    7:25. I am pretty sure on any 4wd vehicle you have to regear both front and rear if you plan on using 4wd (at least on everyone I know). Otherwise the front driveshaft is spinning at one speed out of the transfer case and the rear at a different speed. This will blow a transfer.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Před 4 lety +3

      Just Q the Raptors 4wd system is more like an AWD system and power is not distributed 50/50 like a traditional 4wd. Raptors 4wd is also unique in that you can go 100 mph in 4wd. All others are limited to 40 mph. So you can get away with just re-gearing the back. But honestly, with the way the 10 speed transmission works you don’t really need to re-gear.

    Hey, so I've been doing a lot kf research here and it's about 2 years later. Camburg has a full Bolt-On kit that pushes your suspension forward 1 inch and out 1.5 inches. Paired with 3.0 fox and fenders, you should be good to drive to Starbucks while looking like a real pimp. I offroad at work and have very little desire to go back when I'm done. That camburg kit is 5300 bucks. Not bad!

      IMO, a single front shock version with a wider track is not worth it. Yeah you get more travel and all that. But you don’t really get to use it with a single coilover. You really need the extra bypass shock to help absorb the impacts and allow you to use the suspension trsvel as higher speeds.
      Your basically the cost of the bypass and arm and weld work off from a full bolt kit. Maybe $4-5k difference between a full mid travel kit. Spending all that money is not worth it, just go all in

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Před 4 lety +2

      Christopher Salmon 13.5s should be fine. Your only risk is that they will put you very close to the upper control arm UCA. You will not be able to upgrade your UCA until you get different wheels with 12 or lower offset. Then at that point your now getting wide again and risking messing up your fenders again. Stock wheels are at 34 mm offset.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Před 4 lety

      Omar Ramirez you can, but there are a few problems with putting a bump kit up front. Reduced travel is a big one, up travel is what allows the truck to travel at high speed and cushion the bumps. So reducing that does reduce capability. 2nd is where to put it. Ideally a bump stop should strike at the Upper control arm, but with wiring, battery and intake there is no where to fit one. I’ve seen a lot of shops strike on the lower control arm but this is a compromise and may cause some issues with twisting overtime.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Před 2 lety +1

      At this point in the truck build I also had the Cobb tune and I was able to correct the tire size and have the correct speed.
      Problem here is 2 fold.:
      1. 4.10 gearing is totally wrong for 37s. Should be 4.55 or 4.88
      2. The way the ecoboost makes power. All up front and sharp drop on the big end. So after 65mph, there is no more power left to give and she’s already bogged down.
      The 2022 ecoboost handle it better but still get bogged down and why 37s on a V8 truck are better. More torque early on and power curve is more linear.

    Wouldn't the front be okay if you just ran a bump stop like an inch from hitting the top of the well? Not too familiar with that much travel but it makes sense in my head. You would be losing up travel but you'd save your fenders and stuff....right?

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Před 4 lety

      WB Streets you would reduce travel and now you need something more crazy up front that can support a bump stop. I’ve been a few front bump stop options out there but they all take away way too much travel and not worth it.
      It also won’t stop the rubbing. At full tuck you only risk hitting the pinch welds and liner. But at normal ride height your hitting fenders and everything when turning. Add a small bump while turning like a speed bump and even with trimming you got rubbing. It’s really not worth it and mainly done for looks rather than functionally at that point

    Have had 37s on my raptor for years. No trimming necessary. Change your wheels to lesser off set and raise front 2 inches. 37s will fit with no issues.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Před 2 lety +1

      🤣🤣🤣 not possible. Not even with stock offset at +34. Aftermarket you can only get +6, 0 , or negative offset that goes much wider.
      37s with stock wheels will rub on the corners.
      37s with 0 offset rubs a little more.
      Even if you use BFG, that we all know are smaller than 37s, they will rub.
      NONE work offroad. NONE. And I showed the proof in multiple follow up videos.
      I have a few videos showing the rubbing. And a 2 in lift can be too much for the front axles and now the CV boots will fail quicker. So sorry man, but your advice here is all kinds of wrong and I’ve proven it.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Před 3 lety +2

      Sure, if you want to be made fun of at every Raptor forum or event. NEVER put a “lift kit” on a Raptor. You loose all the offroad functionality of the truck when you do.

      Depends on your budget and how much off-roading you want to do. There are low cost options we documented on future videos of this video series. And there is the right way that requires big bucks
