When Em says “ hip hop was never a problem in Harlem only in Boston after it bothered the fathers of daughters startin to blossom “ was that Benzino ?😂🤣
100%
Yeah TRUE❤@@chikushodiz91
This came out before the Benzino beef.
@@Cripplified The Benzino beef is going on for 25 years!
"The united states of embarrassment" the ending words are epic.
Eminem is a legend. Forever.
What an epic song and lyrics.
This is definitely one of Em's most Tupac like songs. You can definitely hear the Pac influence.
He did a freestyle at one point about Bush that got him investigated by the Secret Service. He also got questioned by them again over Trump
It’s so crazy to me that as an original Eminem Stan, my son Eric was 9 when I bought this CD and he was dying his hair blonde for wrestling and football 😎
Em knows how it’s done. His flow is like a true wave and his skill knows no bounds. This track is epic and from Em’s best album.
Eminem is one
Of the goats. Being white only helped him Once he became successful. He had to dig his way out of the trenches before that.
Rabbit hole goes deep. I raised one of those. My oldest stepson was a slim shady. Bleached hair and all.
fun take, as his mom nicknamed him bunny rabbit
Rides this beat like nobody can
Nobody?
Pretty much I don't think anyone can do any better with it
7:55 Em said something similar to that when he talked about seeing the Beastie Boys on MTV
This CD is in the player in my truck right now! Lol. But all you have to do is take a look at his sales and even cutting it in half.... he's still ahead of the game!
Thanks cliff for doing this. I loved it and thank you for the birthday wishes everyone. Cliff please do more Eminem and D12 videos.
Happy Birthday 🎉
This is my fave eminem song, thanks for reacting to it 🎵🎙👽🧩
Eminem has a few where he goes after Bush, one of my favorite songs is Mosh, to me it shows that he figured out what was really going on at the time
On another note, Eminem is 100% dropping SSLP2. A couple weeks ago he re-uploaded My Name Is with foot notes about the making of it. First single will be “I’m Still Shady”
I hope so, and he gets to go for Femzino again too.
@@Len_M. Bye , my name was ?
Yeah it's interesting seeing as how his last two albums were surprise drops and both debuted at #1 on Billboards. This time around, he gave Dre the go ahead and announce on Kimmel that he is about to drop an album and he's been teasing Twitter with SSLP merch, skits, behind the scenes My Name Is music video, and the rumored roster EZMil, Royce, Denaun, Alchemist and Dre.
He could just be changing up his strategy and deciding not to surprise drop an album, but all indicators point to a monster album that he is very proud of.
you could be correct i just got a feeling cos hes called marshall mathers the 3rd i reckon it could be mmlp3
Dre already announced it bro
What I hate is when people say oh he’s white so he raps about fucked up shit, not realizing Detroit rappers as a whole be rapping about some fucked up shit, not just Eminem.
How did D12 come through with the same kind of fucked up sense of humor, sarcasm & violent imagery as Em? Case & point.
Im my country, Em has had a huge influence on the hip hop music scene.
"In particular, the rise in popularity of Eminem in the late 1990s and 50 Cent (also Em's signing to Shady records) in the early 2000s influenced many of today's hip hop artists in Pakistan such as "Party Wrecker" (Mustafa Khan) of the Pashto rap group Fortitude, Qzer (Qasim Naqvi) and DirtJaw."
On a different reaction show , I think it was Black Pegasus he was reacting for the first time to Blondie Rapture. He was extremely surprised when he looked her up that her Song Rapture was the first rap song to be #1 on the billboard chart.
Classic track!
Parents hated him, protested... lol!
Just shows you how much has changed...
Btw: Eminem was banned in Canada ffs!
I remember buying this album before school started from target and bumped it all day an it’s still one of my favorite albums by Eminem 🔥
Before during and after the reaction I had goose bumps, I love this song and I'm a black guy from the UK.
Great album. My favourite song is 'Till I Collapse song with Nate Dogg. Gonna listen to that right after this, thanks for reminding me! Another good couple of tracks I rank high are Square Dance and My Dad's Gone Crazy. But Em's first Slim Shady album is still my favourite after all these years. That being said, there are tons of Em tracks and collaborations over the years that were so dope. One of the best to ever do it. Cheers
It was this track that i began taking notice that eminem was not just gimmick hip hop tracks for the radio, but the dude actually had something to say. Been a big fan ever since.
My favourite Eminem album.
I think this song ages better than a lot of Eminem songs. The rage and honesty is poetic.
This was around the time they held congressional hearings about whether censorship was needed on music.
People in the government were talking shit about him.
Not just him... Parents wanted him censored.
