- The Super Mario Bros Movie revealed it's first trailer last month, with a second trailer possibly coming in a few weeks time. While little information about the film itself is currently available, there is speculation to be made based on details that's already been revealed. And a certain obscure Mario character may connect to details about the film's origin story.

"The real world" is probably gonna be new donk city. Also the donkey kong in the arcade game is cranky kong (who is also in the movie)

Well we know one thing for sure, the bizarre casting choices (aside from Bowser) haven't changed since the 1993 movie, but that's Hollywood for ya, you just gotta get used to the cheesiness. Though this movie may be more bearable to watch, whereas the 1993 movie I feel like it's only worth watching while drunk.

I agree with what you said, I'm curious to see if Spike has a similar look to the Mario Bros, they've always stuck out in the games compared to everyone else including Princess Peach due to their proportions etc, but Spike is essentially the same body type. I think given the importance of the Donkey Kong arcade game for Nintendo as a whole they'll have to reference it somehow (DK's confirmed as you said afterall) so some sort of montage of Mario's life, perhaps going over him not being able to settle down or something going from job to job would work well. The only thing I believe you didn't mention (unless I missed it) when talking about Brooklyn is that in the games it's been pretty much confirmed now I think the original Donkey Kong (and I assume other games in Mario's pre Mushroom Kingdom days like Wrecking Crew) took place in New Donk City. I prefer the idea of Mario coming from a world where other humans look like him and Luigi in proportions rather than the New Donk City humans, but I could definitely see them going with that as a name for the city at the very least. Honestly, overall I don't expect much from this movie as a movie, but I think as a fan of Nintendo as a whole since I was 3 and watching various episodes of the cartoons growing up, it's going to be cool to me to see something equating to an origin story for them (which even the cartoon show only really went over in the intro). The Mario series has more potential with its characters than plots on the whole so I think it can be entertaining most likely at the very least if they do that well (and even if Chris Pratt's disappointing to me I don't think he'll be outright unwatchable or something like if it was someone like James Corden. He will probably at worst feel too bland which is a shame but also arguably fitting for how Mario's seen in comparison to the rest of his cast I guess.)

i like to believe its all in new donk since thats basically NYC in marioverse. all the other stuff is homage to the old cartoon...
which is nice of nintendo to do considering both actors passed away long ago and nintendo i dont think ever acknowledged them or that show. ever.

Ahh, so it's like a crossover between Wrecking Crew, the original SMB game,SM64 (*because of the penguins), and Donkey Kong Country, I get it now, I love it! :D

The "real world" thing has never been canon, Mario and Luigi come from New Donk City which is in the same planet as the Mushroom Kingdom, and it's also where all the Arcade games happen (DK 1-3, DK Jr., Mario Bros., Wrecking Crew etc)
Or the location has been retconned. Because back then, Nintendo made it clear that DK 1-3, Mario Bros and Wrecking Crew does take place in Brooklyn. But ever since Odyssey, when it's referred Mario came from someplace else, They now say they're from New Donk City from the Metro Kingdom instead of from the real world in Brooklyn.
You should rename your channel to "Bluigi"
