One Piece is SEXIST?! Angry Fans Attack Zoro's Mackenyu + Woke Director Calls Disney Marvel Racist

  • Yet another director is pulling the sexism & racism card as to why their newest project won't succeed, and it's tiring. Also One Piece's Mackenyu is attacked by weirdos because he was paid more than She-Hulk's lead actress. It's ridiculous, so let's talk.

TBF the source material for She Hulk gets pretty lecturey too.
Honestly though, it was such an easy layup and they seeming intentionally missed every opportunity. They even had a stereotypical mediocre ending for She Hulk that wouldn't have been bad, but they break the 4th wall to actively undo it.
This said the rest of the show is bad in an ENTIRELY different way than episode one. Episode one is by far the most woke and preachy, but apart from that decent as a stand alone piece. The rest of the show is just plain awful.

Mackenyu is a househol name in Japan, he has a massive following in China and legion of fans all over Asia. Not only is he the biggest and most establised actor among the main cast, he is definitely of higher status than Tatiana Maslany, he's also crazy talented but since the western media isn't familiar with his work ( which they could have easily googled before writing a trashy article ) they easily dismiss him as just 'the Zorro actor' ..for heaven's sake he's MACKENYU!!!

If you're not a One Piece fan by the end of the season then you are stone cold dead inside lol seriously it's wholesome as hell and relatively/apparently free of modern agendas. Just good entertainment made by true fans who care about moving you, not roping you into their mindsets. Helps that Oda-san, its creator, has such a huge involvement in it, too. Another reason Mackenyu is being paid so well is because he does his own stunts and brings swordsmanship training to the table, eliminating the cost of hiring a double.

I have seen a few comments from ladies who didn't like shounen getting pissed at One Piece for killing off Kuina and (spoilers up to Water 7 arc here)
her being "replaced" by Tashigi. saying Oda can't write a good female character 😂😂😂 why make Tashigi look like Kuina into swords but make her weaker lol. I'm like yeah the two person who died (in flashbacks) are females but you haven't seen the others upcoming yet (Chopper story, Robin's badass) or even a girl in the dressora arc having one of the craziest powers. In general there'll always be people that are sexist, too uptight and bias in their own interpretation not open to other possibilities or theories, really couldn't stand them. The way I see from Zoro flashback is there's always different point of view, Zoro never looks down on any women unlike Kuina's dad etc.
and I think the actors/ actress are paid well for the live action, heck the person who complains probably didn't knew Luffy anime VA is player by woman who most likely earns the most out of the strawhats 😂😂

Most leftists don't see anything beyond the Hollywood/California bubble let alone the US itself. The one piece franchise is gargantuan in terms of fanbase and finance across the world rivaling the MCU in terms of evaluation. The she-hulk nonsense is equivalent to saying Robert Downey JR should get paid same as her which is laughable.

She-Hulk has almost never appeared in media, she is a very low-tier in public eye even if her actual character is good, something like, lets say a side character from Dressrosa, I can probably say without doubt Zoro is a way more popular character then She-hulk worldwide

Part of his deal with Netflix was that he would oversee quality control and have power and involvement in the entire production. He was even able to force them to reshoot scenes he didn't like.

Nope... he gets more money because Zoro as a character is more iconic than She Hulk and I'm saying this as a female One Piece fan. I would even say I love Zoro more than the Hulk himself.
It's just people can't accept that an actor playing in a manga/anime live action, could earn more than someone playing a Marvel character, which says more about Marvel's state nowadays, compared to how society views women actresses, this all disguised as sexism. @@houseofaction I didn't know who She Hulk was though I always knew who the Hulk was.
Then it depends on what sources you used and where you come from, because just the popularity of the One Piece live action, vs She Hulk speaks louder than words. Comparing Marvel with One Piece is also not fair, since one is a long lasting franchise (founded literally in 1939) with multiple stories and superheroes, while the other is a younger piece of media, it's a Japanese manga/anime and it doesn't have the same exposure it would have if it became more international (what One Piece is trying to be now to reach a bigger audience).
When I say "iconic", I mean that She Hulk might be more "famous" than Zoro because of her own franchise, but Zoro is a more original character that isn't tied or second to any other media, the way She Hulk is with Hulk.
One Piece being third is just an example of how if Marvel didn't have as many entries and wasn't American/Internationally distributed, it wouldn't even have the same relevance or popularity One Piece has.
Plus One Piece is consistent, while Marvel keeps putting out stuff that sometimes is great and sometimes flops greatly.
Not a hater of Marvel by the way.

