It's not that they 'caught up'; the thing is that all the best talent in the world go to europe because that's where the money is at; had it been the other way around, then the main focus would be in South America and possibly different. The south american talents have played a major influence in football and it's no surprise that it affects europeans as well. South America and Europe takes advantage of one another.

While watching this game at first, I was half-asleep on a couch under a bunch of pillows. But when James' goal crushed the net, I literally felt like I was instantly injected with adrenaline and shot up off the couch, screaming as loud as I could. _That's_ how great of a goal it was. No other sporting event has made me go from 0 to 100 in that small of an instant

I love the way it hit right off of the crossbar, so close to missing it or hitting the woodwork only. And, it was far range with a nice dip to it.
I don't care what anyone says, that was a high quality goal in my eyes.

At 0.22 secs you can see him realize the ball is gonna come to him so he quick as a flash rotates his head to see where his striker is, sees that he's being marked, realizes the pass or flick on isn't an option and so decides he might as well have a shot on goal...all in a split second. Great sports men and women seem to be abe to keep their heads and think when under the most pressure. And also possess the skill to execute. Its as if the elimination of other options gave him the confidence to do what he did. Quite inspiring!

Este video tiene un problema de edición... una omisión: en el minuto 0:25 -cuando la cámara por fin está cerca- no aparece el inicio de esa jugada de james cuando recibe el balón con el pecho. Es una lástima porque en otros vídeos que circulan en Internet sí se puede ver en un plano cercano, ese momento y es parte de la belleza de ese gol... Es como si aquí faltaran los primeros acordes de una magistral pieza de arte musical... También en la descripción de esa jugada parece que el redactor solo hubiera visto este mismo video con esta edición, porque así lo describe

Todos los que dicen que el de Roche es mejor es solo porque es mujer, tengan en cuenta muchas cosas antes de decir eso por ejemplo el nivel futbolistico, importancia del equipo al que marcaron distancia grado de dificultad, no es lo mismo marcar frente a un aguerrido equipo uruguayo que tal y como se vió no le hizo nada fácil las cosas a colombia que James al momento de patear tenía a 5 uruguayos al lado de el y que si se hubiera demorado un segundo mas en patear nunca lo hubiera logrado, en pleno mundial nada menos que en octavos de final que marcar en una liga desconocida con unas defensas pobres en marca y una arquera que parecia no tener ni cinco de vision ni de habilidad, con todo respeto pero es un gol con muy poco merito en significado.