I’m just now getting back into Eminem after sleeping on him for like 15 years … good to hear your input on the albums and now I listen with a more mature mind
Man, we were pissed AF about that controversy sticker they started putting on the music back then! He stayed in trouble, he always came after the government. In turn, the activists and government came after him...RELENTLESSLY! They didn't understand his alter ego AT ALL 😂 He brought hip hop to me, small country town where everyone listened to country music mostly so he definitely brought hip hop to the middle classes also, poor trailer park kids too and all over the world. I am 49 so I know he ain't lying! 😊 He's the 🐐🔥💯👽
Songs like this in which he talked negatively about the bush administration is why I was surprised when a bunch of people got mad that he went after Trump in his BET cipher
Because his opinion of the man was based on media lies. . . I don't think we can trust any of these people, . The elite and rich don't have the average Americans Best interests in mind, at all. . We're all sheep to herd and manipulate to them. . No matter what color you are.
While I would never be surprised by Eminem going after anyone, it’s was quite different.
He wasn’t going at the Bush administration. He was going after those who were asking for censorship of music, and those saying he shouldn’t be heard.
Like at the end, he named both Dems and Repubs
@@mikemck4796 yeah but as I said, there are multiple songs where he says something negative about bush so you pretty much knew which way he leaned when it came to his politics I think in Square Dance he says something like ambush this bush administration or something like that
@@thelegendaryfk7922 I don’t know. Pretty sure he’s said some shit about the Clinton’s as well. Obama is a tough one for a white rapper to go at, but I’d be surprised to find out Eminem supports either political party.
@@mikemck4796 I don't think he said anything about Biden either but yeah, Clinton was pretty easy to go after with his whole sex scandal
Thank you Cliff Beats for all your hard work. ❤️❤️👵🏼
FACTS:
"If you don't know Rakim, you're a casual... just keepin' it a buck."
~Cliff off the rip
I was born in 1988 and growing up in the 1990’s, there were people in my elementary school that listed to rap and hip hop, but Eminem definitely got a lot more of my classmates into rap. And Eminem was my real introduction to rap (aside from the odd song I heard on Napster, the radio etc).
Loved this song....Another great reaction Cliff! 🔥🔥
Em doesn’t have blue eyes; he’s just trying to make a point.
F that...... EVERYONE in this world makes a mark on their own merit despite there color, religion, or beliefs.
wanna know why i love ur reactions
the love u show to original creators no matter how big or small
That's real talk brother, very well explained. Keepin it 100
Em pretty much pressed the doorbell of White America, little Erica saw blonde hair and blue eyes released the deadbolt and then he kicked the door down and let the Hip-Hop floodgates in
I guess his main message is that he is just a rapper, a lyricist and he came up the same way every other rapper has if not worse and he never even would've thought he would have any type of advantage because he never had one before but if he does get influence in white america and worldwide then he's going to show them what hip-hop is about. TES is such a dope album
I Am Erica is also an anagram of I AMERICA
7:33 Eminem had a huge part in not only motivating people of different cultures into rap, he had a huge part in introducing people who had never heard hip hop and rap to the genre. I was in Kuwait at the time he came out and it was like an overnight wave that came over the people. At the time boybands and pop artists were huge (BSB, NSYNC, Britney, Christina). Em came and dislodged them all.
Yea and it trips me out when they say he only goes after boy bands and pop stars for no reason but when he came out they tried to classify him with the boy bands and shit cuz he was white but he was like nah I'm hip hop fuck them boy bands
Eminem vs pop music was a big thing.
He went after the marketing scheme.
Christina Aguilera had a crush on him but he clapped back. lol!
@@davidgossett9388 yeah, he shifted the global trend from boybands and pop stars quite quickly to hip hop.
I had this song memorized so fast as a kid 🔥🔥🔥 Epic 😎
Point of order:
The Beastie Boys were rocking the mic thirteen years before anybody heard of Eminem.
but the beastie boys were largely inoffensive.
Where I came up in SoCal, beastie boys had an entirely different fan base. They were liked by the same people listening to Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and later Green Day. I never heard them on rap radio.
But they weren’t lyrically inclined like Eminem
@@fitzroy6970no one was at the time. we weren't that far off of "rapper's delight" at this point.
When the Beastie Boys were out right beside LL they were knocking on the white rappers door white ppl WERE listening to hip hop but it was mostly punk rockers cuz they could identify with it and ppl seem to forget that white ppl were there damn near since the beginning with Afrika Bambaata one of the Holy Trinity of hip hop Rick Rubin but when Em came he busted the door down and said hey bro there's some white ppl down here in the slums too let me tell u what I seen and been through that's what hip hop is a VOICE for the ppl
You are correct, Obama was one of the greatest speakers as president in 25 years. Prior to that it was Bill Clinton. I was not into politics at all but a friend had some of us over for dinner and then I watched my first State of the Union and Clinton's speech just blew me away.
