      Thanks for reply.
      I know some rich people. Some are business owners. One person worked 15 hours a day to manage several fast food franchises. Another worked on 2 businesses to earn his first million.
      Some people get rich by scamming other people. Most worked hard to climb up the corporate ladder or owned businesses. I don't see how that would be "industrial level scams".

    • @SuperWolfkin
      @SuperWolfkin Před 7 lety +3

      Industrial level scams are things that scam the poor on an industrial level. Things like repealing Dodd-Frank. Things like the fees people without means suffer from like NSF fees. I dont think every rich person made it on the backs of the poor but I do believe a lot of them do. The richer we're talking the more likely they did it at the expense of staggering levels of poverty elsewhere.

      Here's the problem K Flow: First, according to Internet Historian, they had to cut a lot of stuff out of the budget (deposits for bands, the luxury villas, the infastructure, etc) because a consultant said the festival itself would cost around $50 million dollars plus require these guys to have another year to put the puzzle pieces together. Second, the ticket prices being charged weren't going to help them break even ( $500 to $1,500, and VIP packages including airfare and luxury tent accommodation for US$12,000.). So they had to use the Fyre bands to pay for short term loans the organizers took out to make this event run. And even with more experienced staff telling Mr. Mcfarland to postpone, he just didn't listen to the voice of reason. So a lot of the more experienced staff tried to lessen the damage by telling celebrities and public figures not to go: which is why EVERY musical act that was supposed to have performed at the festival had to drop out. And that in a nutshell is why Fyre Festival failed.

    The lack of empathy amongst these comments is astounding, which is ironic since everyone here seems to say that that's exactly whats wrong with the attendees. This 'us versus them' mentality exacerbates the social divisions in this country. Regardless of your wealth strata, if you pay for a promised service or experience and there is an abject failure to deliver, then you have a right to be angry. The amount of money you have doesn't make the fact that you got shafted any more or less wrong. Empathy people. Learn it. Live it. And we'll all be better off for it.

    Plus I don't contractors will bring out their expensive equipment in those weather conditions. Maybe lateness was an issue. The culture is to do things last minute, which is bad.

      Lit Circle Community College is still a College. You can get an Associates Degree at the Community College of Philadelphia for $9,540. They charge $159/credit for residents of the City of Philadelphia, and it takes 60 credits to earn an Associates.I’m sure there are other community colleges that are cheaper in other parts of the country, so you may even have money left over after earning your Associates to put towards paying for your Bachelors Degree at other schools. Just an FYI, I just did a little digging on Google and found several 4 year colleges in Massachusetts and Florida that offer in-state resident tuition under $1000/year. So a 4 year Bachelors Degree at these schools would cost under $4000, with the money left over you could go to a well established music festival and pay for an actual VIP package for a weekend!

      @harshamohite1289 Před 7 lety +11

      Yup, because $500 is so rich!! Honestly, you're terrible. The media or what have you has gotten you to believe that all rich people are out to get you. You fail to acknowledge that most people that are rich have got there through pure hard work and effort. Whether that be 100-hour weeks managing shop franchises, 5 hours of sleep a night managing employees and assets, sacrificing a personal life to keep their business running, etc. You cannot expect someone to have empathy for you if you do not show empathy back. This is a two-way street. And the basic truth is that most people who are rich have gotten there through pure hard work. Millennials piggybacking off their parents' coffers are not rich folk, they're the relatives of rich folk. To call them rich and use them as the model for what rich people truly are is absurd. I'm not rich, I'm flatly middle class. But I have family friends that are rich. That I barely get to see because they pour every waking moment of their day into their work, into their investments, and into their businesses. I'm still quite young, and I want to put just as much effort into whatever I do. The people who are rich go and manage businesses, accumulating wealth so that people can be hired and they can provide products and services. Entrepreneurship can be lucrative. Not all professions have the same pay ceiling. In the case of business, you get richer the better you run your business and the more effort you put. You yourself can start a business. Heck, even becoming smart in investing can net you some profits over time.

    I'm sorry it doesn't matter how rich you are, it's false advertisement. Yes here in the UK, Our festivals are like this, but they don't advertise that they are not.
    For example I suffer a lot of anxiety and I'd be okay at fyre festival if it delivered what it advertised but it didn't.

      @virtuitousvampire9371 Před 7 lety

      LitCircle App Your right! MUSIC was played! And music that actually was good music that still is relevant today! Now music is made by industry executives for money, "artists" get their cut and it's all marketed to the rich or demographic "trendy" people that have money and/or can be swayed due to aggressive marketing or peer pressure! Mostly youth to early 30's. Their is a whole industry out there trying to control what we feel, do and spend money on. Music was never about that in the beginning. It used to be for the masses. Now, it's targeted marketing which is EXACTLY what this is! Rich, elitist kids taken advantage of by slick marketing for fast food music.

      How much did you think they made? 5000 people at $2k each? Thats only 10m. They dished out a few million just on the marketing. Let alone all the overhead. They needed a financial person badly and didn't have one.

      @@reaganli1254 didn't Netflix and Hulu pay them as well? I have friends that have set up Raves on almost no budget and they turned out better than any of the footage I've seen from that event. I think I saw one piece of footage where there was a DJ? I need to watch the documentary again since I barely glanced at it but it just looks like they didn't do anything except for promotion. The footage doesn't even look like even the worst of all the Rave I ever went to! Anyway, I agree with the financial advisor for sure. Anyway, I have seen very little footage of the Party so I am still looking
