- Secret Santa is back and this Christmas is bigger than ever!
The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local man gift more than $500,000 this holiday season. A lot more. Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and hopes to help as many people as he can.
We will be surprising deserving people and families every day from now until Christmas with gifts unique to their circumstances.
Diana Boldman and her husband, Cameron, are both 65. They wake up early every morning to deliver newspapers in a fairly large geographical area in Idaho Falls. They drive an old van that has almost 240,000 miles on it.
After the paper route, Diana goes to her full-time job at McDonald's. She is hoping to retire in the next few years but needs to work as Cameron is on disability and Diana provides for their needs.
Secret Santa heard about the Boldmans and asked the East Idaho News elves to drop by an early Christmas gift. Diana was preparing french fries when we showed up at McDonald's. Watch the surprise in the video player above!
I used to be a manager at this McDonald’s 8 years ago. I worked with Diana all the time. She was so sweet and all the customers loved her! I remember when my wife had a baby, she knitted the baby a wash cloth. So happy to see this happen to her!
Thank you for sharing sweet story.
That's adorable!
that is really cute. knitting something comes from the heart
Awesome
Mate ..i lost my mum in 2002 ,i'd happily have Diana in my life end of x
This lady just oozes “Grandma” vibes, bless her soul. Hope she can one day rest.
Exactly ❤️❤️
yes... she's such a sweet lady
Yup. It's about that time she gives her job to a kid holy shit. Just put her down ..
J Paulin-When my granny got social security yrs ago it was nothing but chicken feed. Right now she is working, so her and her husband can retire in a couple yrs. As sweet as she is, I can picture her volunteering somewhere. I hope her and her husband can do that soon.
@@jpaulin2376 Your comment is so sad.
May your eyes be opened to see and your ears be opened to hear..
This secret Santa person is a wonderful person. God bless him.
How do you know?
@Moses Mill It sucks to be so bitter. It will be hard for you to ever be truly happy or peaceful. Good luck.
@Moses Mill I don't even know how to respond to something so stupid
No one more deserving to be blessed, secret santa
@@ephemeralenhancement9445 what did he/she say?
This is the kind of woman who lives to 110 and makes the sun shine brighter.
She's 65 and looks 85, unlikely she'll live to 110.
This is a beautiful comment.
We are doing something wrong here in our country when a woman this age still has to work.
Pretty common for people to work their entire life and retire in their 60’s lol. Unless your dealt a good hand and have the ability to retire young..bless her though for still getting after it and not complaining.
Keep voting for stupid Democrats and this is what we get...
@hey hai Feel free to leave at any time.
people just voted in 4 more years of this.
@MrGameRat You're wrong.. facts are people who didn't plan ahead have to work until they're much older than the age of retirement. Luck plays a role and I am not going to fault them for however their lives turned out. How is the 401k flawed? Employees can save .. and hopefully corps match their savings. Why is it that idiots always think that gov should cover every aspect of life? There are already safety nets provided by gov. Tax cuts have helped 3 years of economic boom. So yes, I am in favor of any tax cuts cuz' that's really $$ taken from people/corporations and giving it to Gov.
OMG, bless her heart! This woman should not have to be delivering papers and working a minimum wage job at her age in the hopes of retirement. Glad she was able to be a recipient of SS!
Agreed!
Yea well, welcome to the New Age.
Then again, there are people that like to have a paperroute (i have 2, and start at 04:00 till 07:00 and i'm only 49). You can enjoy the quietness in those hours and clear your mind. Often you see things people don't see during the day as well and you work out a little too (walking, riding the bycicle etc)
Agree. The corpirations want us to work till we drop
I agree, in theory, but she seems "old school" (like me and many others born before the 70's & "people power" etc) where putting in a daily grind to survive/get by isn't really much of a hardship because we were brought up that way and are used to it. That said...........
I don't want to sound critical on this but there's no other way I can express it - I think they got it wrong on this occasion (the car that is). No I'm no specialist, no professional... just an observant individual who has concerns for the safety of *everyone*. It appears her eyesight is fading or needs "attention". She can't see over the bonnet/hood. And the "old girl" has done many, many miles (not just the old vehicle) - for me they only need the car "for work" - she is only working to keep the car on the road and save for retirement
Maybe I'm too judgmental or overly cautious but replace the car with those "topped up cards" (or similar) would be my choice.
THIS BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES. Bless the Secret Santa. No one at her age should be working at McDonald's.
well unless she wants to, a lot of retired people go to work in these places just to get out of the house and feel useful again, though that does not seem to be the case with her it is possible that some people her age want to work :)
@@supposedly1-2 Yes, but why not just have hobbies and interests?
No one of any age should have to work at McCrappers.
Yes! Exactly what I thought! Dear lady!
Agreed.
What a deserving women. I can’t believe she is working that hard of a job. Fast food isn’t easy to do.
And the Main Stream Media keeps telling us, no American wants to work in Service Jobs!
The customers love her. I bet you she enjoys being appreciated.💕
My parents are her age, and I would have been absolutely heartbroken if they had to deliver papers and my mother worked at a minimum paying job like this at mac donalds. And yet this is the story for so many in this world. So happy to see that she'll get a good start to the holidays.
Me too. This speaks volumes about the need to change the system, because there is no reason a woman at her age should be working like that.
many of us have to with family who could care less, so GOD bless YOU!!
@@vetpetmom7173 How sad. So sorry to hear.
Sadly, this is the life of many seniors now. They cannot make it on Social Security, and many had low paying jobs all their lives and could not save or invest for retirement. God bless that Secret Santa.