"The wrong button to push, no friend of Bush" 😀
Just felt like I should comment because I still watch but never say anything. Enjoy all the videos. Keep it up!
This was my first real introduction to hip-hop. As a white person living in a town of like 20k people in central Ontario, Eminem was the first real rap I enjoyed listening to.
Of course, I listen to jazz, metal, edm, and all sorts of other shit, but Eminem was what showed me there was rap out there I could enjoy. Well, that and the Tony Hawk pro skater soundtrack :)
Interesting. Seems like this song addresses some of the stuff that Benzino says.
Been A Em fan since I was 13 ,Regardless what Color he is,He’s Dope and My Favorite just because of his skills,I’ve watched him Grow into who he is today and he’s still Dope,But I definitely have other favorite artist too I’m not just stuck on Em,His catalog is just amazing and he’s always had so Much Hate but it’s only fueled him to put out Dope Music!!!Joyner,Kendrick,Cole,Gates,Jelly,Logic,Nf,Harlow,G-Easy,So many Dope artist out now !!!Em could retire right now ,Give this man his Flowers cuz there’s so many Good ones that can keep Hip Hop goin!!!Shout out to the Legends PAC,Biggie,Big L,Bone Thugs,There’s so much more to Hip Hop and I Love it!!!
I dunno why but this also makes me think about lil mabu's rich scholar video 😂🙈
First I've heard it and liked it right away ever ❤🎉
Thank you
For your brazilian views, pls react to Eminem - We're Back, is from the Re Up album, check it out, I'm sure you will like it!
Tipper Gore (First Lady) was the one that got parental advisory stickers put on CDs
Do you remember when he did this on TV be award show wayyyyyyyy back when???? I was screaming at the TV way back thennnnnn💯💯💯
White America is one of the best songs he ever wrote I’ll say it! it’s one of my all time favorites hands down 💯
Please react to Say What you Say or Say Goodbye Hollywood by Eminem! These are my favorite songs off of the Eminem Show
Cliff great reaction! Any chance you can do “Square Dance”? It’s so fire-from the same album.
When the new album drops i hope u do THIS.😂
This is one of the ones I really liked back in the day
Oh i love Em so much ❤
I always wonder what would Eminem carrier be like if he sign with a different label
💯 13:13
Em helped a LOT of people discover their love for hip hop, regardless of their culture or race, all over the world; and in turn, helped break down barriers of race and bias. 🙌🏽
Imagine a song with Em and Rage Against The Machine. What would that even sound like..? 🤔🤔🤔
Aw! A Birthday post, nice.
Thank you
Have u done MOSH?
He definitely went in on Bush & that was back in like 04.
He has always spoken on the government
Bush was a lunatic war mongerer, em to me was libertarian like...
I just find it funny Snopp Dogg hated trump... Now he's thinking of voting for him.
White America Pt.1
Mosh Pt.2
Same harmony peep it
I'm a big fan of your reactions on different things including songs. My question is if you have done a reaction on till I collapse from eminem. I looked for it but didn't see it?
i love the beat to the song
My boy cliff good work man love your videos bro you’ll always have my support as fan even through the BS with benzino and the haters bro 🖕🏽 the haters and if you aren’t subscribed to my boy Cliff Beats then subscribe Cliff is the real deal
I'm curious how many people are gonna say wtf is TRL. 🤣🤣
I live just north of Montana and have been into Rap/Hip-Hop since NWA, 2-Live-Crew, Public Enemy. Too $hort was my jam in middle school. Then I discovered NIN in 89/90 when the Head Like A Hole vid dropped on Much Music. When Em shouted out NIN in My Name Is I was hooked. It wasn’t even a Em vid, I found some vid of a Stereo Comp that was playing it with this crazy Sub Enclosure with the Spare spinning in the Hatch, it was a dope setup and I went into dB Drag the next decade got sponsored by big name Audio Companies it was lit. The only thing that sucked was I was really feeling unwell which led to me dropping out the final semester of the last year. I found out I had severe Crohn’s Disease. Please, I DO NOT want your sympathy.
I literally got made fun of and bullied for liking hip hop when I was a kid. Early 90s I would get made fun of for listening to “black music” (I liked digital underground, salt n peppa, that era) and I got shamed into missing most of the good stuff in the 90s. Em became our pass, it was only after him it became acceptable to go back and listen to Wu tang, Pac etc.
Cliff beats, Eminem just posted a video for his Infinite 2 album release but it was an April fools joke
❤....... HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURA🥂✌🏻💯🎂
Thank you
You should check out "Lady" with Eminem and Obie Trice off of the cheers album its a pretty fun track.
Eminem was able to bring social issues from the streets to the minds of suburban America pointing out injustices made we didn't realize we're so bad like with this song and darkness and mosh etc.
