The problem wasn't Ukraine, it was funding for the US border, OUR border was blocked. Plus CIA admitting the corruption that eats huge chunks of the aid, bad Leaders who theaten volunteered troops for bribes, then waste them intentionally for propaganda or incompetence... When the CIA thinks corruption is too high it must be insane.

Better late than never, it's a shame these fronts in Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan have become "political." Johnson saw this and realized they could not play this game much longer. I think the Dems will save him when MTG moves in on his impeachment.

I remember this man. 2022 when we thought Kiev was about to fall he was waiting for the RuZZians to come with a gun in his hand. He does not like Zelensky but in 2022 he remained fiercely loyal. A dissenting Poroshenko would have been extremely dangerous to Ukraine but he was loyal. In those days we all did see that Ukrainians can be outstandingly brave. Also: It was on his watch when the ukrainian forces were reshaped and reorganized. 2014 the army was brave and inept. 2022 the ukrainian soldiers were Spartans and Athenians altogether. Fierce and smart.

Poroshenko and Zelenskyy are political rivals. But you don't need to be political friends to fight for the same cause in defending your country against an aggressor. It's an existential crisis. Their political differences won't matter if Russia wins and Ukraine becomes a vassal state like Belarus.

Places like Svalbard will be invaded as a test of NATO resolve and a resource/territory grab from Norway. It truly is not enough, Ukraine was left for 6 months without help, and its resources have been depleted. My pariah is Mike Johnson and MAGA, Trump, in this respect. The EU and other Western countries have not stepped up as they should. Thanks Kate, an interesting conversation, from a direct perspective. Although your question about whether he would welcome the opportunity to defend himself in court could have been worded differently. The right of reply is the 3rd pillar of the concept of natural justice our system is based on. But I wouldn't welcome having to do it in court, except as a last resort, because it taints the context. I think He has a strong point about the Russian's influencing and turning politics into a quagmire, to suit themselves, using misinformation propaganda and deception, as for example they have done so publicly to intrude in the US system, media and Congress. You could ask the same type of question to Fox in the US, they should be ashamed to be Russia's mouthpiece .

I hate when journalists take pop shots just to get a name for themselves. This man's life along with all the other Ukraines are at risk. And the fact that he's stayed in Ukraine during this war should give him amnesty, forgiveness and pardons. It's sickening to hear the journalist go after him, makes my stomach churn that the good conversation is turned into a totally uncomfortable one. Shame on you Miss Journalist. To bait and switch in the middle of an interview is the most rotten trick you can do to someone by putting them on the spot. I'm an American looking at this behavior from afar and it sickens me! Do a separate interview if you want to question him on his personal past. Boris told pres Z to abandon the nearly completed U/R conflict resolution, and puppet pres Z obediently walked away from the settlement on the table. Western countries believe that it is only a matter of a good package of weapons and ammunition, they forget that the invaders had almost last year to fortify themselves in addition to an arsenal that seemed unlimited. The Ukrainians are slow but they must think that Ukraine is the battle line of all of Europe, without it they would quickly reach the Baltic countries, Moldova, Poland and others.
