Extremely excited to host Indian MARCOS Veteran Vijaypal Rawat on the show. My team and I have always dreamt of guests from the army background and especially were looking forward to Vijay sir being our first-ever from the Indian MARCOS. He joined the National Defence Academy and was soon commissioned into the Indian navy, where he specialized as a Mine Clearing Diving Officer. He later become part of the elite special forces of the Indian Navy (MARCOS) in 1992. The way Vijay sir commands himself is something I personally look up to.
In this stellar episode of The Ranveer Show, we spoke about the humility of the PARA-SF, underwater explosives, the importance of the Indian navy, and other geopolitical powers. We also covered aspects of the 26/11 Mumbai Terror attack, near-death experiences & experiences with sea animals.
It was a huge honour to have this conversation with Vijay sir. From my team and myself, we salute all the people from the army, navy & air force of India to have served the nation. Jai Hind!

The sailor who entered the room is MARCOS Praveen Teotia . Not only military hero but a real life hero as well Ranveer should invite him as well . He was shoted resigned from navy started new life when he was badly injured,. He ran triathlon and won after all this such a brave guy. 🙌🏼

NSG commandoes are undoubtedly one of the best anti terror operational forces in the world but MARCOS commandoes are the top most elite special forces in the world who can be made to rank against Navy Seals, Spetznaz or SAS.

During 26/11 the union minister Shivraj Patil made NSG wait for hours cuz he wanted to fly with them to Mumbai. They were late by atleast 2hrs which as commando sir said was a crucial time. He wanted to change to situation appropriate clothes.

Shivraj Patil, the fact that NSG wanted to bring Marcos under their operational command on November 27, 2022 morning after reaching there, the fact that it took Rakesh Maria the JCP Mumbai police who reached out to the navy directly rather than there being a chain of operational command. All were responsible.

One thing is clear that India was not ready in 2008 for such counter terrorist operations. A lot of learnings and changes have been made since 2008. Our brave forces are now much better prepared for such things. Also it was intelligence failure from our intelligence agency

Marcos were and are always prepared for such situation. Because of MARCOS we could handle this so well otherwise it could have gone much worse
People don't know facts....it wasn't an intelligence failure....Both CIA and RAW alerted our PMO before the attacks...the then PMO just didn't take the warning serious enough
Majority of the staff there were wards of ex army officers, including the general manager.
Baffled to know that when this life or death situation was faced and tackled by our commandos, I was sleeping peacefully not more than 10 kms away. Really puts things into perspective.

MARCOS.. not many know about this lethal Indian Navy special force. Because they themselves never came out in any media. Reason being you are able to watch this video is because Recently Indian Navy has decided to let them go public and talk about the force and its training and its operations. Being a son of retired Navy officer I feel so proud and connected. Also I have stayed in the area for 3 years as my father was posted where MARCOS training centre is based.

My sincere regards to all the forces involved in this operation on that grim night . I remember to this day the efforts put everyone that responded to this event . Including my own father who was assistant commissioner of police at the time .
The operation carried out by the NSG and the Marine units was impeccable. Cannot thank them enough. Sincere condolences to our Constable who sacrificed his own life doing what he did.

Being a son of Indian Navy officer I grew up among these people and I knew about MARCOS involvement since 2008 but I agree normal civilain people didn't even know what MARCOS means forget knowing about their involvement. Indian Navy MARCOS are regularly involved in special operations in Kashmir since late 80's till today. But Indian Navy deliberately kept this force as one big secret and only recently Indian Navy PR team has decided to open up to people about them so that people learn and know about this lethal force which safeguards them secretly in shadows like a ghost

No disrespect but we were unprepared.. whole world including army knows it..and it's a landmark learning process for the special forces around the world how not to REACT under such situation.
Indeed. I also wonder how many operations the MARCOS mess up. The Indian army including the SF still has an insane lack of equipment. I've seen better equipment on the Philipines special forces. Most of the Indian Army looks like a ragtag group of soldiers. I'm not hating but these guys are a joke. And as a taxpayer and someone who depends on them for security, it scares me.
We were prepared but due to some unknown story this happened. If you want to know about that unknown story that happened on 26/11 read 'Who killed karkare'
I say this respectfully and mean no disrespect to Indian police or military -
I am a retired police commander from California in the US. I remember watching on the news how the incident was responded to, and I felt genuine anger and embarrassment at how Indian forces responded. Police officers actually RAN away from the danger, instead of running towards it. There was a lot of cowardice on display.
When I used to teach active shooter response and tactics, one of the case studies was this incident and how to NOT do what was done there.

The SOP for Breaching at night is to cut the power. Reason is very simple - Special forces, are equipped with vision devices. Not only do these work best in the dark, the opposition 9 times out of 10 doesnt have them.
You Lay down a cordon so that no authorised personnel aren't in the vicinity to cause chaos and only after you are ready do you breach. You never use weapons like a frag grenade in a room where you are not certain of civilians being present, some might be injured. You never discharge a weapon without a target in your sights.

Just a small correction.... it is cama hospital....not Sion hospital.....btw horrible memories.....i was there around 7...7.30 at cst, pretty normal as usual.., reached home by 8 to 8.30, father told something happened at cst...its on the news.....its took some days to get normal at cst 😳 God bless to our all security forces.....
