@@the-best-truck-content 2024 SL. No cigarette lighter in glovebox, no lights on sun visor mirrors. Can’t get rid of “press and hold enter to reset” on drivers side center screen in any setting. Rear seatbelts light stays on for a bit even if nothing is on rear seat. Other than those three minor complaints it’s the best damn midsize truck available. Anyone that argues that, go talk to your mom.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. One of the main reasons the tacos are dying out right now is that they made too many "modern changes" like removing v6 options and natural aspiration while adding turbo chargers that wear the engines faster when their whole selling point was that they last forever. Nobody goes to Nissan first for a truck, they ended up here because the 24 Rangers and Tacomas are loaded with terrible reviews by mechanics.

As far as I am concerned, to hell with your outdated powertrain idea. Nissan is the only one left with a decent powertrain. There are enough people out there to realize the small engine turbo charged trucks are going to wear out much faster and don’t want anything to do with them. Only reason Nissan is having sales problems is the same reason everyone else is having sales problems, everyone is fucking broke and do not have the money to invest in these overpriced new vehicles no matter who makes them Nissan is the only one left with a reasonable powertrain and truck as far as holding up and lasting for the long-haul.

I don't know of anyone wanting a hybrid power train in a truck. That's one of the reasons the other OEM's have pretty much lost any shot of selling me one of their trucks. The other thing, the gas mileage isn't much better than the larger displacement and naturally aspirated engine Nissan has. Most people buying a truck are looking for reliability. Turbo charged engines are never as reliable as naturally aspirated engines. I think you might want to rethink this title. Nissan last time I checked, is gaining on Toyota.

  • @markm148

This is not a outdated platform. It’s a proven platform! When auto companies come out with new products they are plagued with problems. That means less reliability and more money spent on repairs. Old Honda’s were so reliable because they kept them the same and kept improving them. This is the most reliable, longest lasting mid sized truck made today that you can buy new. This is what a truck should be and is what truck buyers want.

Baloney, a real 6 cylinder naturally aspirated engine gets an avg 170-300k. Tried and true. Turbo -hybrid suck, you will pay an arm and a leg to repair tubo-hybrids. Certainly will not get much of a life span. Frontiers are selling, pricing starting to fall on all. See Scotty Kilmore re: this.

Frontier sales for 2024 are up significantly. Toyota Taco sales are down a lot compared to 2023. • @nn431xru1

All the “negative” things in this video was the reason why bought my 2024 pro4x. 4cyl turbo in a truck? Maybe for fiat 500, but not for trucks. The 3.8L V6 has pretty much the same gas mileage as Toyota’s 4cyl turbo in taco 😂 but the taco will need a new engine within 100K miles while the NA V6 will go easy 300K+. Everything Nissan offered in this new Frontier I love. I will never buy a hybrid car due to complexity and the cost of repairs it comes with or any 4cyl turbo especially in a truck. People with limited knowledge about cars are falling for the hype. Additionally, the Frontier is 100% made in the USA. And the transmission is made in Japan. Unlike Ford, GM, Ram, and Toyota are made everywhere except US. That is why their quality sucks. The Frontier is the best, simplest, most reliable mid-sized truck on the market today. Period.
BTW…Tacoma is a Mexican car, not Japanese.

So this clown is saying people love little four banger engines with turbos, likely to blow out the bottom end of the engine faster than they desire? I'll stick with a BEST IN CLASS, naturally aspirated V6, 3.8L DOHC engine that offers more HP and Torque than those tiny four bangers that sound like a singer sewing machine gasping for air when driven.

Well best in class HP tying the 2.7 turbo in the colorado/canyon at 310hp but that little 2.7 puts out 430lbft of torque compared to the 3.8s 281lbft.
