I love seeing a new video from you!! I can relate so much to what you’re saying about reselling affecting your mental health. When my sales are slow I get almost panicked and start thinking about ways I can liquidate some inventory. I actually sent 20 lbs of clothing to Thred Up today. I have almost 900 items in my closet. I’ve been reselling over 4 years and have hit a point where it’s no longer fun for me. Now, I just need to work on selling as much as I can over the next few months. My first grand baby was born last weekend and I’d love to be able to travel to see her as much as possible. I don’t want to feel stuck at home tied down to my business. Regarding reviews, I think buyers have gotten more critical. I’ve been able to maintain a 5 star review but about 90% of what I sell is new or like new. I will occasionally sell high demand items/brands with minor wash wear/flaws and disclose. I also ship same or next day. It seems like even some of the big resellers are stepping back and getting other jobs. Thanks for always giving us real and valuable information! I was at your last WN show and you were so fun to watch. Take care of yourself!!

Yeah, as you can see we are really harsh with reviews over here. It’s nuts! Try and shake it off, at the end of the day you’ll get way more 5 stars than not. ❤ As for vintage maxis, they sell Well here in the US! I always pick them up when I find them. I get anywhere from $50-$100 on them! I absolutely LOVE you’re short hair in a beanie! I’m tempted to get mine trimmed for the winter. GIRL! You’re sales are FIRE!!!🔥 Great job! I say you just pass on live selling🤣 ( you know how I feel about it) You’re doing so good with you’re 2 closets, I don’t think you need it. 😉 I would love to see what you find out about jeans! I sell a lot of Y2K flare styles for over $45 (old banana republic, j.crew and true religion). For Mens I sell a lot of Hugo Boss, Diesel and Everlane all straight legs for over $50. My sales goals this month are to stay consistent at $100-$150 a day. I’ve been pretty steady at that amount and feel comfortable with that zone. 👍🏼💕 I’m still trying to shrink my closet down to 500 and focused on picking up items I can sell for a profit of $35 or more.

I sold my first vintage sweater and took a risk on it as I was feeling confident and inspo’d from your own sales and it sold last week! It was a vintage Club Monaco heavyweight handknit sweater, at least I think it was likely late 90s, and I’m finding Wilfred items that are in great condition to sell. If it weren’t for your vids I’d have no idea about Wilfred and Free People and other luxe brands. As hard as it is, I’m passing up on old Lulu pieces now. I do the occasional vendors market and have been sort of ‘liquidating’ my old lulu for a fair price. Instant cash back in my pocket! As far as ratings go, although I do appreciate those 4 and 5 star ratings, I just don’t have time to look at them lol Always looking forward to your next video, take care and Happy Sales!😊

I’ve been bummed with my sales being down 70% some months from the previous year. Last week I only made $68, yikes! I miss the $400 a week I used to get on a regular basis in 2018-2021. But trends change so often it’s silly for me to compare last year in August to this year’s August sales. I’m down $4,000 net from last year so far & really hoping Q4 picks up. Last year it did not perform. I’m set to donate a few hundred items before January for a fresher start. I’m excited to let that depressing inventory go, lower my prices for almost half of the inventory I have left because it will be too outdated. I over-purchased & overpaid on Tjmaxx & Target pallets in 2021 & it’s not selling. By 2025 I’ll hope to have a more curated closet without bad buys hanging over my head.
Yesss I try to stay away from pallet purchasing. It’s so seasonal. I find thrifting I have so much more control over what I buy. I think a purge and start over will help you❤️

As far as your US less than 5 star rating, I wonder if it might be your ship time. US buyers seem to like a quick turn around.. same or next day. Just a thought. Hi, please, please, please ignore the rating system on Posh. I never look at it. If you know you are doing your best that is good enough. If your mental health is already struggling there is no need to worry about that.
Oh yes totally. I just found it interesting that I was recieving more 4 star ratings than in my canadina closet.
Honestly, I am a small US seller and how some of the US buyers behave is just plain embarrassing.
I totally understand where you're coming from with the mental health issues! I'm a nurse and I cut my schedule down to 2 days a week and I still can't deal with it. I have been threatened, yelled at, etc by so many patients and visitors. The doctors and PAs are so stressed out and they take it out on us. Management is giving out write ups for things not being done but we are so short staffed there's nothing we can do. I just need to get myself together and put in my resignation but I feel so crushed because I don't even know where I want to go in this field. It's pretty much impossible to get time off for mental health or any vacations. Reselling has been enjoyable but it was one of the reasons I was able to drop to part time so when I have slow sales it makes it that much worse.

