Kurt loved Public Enemy and was seen in their tent at the Reading Festival, where Nirvana co-headlined with Public Enemy and the Beastie Boys. P.E.’s 1987 album is on Kurt’s list of his top 50 albums. He was a fan of rap, but found a lot of it too misogynistic. Couldn’t imagine him dropping a mixtape in the late 90’s.

Nirvana made simple, yet catchy and meaningful songs that made the listener feel a connection to the songs. It's inspiring, really. That's why Kurt is so well known even among the current generation. So many artists from so many different genres cite Nirvana as one of their biggest influences, it's extremely clear the impact Kurt, Dave, and krist left with that band and by extension, Dave impacted the music world further with the foo fighters.

I don’t just think I know Kurt would’ve LOVED this….I remember reading an interview with Dave Grohl & he said that right as Nirvana was blowing up they were on tour somewhere in the States & a young black guy recognizes Kurt & approaches him to tell him how much of a fan of his music he was & after the interaction Kurt was a little confused but still just over the moon with happiness & he told Grohl “that’s the 1st time a black person has told me they like my music” & was ecstatic about it so imagine if he saw this? 🥶🖤

I think alot of people front about Nirvana. I don't want to take away anything from curt and his legacy but his literal influence was just a few years. Like can yall list how many albums nirvana had. He was gone so fast its so sad. His death... well I've never seen a music artist EVER be more immortalized and turned into a martyr than Kurt Cobain is.. is just wild I guess I'm saying it seems like people gravitate to the image not the music
