPREEEE❤❤❤❤❤
Josh you look so awesome in this video 🎉
Imagine singing to josh groban
So sad that Sondheim passed right before previews.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
He looks barely 27!
Cool 😎
Man. From awkward lanky 18 y.o. with a 42 y.o's voice. To a 42 y.o. with an 18 y.o.'s heart. Josh definitely rocks that Daddy swagger.
So his manager just suggested that he plays Sweeney on Broadway and then immediately he is Sweeney on Broadway?
You look so young

Why was he replaced? Dis his contract end?

His brother Andy did it better…
