I can't believe I've looked at the comments and seen the top ones putting Brian down... Brian May is the most genuine, inspirational, beautiful human being to ever exist. He's my absolute hero. He does so much to help people and animals and he never asks for anything back. He's a rock legend, a doctor of Astrophysics and he's doing whatever he can to change the world. And what are you guys doing? Commenting on how he dealt with his grief after his father and best friend died. How dare you.
And what about his adversaries? They May agree that he is a rock legend but they where fighting in the band - he left his wife and three children and he is not going soft in diskussions when he disagree.
@@anne-mariesindruprix5794 I could be wrong here while he did leave his wife and children my understanding is that Brian and Chrissie Mullens would have split anyway. The marriage was already on the rocks when Anita came into the picture. It's annoying when people don't do full research before making a nasty comment.
Brian, I do agree with you that if one can crawl out of a dark place and come out of it definitely makes us stronger and a better person than we thought we could be.
I haven't picked up a guitar in almost two years - not once - used to play hours every day. Now I have no calluses and almost no strength in my hands whatsoever... I'd been playing over 30 years... Depression is a real bitch!!!! You lose every joy in life in a black empty hole of despair... it's terribly sad to see all of my old girls (guitars) gathering dust in a silent row... 😟 Big love ❤and respect to Dr.May for being a survivor...
The smiles and tears, moments of joy and remembrance Messrs May , Deacon , Taylor and Mercury have brought to so many millions through their music is immeasurable. Music can stir powerful emotions from within and I find queen's music to be very powerful in that respect. Fantastic man , fantastic band .
This is a great interview, in spite of, or perhaps especially because of the "hard" questions, as all the things Brian *wanted* to say came out. Very nice refinement of some things which have been mentioned during the years, too. The idea of "post modernism" is very spot on. What else? Oh, please don't "keep yourselves out of it" (film script). :)
hey flikkchick your the one who isn't right in the head. The man is a genius has a lot going for him, has a PHD in astrophysics. He lost a dear friend and his father around the same time. Let's compare what you have going for you anything close? I didn't think so.
Freddie studied at "ealing college of art"; dusty lived in ealing broadway, jamiroquai has w5 connections,-my point is ealing is one of londons cultural epicentres for music history- (but I was surprised when my beloved "starbucks" at ealing broadway station closed due to "crossrail")- oh and someone PLEASE rebuild ealing cinema; how long has it been left like that now? shame.
My only hope is this movie will be a true biopic (as it was announced), and not a parody/ comedy played by S.B. Cohen. I can only hope that Mr. Cohen understands the huge responsibility he had assumed by wanting to portray the 'greater than life' character of Freddie Mercury. At least, I give him props & credits for pushing this project further! I want this movie to be a success (as it deserves to be!) . I'm impatiently waiting to see it; hope it will be released within the next year!
@flikkchick Just because you're not prepared to accept something, it doesn't mean you can judge someone else's mental state. The only point which I see proven is that people will try to dismiss whatever challenges their preconceptions.
funny how in some videos he is great, full of knowledge, smart, (like the interview with RT) and others like this one "he is not altogether right in the head" and it gets "likes" :-O
@flikkchick I really think you are taking his comments out of context which it was a short sentence in this 10 min interview, he has elaborated further on what he means by having the presence of Freddie Mercury in his life, or it can be that you have never mourned someone, that is also happens to be your "co-worker", friend, creative partner, part of a lifestyle, etc, etc...
oh dr bri, I'm very excited about how you are. I had made a nice video about the places where you were educated, including Imperial College 1.and they saw the video and told me we are from Imperial College Dr. Brian studied with us at Imperial College we liked the video and I told them I have a channel about cuinique I talk a lot on human behavior the experiences, beliefs, wisdom, and shortcomings of the Queen band.It is important to show that one should never stop doing things and if we have the blessing to stop at a certain age and things happen one can decide and do what one was for so long getting ready and take the bull by the horns and finish what we started so long ago and it is important that people see and know how long after you studied you were already a star of rock music when you went to class. my dad would have loved to meet You, my dad already died 38 years ago but he would have loved to meet You . He had chronic leukemia.
I read on Brian's site (News section) that the film will present "the real story behind their success". I must laugh about these promises/ambitions. It's like the God dilemma: how can you tell the real story behind anything; first you would have to know it, and then life would have to allow it. The real story is already in the music, the videos, and what experiences they/we made of it - so I hope this new film won't fall into that trap, typical of all artist biopics. Comes out in 2012? LOL
If he "love's badgers" that much let him pay the farmers their 1000,0000000000000000000 in subsidies to prevent them shooting the diseased things......

I agree with you, BRIAN May seems to be such a genuine, decent man.
What a great man, he's amazing!
God bless you dr Brian May
I can't handle how outstanding this man is ❤

The world needs more people like Brian!
Sasha Baron Cohen playing Freddie? Really? I don't know what happened to change that but thank goodness Rami Malek happened.
Een geweldige gitarist en zanger maar ook heel veel vecht voor recht voor dieren Brain May 😊😊😊

@flikkchick
I have got news for you, MANY people who love Freddie interact with him on a daily basis.
Freddie studied at "ealing college of art"; dusty lived in ealing broadway, jamiroquai has w5 connections,-my point is ealing is one of londons cultural epicentres for music history- (but I was surprised when my beloved "starbucks" at ealing broadway station closed due to "crossrail")- oh and someone PLEASE rebuild ealing cinema; how long has it been left like that now? shame.
saw him in Duke's york theatre a few weeks ago his hair is cool!

wow 8 years ago, so its 8 year in the making
I'm reading this in 2023. Thank goddess S.B. Cohen didn't play him. It would have been an insult to Freddie.
My King 👑💞 🎸
I just can't quite picture a 60-something Freddie Mercury on HARDtalk...
Nope never would have happened. He was too cool.

@flikkchick i guess you havent lost anyone special, nor have you fought for a cause you believe to be important....

You're an idiot! TB in cattle is only minorly influenced by Badgers; the majority of TB is transmitted through the herds... 🐄
ragumupful - Six years later, how’s the cull working out for you? Especially that 130% INCREASE in bTB in the Gloucestershire cull zone?
