    Michelle Yeoh is born as Malaysian and grown up in Malaysia, so of course she knows much about malay language ekwkkw

    It’s kinda funny because singaporean language originates from malaysia just as the land. But at the same time, Singapore has also become it’s own country. Awkward

    You can tell that Michelle Yeoh and Henry Golding are SEA people, specifically Malaysians because they're aware of these terms. Just commenting this in light of the whole simu Liu comment and some woke non-asians tried to speak about the Asian-Ness of Henry Golding just because he's half white despite him being able to speak Malay and actually from Malaysia.

    My cousin grew up in Singapore but she was born here in the Philippines. She switches between Manila girl and Singlish effortlessly. Watching this makes me so proud to be a Southeast Asian!

    I grew up in Indonesia, and close to my place we have a very famous seafood restaurant which I enjoy personally. Don’t like eating the chilli crab though hahaha

      Singapore is malay too. Other than english's official n wide spoken today. Singapore doesn't have bahasa singapura. Its Malay. Or China / India. Or just English!

      makan is from the same language root. so it can be Indonesian, malay, brunei. sama aja, sama je. and makan is not slang, but normal word to say eat

    You shouldn't include Michelle and Henry because they both are Malaysian, so of course they know those words.

    Lah is actually written in the dictionary Kamus Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka
    Usually used at the end of the word to strengthen a sentence. But for local people both Malaysian n Singaporean we used lah for literally everything.. With that sometimes it kinda lost its meaning along the way. And has becoming more of a rojak words.
