    I am impressed. HS 6 is what I have loaded for heavy field. It is the old WW540 powder I believe Tyler. You guys groups are 5 Star , it is possible the forcing cone area etc was getting a little fouled on the 100 yard shots but that is really stretching a smooth bore. Nice reloads and a great job.

    That’s very good groups in Smoothbore . Also wanted to say yes do some hunting videos with the recent field loads you put together . Say squirrel season comes in and couple good squirrel hunts, or rabbit too. Maybe Josh doing some deer hunting with some slug loads you men put together .

      It is very cool to see stuff from reloading bench to field application.

    I am definitely going to buy some of the thug slugs they look to be an outstanding option. Great video

    awesome guys! you prolly lost a seal on 1 of those rounds.

      I think so because it happened with the ultra slug too. One shot went super high for no reason too.

    I got some of these for 410 until I can get and mold to do my own.
    Most likely will get the noe Diablo 410 mold here soon.

    Good video! I like the Thug Slug, but at 75 cents each, I'll stick with pouring my own. I would put that chrono on a tripod to isolate it from the motion of the table when you fire. It probably affects the readings a bit. I live in KY too, and you're right, it's been hotter than a dog's breath here for the past week!

    Have the same roll crimper in 10 gauge. It works great.

      @@theshotgunscientists I need one for 12 but it's still cheap enough to buy ammo in 12 so I haven't messed the caliber

    This type of round is like a hollow point for self defence but for a shotty

    I’m going to have to get some of those slugs. Dove season is coming up how about some simple 12 ga 2 3/4 7 1/2 shot loads or something like that.

    Are you measuring your groups to the outside of the holes or the centers of the holes? I couldn't tell. They seemed to like that velocity for the mostpart

    • @theshotgunscientists
      @theshotgunscientists  Před měsícem

      We normally do outside rings of the holes, we should go off center but some people tell us that’s wrong lol. Can’t win either way but I’m sure you know how that goes too. Thanks for watching man.

      @@theshotgunscientists The 12 ga slug shouldn't be hampered because of its large bore size. If you had the exact same grouping with a .22, it would be much tighter if measured it that way.

    Looks similar to the gecko competition slug. One of the few slugs I've tried that works well in smooth and rifled barrels. I just haven't been able to find the components to make them.

    • @theshotgunscientists

      I don’t think they come separate

      @@theshotgunscientists Somewhere there were copies of these slugs for sale, the only difference was the red coating. Unfortunately, the stock seemed to be sold out. With the right gunpowder loading, I would hopefully have gotten good results with them.

    Supper accurate smooth bore slug.. i wouldn't fix it.. lock that one down in the notebook. I've never been able to catch these available.. They're always sold out and i see why now.

    • @theshotgunscientists
      @theshotgunscientists  Před měsícem +1
