Hermès Terre d'Hermès Eau Givrée - real world fragrance review

  • In this video, I review Hermès Eau Givrée, a refreshing and invigorating fragrance that beautifully balances zesty citrus and cool, icy notes. Eau Givrée opens with a burst of lemon and grapefruit, transitioning into a heart of crisp mint and juniper berries, and finishes with a subtle woody base. This scent is reminiscent of Perris Montecarlo Cedro di Diamante and Guerlain Eau de Pamplelune, sharing a similar bright and sparkling citrus character. I'll discuss its longevity, sillage, and how it evolves on the skin, comparing it to these other citrus-forward fragrances to help you decide which one suits your style best.

That was a solid review. It is not easy to be both very critical and respectful at the same time. I sprayed at a drugstore and walked outside and got the same ‘it has no legs’ verdict after 20 minutes. And like you once said, that makes a fragrance without a use case and to me that means it is not worth the expense. It was reassuring to see the hype being contradicted by someone else as well 😉

Thank your for your take. I really love Eau Givree. I personally consider it one of the best designers of the last years. That opening just gets me, but I also really enjoy that woody slightly metallic base. I’m lucky I guess since I really get good longevity out of it (6-8 hours) even when working out. I do apply quite heavy, 9-10 sprays but without reapplying.

Just stumbled upon your channel. That was a very fair review. I bought a 50ml at full retail when it came out and am halfway through a heavily discounted 100ml because, like you, I spray it with reckless abandon! But it is almost entirely about the opening. That said, we could be going anosmic to it. I recently wore it out on a Saturday night and when I was saying goodbye to people, at midnight, I hugged one of the girls and she commented on how good I smelled and asked what it was. Unfortunately, I always felt like it lacks performance, which I cannot say about PDM Perseus, which, to my nose, plays a very similar role, or at least can be used in hot weather. I own neither of them and I don't think I will. Plenty of perfumes I like much better, hot weather or not (I wear King Blue in 35° no problem).
