Risk is not the worst, but it's up there. The first person eliminated feels sad, but they get to sit on the couch and watch tv while the rest of the family bickers about the rules lol.
Games with a lawless rule set are usually the most brutal. The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls has so many different cards, items, interactions, enemies, bosses, and events that can make everyone mad at eachother
My family ended up banning the game Risk because of how argumentative it made us, every time we have played Risk it is ended with somebody flipping the table
For my family I'd say growing up it was Monopoly, then Canasta. Now it's mostly this card game called Five Crows. Thing is I really do love Scattergories too and I make my mom play it with me sometimes so yes 😂 Though I think it would be worse if it was a bigger group of my family playing it.
We quit playing table games in my family long ago exactly for this reason. Even boring games like Trivial Pursuit were taken so seriously that we looked like we were in a warzone! Luckily now everyone does their own fckng what-they-want at night 😂
Simple, just assign the family member that doesn't really wanna play to be the impartial judge. They'll spend time with the family, and doesn't have to play "that stupid game", and might be sorta engaged, and then you have an authority figure that's the deciding vote if there's a disagreement
That, monopoly, uno, and phase 10 can get any family member in a bad mood.
