one of the best explanation i've ever seen, soon returning ny leased car, and i didnt knew about some things, but you really explained nicely, thanks! love your videos
Your videos are always useful, but this one is particularly informative! Thanks, Ari!
Great info Ari! I always schedule the lease end inspection done and I always take my own pictures of the car inside and out just in case the leasing company tries to charge me for bogus issues that happen after i turn in the car.
thanks for the info, new to the channel, your info was spot on and direct to the point with great tips. I have a vw lease ending and this gave me better info than the lease maturity department on the phone...
I never just turn in my leased car. If you just drop it off at a dealership, you are losing equity that can be used if you were to use the car as a trade in. I got $1,900 equity on my last car to put toward the new car. The dealer took it from me as part of the lease deal and put it on their lot to sell. My cars are always in excellent condition with low mileage when I turn them in. When I go anywhere, I park away from the other cars to avoid dents and dings on the car. The car is always garaged as well. Before I went to the dealer with my trade-in, I spent a couple hours waxing it. It's a good idea to put some elbow grease into it, chances are you'll get more for your trade if it looks good
Excellent suggestions and alternative thinking to getting hosed by the lease company. Keep up the great videos Ari!
Great video. I have a a year left on first lease vehicle and have some scratches on my hood I know I have to take care of prior to the return. This video was very helpful. Have to find a good body shop to do a lease return detail, etc prior to return.
ur videos are very informative regardless so thank you for doing that! What I wanted to say here I been leasing cars for years and never get charge for anything, recently I switched Nissan to Infiniti and my Nissan had 2 places minor dents and few scratches and stuff like that, they not even look at this so much, I never received any bills or anything every time I switched to another model, I am not making this up, 100% true! but ofc I was dealing with the same brand so its understandable, I am sure if I go to other brand most likely I will get charge, so what I am saying here if you dealing with same company u rarely gonna get charged or maybe I was just lucky! Great work btw!
Damn good information. Thank You for taking the time to put out this video. I'm sure that it has and will help out a lot of people navigate the potential mine field of a lease return.
Thank you for your comment Mark!
Thank you for the advice of doing a video walk of the vehicle.
Your channel and content is great! I suck at negotiating car deals so I will use your services next time!
Thank you for this video. Many more to come. Thanks.
Thank you, very informative and encouraging!
Thank you. This video gave me some more options.
Unfortunately for me, no pre-inspections due to COVID-19 for the past 120 days prior to my lease being up next week. Here I am now looking to CZcams for advice. Thanks for the video!
Have you ever heard of Lemon Squad? It is a new company doing inspections in your driveway. I heard about it on another YT channel. I liked the website when I checked on it.
Another amazing video Ari... I will revisit this video in 6months when I get ready to turn in my car. Thanks again!
Thank you too Jo!!
How did it go ?
Wow man great video. Thanks a lot for this!
Thank you too!!
Very informative video!!!
One of the best information, great job. Even though I never lease a car but good and new knowledge.
Why would you never lease?
Thank you very much !!
Very helpful, thanks!
Perfect video! Exactly what i was looking for!! Got yourself a new subscriber lol
Great Video! I turned in my lease the day this video was published. Wish I had seen it prior to visiting the dealer. I will say, on the inspection report they inspected noted I needed two new tires as they were worn below recommended tread. I decided to purchase 4 used, but in great shape tires and changed all 4. I did mention this to the dealer but I feel like I should've did a video walk-through of the car and tires. I hope mercedes doesn't charge me the lease end fee as I did lease another vehicle from them. However, these items were not discussed as we were sort of rushing to get out of the dealer. keeping my fingers crossed.
So what happened?
Great video, thanks
your saving people alot of money brother ....godbless love this channel
Thank you :)
Excellent video!
If you're getting retread tires, don't do eBay. Installation fees will kill any value. There are tons of used tire shops that include installation in the price.
DEF DEF no retreaded.. just used. Like a regular gently used tire somebody took off in good condition..
