    Can’t see the need for a buffer or low loss header here, sadly it’s become common install practice as really they are only required hydraulically in very few situations and almost always results in distortion if installed.

      @ferguswalker7345 yet there is a pump on primary return from volumiser pointless when ther is a pump in air source any way. So no building circulation increase

    A lot of people would not have space for this equipment, nor the correct radiator pipe work i.e 8mm or 10mm fitted in many properties.

    • @AltoEnergyLimited
      @AltoEnergyLimited  Před 7 měsíci

      We've worked on plenty of properties with less space than this one. True, not everyone will have the correct pipe work, but that can be changed.

    Skill Builder tells the story of a bloke whose Heat Pump has developed a terrible noise which they reckon was due to fact is was placed on part concrete and stoney ground and therefore wasn't vertical over time. Is this installed on solid ground all over, for long lasting stability?

    3 to 4 day install time??? With an existing boiler system (without replacing radiators with LTV radiators etc.) that should not take more than 8 hours to install including setting the base electric and thermostat install. A heat pump is not very different from a gas boiler except for the thermal heat loss design and the external piping.

    • @SanneHoekstra
      @SanneHoekstra Před 7 měsíci

      At 0:53 the technician shows a black finger suggesting that this system is terribly dirty. Any system of that age will have that, that’s the reason why a magnetic filter is required on all new or modified systems, since new energy efficient pumps are more susceptible to iron buildup. A new install including magnetic filter will solve the issue. The 2 hour cleanup as suggested will not clean up the existing sludge in existing radiators…..

    • @SanneHoekstra
      @SanneHoekstra Před 7 měsíci

      All steps shown in the video are very clean, tidy and efficient. I don’t understand why the 3 to 4 day install time is mentioned in the video. Heat pump install should be 1 day, additional piping could take slightly more, truly that can depend on property and wishes of the owner. But really; 3 to 4 days????

    • @AltoEnergyLimited
      @AltoEnergyLimited  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Think you may have misheard. We never said it took 3 to 4 days. This job was complete over 2 days and that's because the electrician wasn't available until day 2 👍

    • @AltoEnergyLimited
      @AltoEnergyLimited  Před 7 měsíci +2

      @@SanneHoekstra The previous system was very new. Maybe 3 years. We weren't expecting it to be that dirty for such a new system. But yes you're right, a magnetic filter will help which is exactly why we fitted one.

    Over thought for a family home and can’t be cost effective,back to storing water,pipe work installed open to the elements? I’m staying with my efficient gas boiler.

    • @AltoEnergyLimited
      @AltoEnergyLimited  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Fair enough 👍 But your efficient boiler is 2-4 times less efficient than a typical heat pump

    • @ebebop
      @ebebop Před 6 měsíci

      Isn’t gas 3 times less than electric.
      I’ve just decommissioned a heat pump and put it back to gas.
      The builders fitted a heat pump designed for a swimming pool. 😅

    • @AltoEnergyLimited
      @AltoEnergyLimited  Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@ebebop Gas is almost 4 times cheaper at the moment. That said, the most important parameters that determine the running costs of a heating system are the overall heat demand, the efficiency of the system and the price paid for fuel. Using the most recent figures available, the data shows that, with a COP of about 3, a heat pump starts to become cheaper to run than a gas boiler, which in most cases runs at an efficiency of about 85%.
