- I got my hands on a set of Swampers early, it’s time to hit the red sandstone rocks and see how they perform! These large aggressive tires look awesome mounted up and quickly give an awesome impression of how much traction they were ready to offer!

The more I watch your videos the more I want one of these scx6’s I wasn’t a fan at first but you sure have made me one!
Those tires make a huge difference. Nice driving.
My first upgrades were a Treal bumper mount so I could mount a servo winch, Treal shock mounts for a stronger panhard mount and CC BEC Pro. I made a custom wiring harness for the batteries so I can have two batteries plugged into the harness and a pair of plugs I can access under the truck to plug in a jumper to connect the batteries to the ESC. No need to pull the body off to swap/ unplug the batteries. Next up is a stronger servo and a trailer hitch receiver for a custom trailer to pull my UDR.
The plastic in this truck, doesnt really break (which is good) but it has a TON of flex! The stock servo is not all that bad, but the panhard mount and the mounts on the axle, including the servo mount... move around like crazy! My first upgrade was a better servo (I went with direct power) and a "metal" front axle, and alloy shock mounts just to tighten things up. Threw some overdrive gears from Treal and I was pretty set

I've been waiting for these to be released... I've had the TSL SX's on my full size truck for 20 years and they are my all time favorite trail tire
@westdesertwheeler great videos on the scx6, love it so much I got a lightly used one today. I definitely plan on getting these tires soon along with either steady foams or 3 brothers anti foams. I put a castle bec on it today for the steering servo at 7.4v, big difference, Holmes rx bypass harness for bec. Esc doesn't dip in power now, no brown out. Aluminum shock towers soon hopefully and maybe a stronger servo.

Great Video, helping me make up my mind if i want an SCX6
I’ve done hyrax on aluminum wheels with anti foams, mounted a pro line ram xmaxx body, took out the inner fenders, cut down the stock sliders, bumpers, and mounts to tuck them in. Made it a complete different animal. Fits in so many more places and difficult lines now.

Good job on that mousetrap entrance Logan ! What a beast of a truck . I'd be super interested to see a scx6 with 4ws but it's probably more of a novelty than anything else on a truck like that.

For my 6 (which has only had 2 short runs on it so far)... I've picked up Wheels, antifoams, Swampers, new servo, OD gears, Hi Clearance links. I think that is it so far. On the "thought" table is a set of wheel flare deletes and new sliders. I'm sure there is more to come as I figure things out.
An oddball mod was I ordered the softer springs from axial to lower the truck and help cog

I cut off the top but added magnets to allow it to be added back on when I want. I also swapped in metal sliders that are tucked to the body for better clearance. I've also added metal 5 Club bumpers, Hirax, and dual motor winch. Currently waiting on my tsl's and dual stage foams. I fear that the weight would cause excessive wear with overdrive gears.

I deleted the slipper clutch. A 8mm pinion will go right on the shaft. I ordered these tires. Can't wait to try em out.

If you review your own video, you will remind yourself how much you like these tires in every class that was talked about. After trying multiple tire types myself, I use the TSL Super Swamper in most cases. The side lugs are a tough one to beat, but little talked about center tread, has that all time ground contact that makes me a believer. Great job! Very entertaining!

You can groove them. I don’t see how it would really help
Loved everything about this video, the truck, the terrain, the driving, and Sidney. I want to get a Honcho SCX-6 but there's nowhere to drive it around here that would take advantage of it's size.
i went with treal axle housing, wheels, shock towers and chassis braces along with vitavon OD and heavy duty standard gear for rear diff, spektrum s9120bl servo direct power with castle bec and i chopped the roof off the body. also have proline dual stage foams and 3bros rc anti foams so i'll be able to run the stock tires with anti foams and the tsl super swamper with the dual stage foams. the scx6 is such a bad ass rig and this video proves it. i also put high clearance links and the fender eliminator from club 5 and rock sliders from vitavon and swapped the bearing kit to sealed bearings. I have them on my 6
Was thinking of siping the mid blocks a bit did that on my 10 scale swampers and made a huge difference on slippery or hard rocks( bit like snow tires work) not siping all tbe way to the tire bed...just like 1 or 2mm deep sips so the blocks stay strong but the sipes just help gripping better...

Just finished installing castle mamba x esc with 3 Brothers new black jacket 1280kv motor!
But at the moment I am finishing the install of a 1/5 scale axle mounted servo! With brass hub cabs and brass steering link bar

As far as performance upgrades go I've added Treal overdrive gears to the front axle, a 1/5 scale 60kg servo with and external BEC set to 8.35V, a Flysky GT5 transmitter to properly set servo endpoints, and some steering braces similar to what Exocaged RC made. I also taped off the vent holes on the stock wheels and it makes the stock foams much more tolerable. Dual stage foams or 3BRC Antifoams will be my next upgrade.
I really believe in vented tires. I tried to get Treal but they’re backordered at the moment

The TSLs are good for rocks. Boggers are definitely mud tires and are bad on rocks

I know the 1.9 version had a bead that didn't fit on all rims.
Do these have like a standard bead to fit Aloy rims wich are availeble for the six.

Man that is some excellent wheeling. I know you may like the foams, but the foams are too "inflated" for my taste. I like my rig to look like I've actually aired down like it does on my Jeep. Those tires do look really good on that truck though. A lot more realistic then I thought they would. I see a lot of rigs at Windrock with swampers on them.
I`m using the Anti foams, looks and feels like the real thing, less tire roll than the steady foams

What battery do you run in your SCX6 and what kind of runtimes do you get? Thinking about getting one but wanna spend some time out crawling. I don’t like going to spots for 30 minutes of runtime.
I run spektrum smart G2 5000 Mah 3S packs. I have 2 in the truck. It will go for 4-5 hours with both packs

I just put the Injora 6 piece aluminum beadlock wheels and their two stage foams...looks great but haven't had the chance to run on the rocks yet. Does better on the trails though. Helps keep the front end down better.

Proline tires really break my heart. In almost every tire test they fall short.

@@westdesertwheeler2666 fall short of other tire brands. Jconcepts, rc4wd, even gmade tires generally perform better. And usually not just by a little bit. Like in the last run there won't even be a proline tire because they sucked so bad. I love proline tires. I have 50 sets of them but dang lol.
you should try and fit an FPV setup to your 6 and get some driving video

Both are great but I personally like a little more speed than the fusion offers.
Fusion is fantastic for slow crawling!

A hundred bucks for 4 tires..... I'll stick with 1/10th, LOL.
Seems like they're a bit too bouncy... could work better with some deflation.
I highly suggest the Spectrum DX5C radio. That radio will give you more data and the ability w/ an electronic switch to remotely turn on/off the lights. Oh yeah, the Spektrum lipos are juuuuuuunk, I've had 6 go bad with a dead cell in less then a years time.

Proline really needs to change away from the G8 compound! Its very very very old technology considering where the hobby is at today.
