Easy to understand great demo and best of all no awkward um, Et, ah etc. watched guy from Pennsylvania almost same title but he only showed how to load but the demonstration was very poor. Didn’t make any mention of rope size requirement.

@@TheHunter46176 Thanks for the reply! Just ordered the Petzl OK Carabiner upon your recommendation. Last question- have you ever ran stealth striping or anything on the carabiner to knock down metal on metal tinging with the Mad Rock/Carabiner contact?
I have but it wears off and leaves a sticky residue. I currently use nothing. If anything I would use the camo bandage tape. You know what im talking about. I use nothing though.

1 stick or 4 sticks there is no safer way down a tree in the dark
What length is the back up loop? And have you tried using a sewn in eye as an auto block? And what diameter are you using?
I bought the 19, but the 13.5 would work too.

@@TheHunter46176 thank you, I am using a ditsel friction hitch for my repel and it has been slipping only when I need to remove my stick so I want to try a back up.

Or if you’re a climber or know a climber. You can use a petzl gri gri. The industry standard for a locking belay device. Backed up with a figure 8 on a bite.
Yeah there are tons of options out there. I only have experience with the Madrock.
Comparable product from Petzl would be Grillon, not Grigri.
I’m a new saddle Hunter have a couple questions how long is the hollow block where are you linked it to your side? Rigged it up from below with a second carabiner. I’ve been using the hollow block above the Mad rock and I hate it! Because it’s just a mess of ropes, And also to repel down the tree now you’re using your left hand to pull the Madrock lever as well as a piece of para cord and another clip….. it’s hard to run both smoothly to because I’m new and I had enough practice but it is not my first choice I love your idea of hooking up the hollow block to a second carabiner. You have to keep your hand on the roap anyway you may as well be moving the hollow block down with your right hand….that seems much smoother. I’m going to try it,
are you not worried about the Molly side gear Lupe giving out in the event of a failure to your Madrock?
And why wouldn’t you use the lineman’s belt loop instead?
Get the 13in hollow block. Mines a little too long. You could hook it to your linemans loop instead. Like I said mines long so I have to keep it further down my side as to not get it near the device.
What are your thoughts on using a max rock on a bridge to make it adjustable for SRT climbing then longer for hunt set up?
I wouldn't do it myself. But have heard of people using things such as a kong duck, ct roll n lock, or a ropeman 1.

I’ve been climbing down out of tree stands in the dark for 30 years I’ll never do it again… never, once you get past the original fear of repelling it is by far the only way to go and I feel way more secure and safe in fact it should be mandatory for Treestand Hunter’s to have a way down in the event of any gear failure to your climb sticks. I’m new to Saddle Hunting I cannot understand why anybody would just use a short tether instead of a canyon rope and get all the way to the ground or sit down on your way down while you’re removing your sticks we’re 30 years behind here in Canada but I’m catching on

Are you pulling on your brake end really hard?
@@TheHunter46176 I would like to think so. But maybe not hard enough. I will try it next time I have it out.
@kevinvargason8835 theres the key. Dont pull on the brake end. Just hold it. Your not going to plummet unless you just let go of the brake.