Great info , good to know
Very helpful. Thanks
Thanks bro the carmax thing is genius
Awesome thanks again keep it coming
Thank you for watching :)
Subscribed. Good job man. Very informative
Thank you Wendy :)))
Lease deals are amazing for the dealers, the customer is responsible for turning in a near perfect car with a certain mileage, and paying all “ownership” taxes and fees while you drive it. If the dealer can’t lose in this arrangement, guess who is!
Thanks Ari. Great Video
Thank you for watching Victor!
Great advice Ari!
Thank you for watching Andrew!!!
Ari you can always trade in your lease at any dealership for more money and avoid all this end of lease hassales
Possibly yes, but shop it around a lot so you know you're maxing out its value. Not all cars will be in a positive equity situations, but I know a lot of Hondas can be in this position..
Ari Janessian yup i have a 2018 honda accord sport and the trade in value is at around 21,600 which is more than what i still own on my car currently.
The disposition fee was $500 when returned a CRV in 2018. They added $400 for wear & tear.
Ari- ive traded in leases with one month left and made $$ towards a new lease. Covering tax, tags and first. I keep my cars fresh. Ever heard of this? PS. Great work. I watch every upload.
The lease on my '17 Sierra will be over in two months, truck is pretty clean and WAY under miles, it has a few scratches less than 2" big but what really worries me is the bed is really scratched up. I hope they dont charge me and arm and a leg just for that.
SUB EARNED! Quality and direct content!
I just decided to keep my car at the end of the lease, and want to share my experience to keep more money in your pocket. I contacted Hyundai a month before the end of the lease and discussed options including purchase. They said the easiest way was to go to a dealership and they would help to complete all of the paperwork. They told me my buyout was $14.5K which included state taxes. When we got to the dealership, they said the buyout was $15.2K, or $700 over what I was quoted by Hyundai. I declined and contacted Hyundai again. Seems you can buy your car from the finance company direct without $700 worth of documentation fees. Four pages of docs with 3 signatures and I mailed the check. I will have to go to DMV to transfer title, but well worth the savings.
How do you find out the finance company?
Another brilliant video 👍
You're the man bro. Thank you!!
Thanks man. I I will do all that at the end of my dad’s civic lease. I didn’t know you could trade it in to car max and other places.
Thank you too!! Definitely man. Carmax is the best!

Very good info and advice👍🏾 Sold my last leased car to Carvana and it was $3k higher offer than what two local dealers offered to buy the car, including Carmax. Incredible👍🏾
So did you have to purchase the vehicle first for the amount specified in the lease contract before you can sold it to Carvana???
@@Monce08 No. I had to contact leasing company for the 10 day payoff amount for Carvana. They paid off the lease and gave me the difference by check at the time they picked up the car. Pretty smooth transaction.
Man you are the best I love your videos
YOU DA MAN! Thank you too!
My leased Audi A4 only has 20K miles on it when it’s supposed to have 36K miles at the lease end. I’m debating on buying it out with cash/check. And then sell it myself privately, as I really want an AWD drive for myself. I know the con-artist dealership ripped me off during the lease because I didn’t bother to educate myself or do research. Now I know about all these fees/overpriced unnecessary packages that these scumbags talk you into getting.
Carvana/KBB quoted my Audi for $15K-$17K and the dealership wants $26K 😂
Dam that's a big difference!
My 2018 TLX has a $450 disposition fee and I’m going to be about 10k under miles and the car is in perfect shape but I fear they may hit me with tires and brakes when it goes back in 5 months.
Currently leasing a honda(with honda financial) have about 5 payments left. My question is when i turn the car in do i have to pay everything upfront or do i get a bill by mail? How does this work? Thank you.
How does it work if your car has a paint defect or body panel defect when you turn it in and it clearly isn’t damages from you, do they ignore it since it’s still under warranty when you turn it in?
This is a great video
Chemmi?
Dude you are the man......!
