That's the '00s-style Kidde model. Those usually aren't as low-pitched as the ones from sometime in the 2010s. (at least sometime later during the 2010s) I know that ones from during or around 2004-2008 look like that one. Actually, this one sounds as high-pitched or roughly the same pitch as one of our First Alert ones that we have, like the one next to the lower-floor bathroom and boiler room. That's our highest-pitch one, IIRC. Oh FYI, I think the later Kidde models, often have a battery door on the front.
@@nicksfirechannel8179 However, the Kidde model that's in my newest bedroom, which was made in 2021, sounds a tad higher pitched, just like the ones from the '00s.
@@nicksfirechannel8179 Note that it's only enough to notice a pitch-difference, the Kidde models I were talking about, are not LF-sounders. The only LF-sounder we have is the only one that's also hardwired at this time, ironically, in what was made to be a small bedroom, apparently before we moved to the current house on February 24, 2018. It looked like it was made into a lower-floor apartment. It's a First Alert/BRK.
I have that model, I bought it in 2013 may! But it’s so loud! Also it’s my house in Winnipeg in CANADA, Since it’s Canada it doesn’t say “FIRE FIRE” it says “FIRE FEU” which “fire” in french
I have the same model in our basement we are renovating, I'm assuming it's battery powered as there is no green light and only appears every 60 seconds. It has a higher piezo and a lower pitch voice.
Just called the fire dept yesterday because my CO alarm went off and it was the four beeps but it was rapidly beeping for a while and i had something cooking on the stove for a couple of hours. they came and told us it was coming from the stove. They shut off the gas. Don’t know if it was actually a problem they just told us it was arround 20-25 ppm but I don’t know why the detector would go off ive never heard that alarm before. I’ll admit and new detector was way overdue but our building mngmt didn’t tell us about it but wedid replace the batteries before so it should have been working fine
But it was the first time I heard that alarm go off my sister told me it was green when it went off I don’t know what that means. I just wanna be safe than sorry. But as soon as we heard the alarm went off just opened all of our windows evacuated and waited for fire dept to come is it possible the levels could have gone down from then?
Hi, I am using the same smoke and carbon monoxide alarm, After i run a test on it - the light indicator show solid/steady green light. Is it normal? What does the light indicator mean? Thanks
@Jimson Rebusquillo The solid green light after a test is perfectly normal, it means your alarm is getting AC power from your home. When the red light flashes along with a chirp, it can come differently, here is what the two most important ones usually mean. Red LED flash and chirp every 60 seconds -Replace battery Red LED a flash and chirp twice every 30 seconds -Replace the alarm altogether as it is past it’s expiration date. The model (KN-COSM-IB) was involved in a recall, where every time you change the battery, the countdown for the 7-year clock resets.
I have one of these but its broken Its the same model, I have it as a collection with other alarms and it is my oldest alarm that I have because I have had it since I was 1 year.

Is there a way to stop it from beeping and only talk?
I'm not sure!
I have a Kindle smoke alarm too
Nice!
That sounder is a bit quiet so I recommend replacing that
It's alright to me!

Mine did the same thing. I wish it said something like "test is over"
I wish Kidde said a meassage like that as well!

The chirp on this model (KN-COSM-IB) cannot be stopped, unfortunately. Kidde also does not make this model anymore, so I cannot gather any new info.
