Without a doubt the Browning 725 with mechanical triggers has a faster second shot. To me that gives it a big advantage. What if your first shot is a dud or bad reload or defective shotshell, with inertia triggers (525) you lost out. With mechanical triggers you still have a shot. Great video. Thanks

I had a similar experience 20 years ago. I had a Lightning Sporting Clays low rib that worked very well for me. I did some horse trading and picked up a 425 with stunning wood. I put the Lightning in the safe for a season. I brought it out with the intent to sell it but took it and the 425 to the club for one last comparison. Shooting both guns back to back the Lightning just worked better for me in fit and such so I put the 425 up for sale.
The first person that looked at it was a shooting friend from another club and he asked if he could take it out for a round. He came back and asked me what I wanted for it which he agreed to quickly. It turned out that he went straight on his local course with the gun cold.

Thanks for the video. The thing with either of these 2 firearms is that NEITHER of them are a bad choice. I've gotten back into the sport after a decade+ layoff last fall and was looking for a new gun. Where I shoot I've been VERY lucky to have friends that have a decent selection of different guns. Before choosing the 725 I was able to put a bit of work in with Beretta 682, 686, 690, 694. Caesar Guerini Summit, Summit Ascent. Fabarm Elos. Browning 425, 525, CX, CXS, XS, and 725. Perazzi MX8 and HiTech. I found for how I'm built the 725 came out just a bit ahead of the 525 with the CX in third place. This was due to how the guns fit and handled FOR ME. The MX8's that I've been able to run this year were better in the fit and handling dept than any of the above guns but they cost substantially more than any of the others. If I were a serious competitor I'd make the stretch for one though.
Enjoy your content and looking forward to the next video!

Just for conversation: I have a Browning Citori 725 Sporting w/adj comb, 32 inch barrels (0135533009), I paid $2800.00 in (2014) and about $100.00 for the added custom removable made weights. OEM Browning weight is 7 lbs. 13 oz. I added weight to the barrels and butt stock to evenly balance at the hinge pin (added 7.94 lbs). Now my gun weights in at 8.668125 lbs. which to me is now perfect. I shoot skeet, trap, sporting clays all with the same gun.
      The Beretta DT11, JDTLB12 , SPORTING B-FAST, 32 inch barrels, est. weights 8.333474 lbs. = 3780g
      $12075.00
      The perazzi High Tech Sporter S, 32 inch barrels, est. weights 8lbs 6.7oz (3.788KG) $12,855.40 = £10,517
So for me the weight is very compareable but the price of my gun compared to the Berreta and Perazzi is huge.

Hi David, again a great and instructive movie. Thank you for that. I started shooting again after a pause of more or less ten years. I owned Beretta 687 20 bore and Blaser F3 12 bore. I was in to buying a Beretta 20 field but after a few test shots fell in love with a Browning 525 Exquisite 20. What a sweet gun! I can only confirm: go to your shooting school and try... and then make up your mind in function of your budget.

Your 725 sounds similar to mine. The place I picked mine up from had an excusive with Browning where the gun has a blued receiver, 2 choke tubes, 1 trigger blade, 1 recoil pad, and the unique thing being 31 inch barrels. Mine scales at 7lb 13oz which is fairly light but with the stock and good recoil pad it's surprisingly soft shooting.
