I'm a young man in my twenties (groan).
It's the 1970's.
I'm in Bingley Hall in Stafford (England).
It's a massive shed normally used for cattle markets.
Concrete floor.
No seats.
The atmosphere is one of anticipated excitement.
We're all here to see Pink Floyd.
Wow......
Before the show starts they tell us to remain seated throughout.
We all think that's so that the people at the back can see.
The people at the back cheer.
The show starts....
Halfway through the first set we suddenly realise why we are seated.....
A huge pink inflated flying pig with red flashing eyes is floating from the back of the hall suspended on a wire.
It's leg misses my head by less than a meter.....
For the first set they play the album "Animals" from beginning to end (hence the flying pig).
For the second set they play the album "Wish You Were Here" (my favourite album) from beginning to end.
Absolutely brilliant and probably the best concert I've ever seen.
I hope you enjoy my attempt at this iconic song which gave my old 12 stringer an enjoyable outing.

That brings back memories. 'Delicate Sound of Thunder' was the first album officially sold in the Soviet Union after the band visited the country in 1989. As a teenager at that time, I bought it, and 'Wish You Were Here' was the very first song I learned.
Pink Floyd and Iron Maiden hold a special place in my heart, and you managed to capture the spirit of their songs. Thank you, and Merry Christmas!

Thanks Damien. This lovely 12 stringer is an ancient Hoya which I bought second hand in 1969 for £10. It was difficult to play but had a nice sound. During lockdown I did a bit of work on it and improved the playability so I'm really pleased with it now 🙂.

incredible. never seen Pink Floyd live. Missed the Pulse tour although it was my favorate band back then. wonderful rendition of one of their best songs. My favorate album is Wish you were here too. Shine on you crazy diamond is imo their masterpiece.