There is one very important reason as to why this One Piece series has actually turned out good; the One Piece creator, Eiichiro Oda, was at Hollywood to oversee the entire production, making sure that everything was done properly. He made sure the script was up to scratch, made the producers reshoot scenes if he wasn't happy with them, and, most importantly, was ready to pull the plug on the whole project at any given moment if Hollywood went even the slightest bit astray. If Oda wasn't there, I'm certain that the series would've become another woke (or should I say 'wank') disaster.

Mackenyu can act and do his own stunts, and yes, he's a good looking man with multiple live-actions under his belt. Some weren't as popular as One Piece. But he still did a great job, in my opinion, as he's actually the highlight of the shows he's been in. He didn't publicly cry about the reception the shows got. Instead, he kept acting until he caught a worldwide success of his own. He has martial arts and sword skills in addition to acting in his portfolio. That's reaching the trifecta of versatile talent.
Lots of people like to see good acting and beautiful people in their entertainment. I don't think I'm an island on that. What I don't like...is people complaining about residuals or more money when their show sucks and they aren't the main character/attraction.
Tatiana Maslany just felt like she was portraying all the writers and her politics, rather than the character from the comics that people expected.
Some actors are simply better than others. They apply themselves after a flop. And maybe some are fantastic while others remain subpar at best. Activists do not make enjoyable entertainers.

I might not speak for the majority,
    - But I find myself watching anime more than ever in the last five years. Most of the shows the US makes continue to degrade in quality and writing. Every time I hear about Hollywood news, it's complaints about how the audience is garbage/racist/bigots/etc. It's louder than them trying to promote what their product is about.
    - Meanwhile, Japanese shows don't care about promoting an agenda and just tell a story. If the audience loves it, they make more. At times, you even hear how their studios go to great lengths to copy the manga that it's based upon. Love and attention are poured into it, and sometimes, these shows become some of the finest writing/literature that I ever seen.

Funny thing about the 'sexism' in one piece. Y'see. Originally One Piece was pretty tame as far as anime and manga go when it comes to fanservice. But about halfway through production Oda got married, but because of his work schedule didn't really have time to sleep with his wife as often as he wanted. So the character designs in the original manga got progressively sexier and more extreme because he was becoming progressively more desperate for 'fun' time with his wife.

THE MAIN reason the One Piece live action is doing so well, is because Oda (The creator of One piece) outright REFUSED to sell the rights to Netflix and would not allow them to do the show unless he was in TOTAL CONTROL over the characters, the costumes and the sets. The adaptation is SO GOOD because the creator of the anime is at the helm and not some woke MORON at Netflix. If Netflix had control over it, they would DESTROY the show and it would be yet another failure. And Mackenyu DESERVES his paycheck, where as actors like Tatiana Maslany DO NOT as they are NOT as good and She Hulk was a TOTAL FAILURE and didn't make the money that GREAT shows like One Piece does. It's as simple as that, if your tv show, movie, sport or whatever doesn't make as much money as others, then you ARE NOT going to get the same kind of paycheck. It's the same reason female athletes get paid less than male ones, female sports simply do not pull in the same number of fans and dont make as much money as male sports. Had She Hulk NOT been a piece of WOKE GARBAGE and had casted an actress who was actually good, then the movie would have made more money and so would the actors/actresses. And BECAUSE of the One Piece live action's success with the first season, you KNOW each actor is going to get a pretty big pay INCREASE for the second season. Thats how it works.

and, let me add, my husband and i are *massive* fans of one piece; it’s actually one of the things that bonded us together when we first met- but, i digress- i just want to talk about how well the creators did with translating OP into live action. my husband and I watched the series fully intending on hate watching it and making fun of the tragedy on screen the whole time… we were wrong !!!!! it’s not the best adaptation ever but it’s a HELL OF A LOT better than we expected !! we were expecting ‘the last air bender’ level bad and this was faaaar from that lol. if you’re a fan of one piece, definitely give it a watch !!

What is important in the one piece live action is love. Luffy's actor is a hardcore fan of the manga, he even did the Hat scene with the voice actor of the character and even with the mangaka. Zoro's actor is a big fan too, and probably the other actors at least know the original manga. This is why manga fans are, for probably the first time in history, liking a live action, because usually live actions suck. And there you have actors who literally trash talk about the original source, and pretend to still have fans of the original like the crop they are making. Actors are starting to become better at making dramas in real life rather than on stage, for Pete's sake.