Ari my wife and I have a 2018 Honda Accord sport lease due June 2020. The car was in an accident with no frame damage but air bags did deploy. The car looks like new again as if nothing happened. Do you know if this will affect us when we turn in the car at the end of the lease?
What’s the deal with dent in the inside of truck box bed
Axpher Jan I am underwater with a Camry lease almost 37,000 miles under what is my best option for negative equity
What if you're under the agreed upon milage? do you get to charge them .20 cents a mile?
How about taking your car for a detail job that costs around $250, before the inspection?
I’m definitely going to be calling Dent Wizard locally and see how much it cost to remove a dent on my Q5 near lease end.
I heard they're really good Ken! Let me know...
Hello, I have a lease with Toyota dealer. I got a 2019 Toyota Highlander and return an Avalon. When returning the Avalon I decided if I took another car or only return it without any cost. But now with this Lease at the moment of return if I decide not to take another car they would charge me $ 350.00 dollars. You've heard that before. Thanks for your videos. 👍
Thank you for watching!!! Yes, if you don't sign another Toyota, they won't waive the disposition fee.
Ari by dealer said to that my GMC truck lease has 5000 dollars in dents scratches before you go over that you will be charge ... What do you think
Thnx Ari. Nice video. How about fuel level: does it need to be full? And do you need to do the oil change before returning, if your car is about to get a new oil change?
Did you find out ?
Ari, help, I'm 2 weeks away from QX 60 Lease End and 4K under the 36,000 miles allowed, the tires are all very low on tread. They put garbage tires on and mechanic also tells me there is no meat left on front brakes.... they use crap parts and now it's my problem? I'm not paying a nickel on this stuff. I lease so I don't have to worry about wear and tear but Infinity uses bargain bin parts. (Also on my 3rd transmission w this car, as they they wouldn't give me a new car) ) Appreciate any advice.
I am due to lease completion on my Audi 3 months from now. Can I do 2 lease end inspections? like one now and 1 around 2 week earlier?
Leasing a bmw! We're over the miles about 7,500. But we want to go into another lease. What are my chances of not paying those miles?
First, and good information Ari keep it up
Thank you :)
Will they charge you for blacking out the emblems? I heard in most cases the lease return guy doesn't even notice its not stock, is that true?
What about financing the leased car after 3 years of leasing can I get a lower payment on the car?
is it better to lease a car from a leasing company. Im from New York
hi @ari janessian do I need to do this if I will sell to carvana or any similar car company
Great video how many weeks or months should we get a end of lease inspection done in your opinion
I'd say no less than one month before the lease end!
I'm in a lease now but will carvina buy my lease
Can you re-explain the Carmax thing again? If my by out is $20 k from the dealer and Carmax will give me $18k, do I sell it to carmax?
hello dude i agree that is an an actual crime to lie about a car's mileage
ARI, I just have a quick question,If you were to Lease a 2019 charger scatpack Today, "well monday/tues lol,The sticker is $47,075, were would u be comfortable at on a 3 year 12k mile lease ,I passed on one a few months ago and I'm considering another one I like.I just dont know were u guys find current residual/MF. SO just seeing what u say it should be "at the moment" .Thanks again
Oh I'm in new york, and the car in question is in north carolina steve white dodge
Hi Ari, at the beginning of my lease in 2017 I purchased a wear and tear packgage for my lease through Acura which was an extra 30 dollars a month. I was told that whatever damage there was on the vehicle the wear and tear package would cover it. Is this true?
Your good; I did it too [no issues at all during trade in period].
When replacing tires, let’s say you only need 2, do you need the same tire brand or is OK to have different brands. ie. Hankook (front tires) & Bridgestone (rear tires)? appreciate the response in advance.
Did you find out ? I’m in the same boat. Recently 2 of my tires were slashed
Thanks
Thank YOU, Tito!
