I am a gay man who grew up in NYC in the 70s. I really hoped that the disco, tea dance, glamping, drag queen, house queen thing would die out but like a vampire from the grave it will not let go. The old queens won't let go of the narrative and young gay men are still 'taught' that hooking up and Broadway musicals and female icons are the only way to be 'gay'. Fortunately a big subculture of young masculine gay men have rejected this and live in the real world. I'm happy for these guys and for anyone who finds love but my God they are vapid.
When I saw your "We Are Leaving Provincetown", my first thought was REALLY!! I have just started to follow your journey and now you're leaving Ptown for good. So pleased to be completely wrong. Looking forward to forthcoming instalments. I can't wait to be back in Provincetown hopefully next year. In the meantime have a great season guys.