That's another thing I love about eminem cleaning out my closet explained the hatred he has for his mother and father that the public criticized him for 22:46 this song explains how his color allowed hip hop to expand into further demographics the line where he says if he was black he would have sold half isn't just because he's white but because he could infiltrate other demographics and cultures by being less threatening for lack of a better term. Dsrkness showed his concern for all the deaths by mass shootings and how things need to change remember this man has lost people near and dear to him due to gun violence so he is not speaking out of ignorance.... eminem listens to everything everyone says and he uses his music to answer to she'd light on his thought processes and hopefully bridge gaps between us....
I never gave this song much eartime because i am not american, but listening to it now thanks to you. Americans have a real race issue, it is sad. I am 50 and can name more black famous&rich successful americans than white though and i think you guys don't realise that Eminem is one of the few white famous americans that bridged the pond
Dude, I had a dream: Eminem is dropping a new album and in it, he is announcing that he will run to be President of America as a 3rd party candidate! xD
What you take before you fell asleep cause I want some. I wish!
Em is top 3 ever period
Slim brought something nobody had heard before. He was different. I was in my 30s when he came up. It was just like hard rock/heavy metal hit the scene. It was different. It was rebellion. The same s@@theads went after Ozzy and others in the 80s. Yes, white in the hood wasn't easy.
We actually had a few white rappers in Denmark in the late 80s and 90s. But Denmark is very homogeneous, and at the time like 98% where white, so everyone from the ghetto, in gangs and on welfare and shit where white too. There where actually a huge gang war going on over all of Scandinavia between Hells Angels and a ton of other gangs that supported Bandidos, and they broke into military storages, and stole rocket launchers, grenades and other military grade gear. And would shoot rockets at each other on the highway, blow up eachothers clubhouses and shit, break into prison to get an opp by throwing grenades into his cell, and all of it was taken place between country borders from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
My friend found an excellent solution. She told her boys they could listen to all the rap music they want, just as long as it doesn’t have the N-word.
Immediately they said “But this is Doctor Dre! He can say that!”
She said “I don’t care who it is. I hate that word, and I’m not having it in my house!”
Now, how much rap music does that leave?
Genius 😅
Freash prince, young mc,tribe called quest, vanilla ice, eminem,RA the ruggedman lol not much options to be honest lol
Am i the only one who doesnt differentiate black and white in hip hop? But just listening to it because i like the genre?
Happy Birthday Laura
Thank you
💥💥💥💯
His blue eyes and his dimples wouldn't have helped ANYTHING if he didn't have both talent and something to say. Yes they helped him not just be another rapper - but in no way did they give him the talent that he fucking has
Eminem show pt.1
Encore Pt.2
Cliff, love your channel. I was an 80s kid. I kinda think Run DMC, Fresh Prince, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Beasty Boys and MTV brought hip hop to suburban kids. Maybe they didn't bring us all the way in, to the extent that Eminem did for 2000s kids, since we mostly went to Garth Brooks and grunge in the 90s. Anyway, I know kids of each decade aren't a monolith. Just thinking out loud.
He was smart like 3 rappers in one he was able to say certain things as Shady merrily like a ventriloquist a ventriloquist is able to do s*** a lot of other comedians can do or say the puppets are like their offer eagles
What up cliff beats
Eminem is the Goat 🐐 🔥
Eminem 😎 👍
Eminem killed it 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I like the song 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🎉❤
You are wrong. Hip-Hop was popular in the Burbs since the late 80s early 90s. Specifically Suburbs around the large Metropolitan Cities. True parents at the time didn't like hip-hop in the house or the Public Schools in the Suburbs. But the Suburban youth from that era were hooked to hip-hop! I agree that Small town small Suburbs in the middle of the 🇺🇸 at that time didn't really get a lot of heavy Hip- Hop Airplay, fan Support for the Simple fact The middle of America is mostly white. Except for Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Denver, Las Vegas, Kansas City, Phoenix, Minneapolis.
I wish you would explained TRL to these kids who have NO clue what this is...
You know I genuinely might take that advice and use it on my CZcams channel. By the way, do you use a website like Patreon or Buy Me a Coffee?
❤.....
There was a Canadian rapper that was very lyrical(Not Drake). His name is Maestro Fresh Wes. He was in late 80s early 90s. I would love you to react Let Your Backbone Slide. It was a hit in Canada and I think in the States. But I think he is worth listening to.
Em never really attacked dem presidents. He made fun of Clinton, but never viciously attacked him like he did the Bush’s, Chaney, or Trump.
I don't debate EM haters anymore because it is all emotion based arguememts. Numbers back him, global opinion back him, plaques and trophies support him. So... cry all you want ain't changing shit.
This song is a trip cause modern Eminem doesn’t have blue eyes…