Shipping? If you can ship same or next day it will affect the rating. Americans are so impatient!! If the customer sees the ship notification they can blame the post on how long it takes from there.

I only sell in US. The ratings given are ridiculous and people are SOOOO nit picky. Keep your head up the end goal is sales!!

I think Carhartt’s value has gone down in US. At least that’s my experience. I’ve only picked up a women’s canvas duck vest this year. I doubt I’ll pick up any jeans or pants anymore. I’ve had a Men’s Sz 3x coat for sale for 2 years.
I like selling the womens line, it does alright for me. Maybe try those??
I'm pretty sure Carhartt has started selling used Carhartt clothing now too. So people are sending in and we find less in thrift stores.
They are… but I think it has to be in pretty good condition. That may impact some items showing up for sure!

Please don’t feel bad about the lack of love notes. I, like many, cringe at “love notes” Poshmark REALLY needs to rename positive feedback. The name is cringey and frankly inappropriate.
I feel it is hard on posh US because of the ship time. I ship daily but it takes 2 days for the items to get to the cross boarder and scanned. My shipping time is 3.2 days so I get more 4 stars :( but there is not I can do about that. And YES it is so difficult getting love notes on the US side.

More people in US equals more chances of getting more reviews that are not as favorable. Or maybe those folks in Canada are just a lot nicer! I have great ratings on Posh, but I think that is because I rarely sell anything with a flaw on Posh. You still have great ratings though, so I wouldn't let that annoy you. I think it is normal to feel ups and downs in your business. Its like your own personal performance review all the time. If you are selling more, you feel better. Makes sense that you'd feel successful. I think as long as you keep learning and listing, you are doing well. As far as jeans go, I'd check out Levi's ribcage and wedgie styles as well as vintage Levi's and brands: Mother, Aviator Nation, AYR, GRLFRND, Agolde, Reformation, Doen, RE/DONE in wide leg, metallic or coated. It all depends on how much you can find them for and the profit margin you are hoping to get. Good luck in your journey!

I think you have to take the comments with a grain of salt. I got a great love note and the person gave me a 4 star. Then an issue with another and got a 5 star. Don’t think it makes sense sometimes. Also had a buyer go directly to posh instead of me with an issue with an order. I would have told them if they weren’t happy with the item return it. They said the colour was totally different from picture. I don’t look too much at the ratings anymore.

Hi! This is off topic of the video but please heeeelp 😂😂😂. I've had 3 people in the past week on poshmark tell me they "accidentally" made an offer (which I accepted) and want to cancel the order. The first time, no big deal, the 2nd time I'm annoyed but I cancel it. This third time I'm pissed! I list on multiple platforms so every time I have to relist the item's. I'm getting tempted to say oh well too bad but that's not my character. What do you do in those instances? Does poshmark have any penalties (like ebay) when the seller cancels an order? There's no option that says "member requests cancelation." ANY help is appreciated 😊
I sometimes think they do penalize. If I havent shipped I will cancel. I try to ship next day as well, so if its packaged by the door, thats shipped in my books. Otheriwse you can encourage them to opene a case and apprive in the case.

I noticed a direct correlation between reviews and ship time. When I was shipping 3 times a week I would get a lot of 4 star reviews or weird comments about my items. Since I switched to shipping daily I get 5 star reviews across the board and my weird comments are non existent. So it might be that your cross border shipping delays are affecting you. I wouldn’t worry about it too much since you’re a high quality seller but yeah, that would be my guess. By the time your buyer gets their item they’re just salty because they had to wait a few days for it 🙄

And I'm lucky if I get one a week! I even lowered my prices and the prices weren't even high. I don't understand. I really feel that these Posh Shows has cheapened the value of everything and you have to have really low prices so you need to shop at the bins to afford that but not everyone has a outlet location near them. It's ridiculous!!

Hey it’s Bethany @Bjwb1976 American posh I had some thoughts 💭 on Americans rating I noticed that they (most) want everything perfect like you are a store and that does suck 😢so I personally try to only post either NWT items or things that look EXCELLENT for example shoes I scrub them to look NEW I never post shoes that are have any DIRT at ALL that could be removed or I don’t buy them. I also have to send extras like pens and stickers and hand written letters just to get a rating & love note LUCKILY I have only had one under 5 stars 🎉
