🔥Where do you get the edible images?
Check out your local bakery supply stores, high volume and smaller brick and mortar bakeries!
A local bakery supply store near me used to do them, which was so amazing and convenient, but sadly they no longer do it so I had to find another way!
Thankfully another local bakery offers a service where you can send them your image and will print it for a fee.
🚨Just make sure to confirm what they print on! The burn away image has to be on wafer paper to get that quick and effective reveal.
If you do or plan to create a lot of these cakes and other projects that need edible images It might be worth it to invest in an edible printer of your own. 💕
🔥How long does it burn?
From the first light to extinguish was about 30 seconds for me. (It's super sped up in the video)
🔥Does it Extinguish itself?
Yes! And smells like roasting marshmallows 😅

The double border height is essential to prevent the lower image from burning.
Though the wafer paper is thin, It's not so transparent that I could see the image below it.
And yes it's as fun as it looks!🤩

Love these cakes but they they always taste soooo burnt, you have to scrape the whole 3 layers of butter cream and the edible image on top off. Leaving a completely plain cake. Such a shame.

After placing the waffer paper on the cake, if we keep the cake in the refrigerator for 1hr. Will the paper still burn properly? or will it absorb moisture?

How do I access the burn away wafer paper? Do you use a cricket for the wording & decor on it?
I order the wafer paper from Amazon. The image can be printed with an edible printer, I typically have a local bakery print my edible images for me. 💕💕

Excellent question, you can definitely use cream cheese frosting, you could even use a stabilized whipped cream. 💕💕

I typically prep the top image and Buttercream border the day of to avoid any wrinkling in the image due to humidity. 💕💕

Wax paper does not burn the same way that the wafer paper will burn I would not recommend it 💕💕
