Gemini here - 1313 Dead End Drive was my favorite board game as a child. I thought of it as soon as I saw the 1313 caption, and when the Dead End card came out I was like "STOP THAT'S CRAZY". Then the Child card came out - and I was very overprotected by a helicopter mom like you mentioned. I'm currently experiencing a lot of fallout with her, to where I even had to threaten a restraining order... yet even so we are still trying to find reconciliation. I think we both know our relationship as we've known it is over, and it needs to be reborn with our efforts or else it dies forever.
The game is about 12 guests who come to the mansion of a departed rich *crone* named Agatha, and the will reading states that whoever survives the night gets to claim her entire fortune. Players are each secretly assigned the guests they need to keep alive, and if their guest is the survivor they win. However, everyone is able to control any of the guests througout the game, so while moving guests toward peril or safety gives obvious clues as to who probably controls who, bluffing is also a huge strategy: moving your guests toward peril with the intent to save them later, or moving other guests toward safety with the intent to bump them off later.
To me this ties back to a lot of those themes from the first reading about "The Self" and "The Unseen" - maneuvering my best intentions through the intentions of others regardless of whether or not I am able to discern or predict them.
There was also a mechanic in the game where a guest could leave the mansion - they're out of the running for the fortune but they're at least alive. In the context of the game, being alive means nothing - it's still a loss according to the rules. However, in my view abundance (a theme from the first reading) is the possibilities life can continue to afford you even when you give up lucrative opportunities that asked you to face major perils and risk everything you currently have. It doesn't really matter what you've missed out on and for how long, it matters where you go from here and now. You don't have to play by anyone's rules, but you do have to maneuver in the unseen within the confines of those rules that do exist around you... until you can finally escape them.
My mother has always been trapped in a world of her own making and she has fought to keep me in it, to the detriment of our relationship. I know what is better for me, and I will make it seen. I have taken off, and am building my best envisioned future with my own skills, relationships, passions, and willingness to learn... I'm not gonna die trying in a game of her design in which I am just a controllable pawn to serve others.