@@negotiationguides not only do you give us good information but you also give us the confidence to do these things. 👍
Great video Ari! I have a question about the brakes. Do they usually check the pad/rotor wear or is it more of a “if the brake light is on it needs to be fixed” kinda deal? And is it better to change yourself or charge it on the bill? I have a 2018 Audi S4 and my lease is up next September. And also how about any damage to the front window? Like rock chips. Is it better to replace it yourself or have it charged on the lease return bill?
If the light is on, it's gonna be charged brother... I'd say get the car inspected first before replacing the windhsield/window.. See how much they charge, then get the quote. Also, the window companies may have a way to remove small chips... Just saying
Ari Janessian thanks for the info. I figured if the lights on to get the changed, so far no issues with that. And I’ll give some window repair companies a shot and get some prices. I have used those chip repair kits off amazon as well and they work alright, but there’s still some signs of damage left. Thanks again for the reply
Would it be worth it to switch my Honda hrv lease to a VW Tiguan lease. Or just stay with Honda?
If I go from Nissan to Nissan, how does the approval process work and do you know if I’ll get or it’ll be easier to get approved? Also, can it be done as fast as over the late Saturday or early Sunday , or are the finance offices closed?
Thanks.
You may already be approved brother. Have you received notification from Nissan saying "you're preapproved"? This has happened a few times to my customers before in finance. They had a check mark as soon as they plugged in their VIN.
It’s a lease , and I haven’t heard back yet, I did it through a broker like you are. I gave everything Friday afternoon , two days, no answer, I’m just worried about being approved since the price is only $99 more from my previous lease .
Thanks.
Please do best rates for BMW 330i Lease
Coming very soon I promise. Waiting to get my car serviced, will use a loaner in the video.
Hi Ari, what is your experience with run flat tires and lease returns? I’ve heard both ways, that if the car came with run flats they want them on at lease return. Or that you can have regular tires at lease return. Thanks.
I recently leased a car with run flat tires and was told to return the car with the same tires not regular ones!
Preciiiiiisely!!!!! BMW in particular, if they're not Runflats, they can be brand spanking new rubber, they're charging. You may as well take them off on the spot...
I got a Infiniti
I hate leases, I like to scratch my car, dent it without a fear, spray touch up paint, put custom wheel, etc.
Unlike you, I hate scratching my car but it happens I don't want to be so concerned and it's one of the many reasons I avoid leasing.
Definitely not for you I understand...
millage..... easy, put it up on a jack, stick it in reverse, leave it for a few hours and boom !
Sell it to Cavana or Vroom and pocket the difference without the hassle
I’m planning on getting a unicorn and then trading in for a profit 😛 jk, not going to happen in S. FL
so you have to pay money to return your lease?? most clients returned their lease without paying anything
Rocky yeah sounds like a ripoff
We washed our pathfinder platinum 3 times before the inspector came and he only put $460 of damage and we get $500 waived
LOL! Best car wash ever :)
Ari Janessian yeah man!
Nice BMW!
I went to an online tire store and got my 300 dollar tires used for 30 bucks.
Straight up WIN WIN
What online store store was it?
Can you modify a lease
For sure, but the modifications can't void warranty, and have to be removed at the end...
Word two tires they didn't say you had to turn in the same tires lol
Tip:
The day before your lease is up on your fancy Audi, don’t back into it with you massive SUV!
Yeah, I did that. 😒
Bobert Beaubert lol sorry
Still 360p...lol
LOL.. sorryyyyyyy
There is a car i want for the price. Everything is PERFECT on the car, no damage or incidents ever reported and everything lines up on the body. They want to charge me a $700 "lojack fee" because all their cars come with it. They are no-haggle price. I know a fact the lojack fee is a scam. What should i do to get the car.
do you have a business email ?.
Well, BMW will not come out. They're too stuck up to do that.
I don't trust their standards of turn-in inspection.
It's their good excuse to rip you off. That's why I never lease.
Ari! 41 minutes after your upload and it's still at 360p! Come on!
What am I missing? What does this comment mean?
It isn't his fault...