I feel really ashamed of myself right now. We complain or search for excuses to avoid so many minor obstacles in our lives. But look at her. People like them deserve these miracles. I'm not from USA. Still I feel these videos as my own. Who ever donate these gift, pls keep doing it. Though I'm not a rich guy, I still wanna give as much as I can to people those who are in need. This is a very good message to the whole world. Respect! And yeah.... couldn't resist my tears
Very well said and completely agree!
Hello to you from Deland, Florida.

Happy Holidays from Nebraska, U.S.A.
Help a senior...drop off a food bag, rake leaves, leave a card with some cash....anything is a Good thing 😄🙏😄🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I 100 percent cried. She's so sweet and hard working. It's sad the elderly all over have to work like this.
People this age should not be working, least of all two jobs at a time. Anyway, thanks McDonald's for employing her, and this secret Santa is really awesome! Lots of blessings to you, whoever you are!
@once_upon_a_time in_a_land_far_far_away 😂 Dude, 60 year old's can totally drive. It just depends on the person. Most people are unable to once they reach their 80's. But 60 is fine.
My gramma drove till she was like 74
What's the alternative? Sitting on your ass? Even my late grandpa kept active in retirement.
@@pauljordan4452 One thing is sitting all day because of idleness and a very different one is to be forced to work because you need to make the ends meet

"The key is smarter than me." You and me both, hon, you and me both.
I hope she is doing okay and her and her husband are living their best life, i wish nothing but happiness and love for her.
She's had a rough one. She's in her 60s but seems much older. Anyway, what a beautiful soul! ❤
She shouldn’t have to work at that age. It’s really nice that secret Santa is doing something good for her.
It really says a lot about America that grannies have to do a paper round and work at McDonald's just to survive.
I'm in my 50's doing custodial work. Not even health insurance (who can afford $200 / month on $11 / hr with all the other bills?). I don't see myself ever being able to retire either - barely any savings, and that's for "just in case". It's so common here in America though. Wealthy AF country, and people are struggling to survive.
It is nice of him but wait there is a system where you all can be secret santa to so much more people. It's called healthcare european/canadian style, pension etc. Just a little bit of your taxes going to this would mean a lot for a lot of people.
@@geertvaneyken9537 I would rather live in a country that has that too. But half of this country would go into high protest because they think their rights were being infringed upon. I don't get this country ... I really don't.
@Andrea Gomez it's hard to complain when no one listens and you get "suck it up" thrown back at ya.
I REALLY, REALLY want to see a follow up story on her!!!! As soon as she spoke, it broke my heart that she was working so diligently, yet was still so very content. She HAD to be in shock with the amount of the generosity.... because I sure am. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, Secret Santa and Nate amp it up!
(I can only speak for myself here, please chime in if you agree. I LOVE our elders!)
Our elders is our blessing and we should respect and take care of them.
Without our elders there would be no us
Again and again. We just love the East Idaho News team and their beloved Secret Santa's. May God Bless all of you.
This is well deserved by the sounds of it. Bless her! Bless the Secret Santa also.
Hello how are you doing 😊😊
She seems like a genuinely nice person. Very happy for her.
And i complain about going to work in my office job where i just sit all day at 27yrs old and here she is. Incredible. She truly deserves all the blessings.
I’m sobbing ( in a good way ) the woman sounds so frail ... why is she working 2 jobs at her age ( bless her ) ❤️🙏🏻❤️
Sarah Brennan. Yes mate, thats exactly what i felt, she seemed so frail, hopefully she can stop working ???, no way she's 60's more into her 70's, Cheers.
Malcolm. Wilson. Agreed.... hopefully she at home and not working this Christmas... Happy Christmas to you 🎄... have a good one in these strange times 🎅🎅🎄
She really does. I am 64 and work full time. I have a son who is still 18. My oldest boys are 38 and 34.
Donna Brown ❣️❤️❣️
Fred Neecha you said it.... She lived her life... the years went by ... and before she knew it she is in her sixties... feeling 21.... looking a lot older.... thinking.. where have the years gone.... Maybe the jobs she had... she couldn’t put money by .... ❣️
She is so old but still does all these things everyday. Youngsters, you have no excuse to just sit at home now. Bless her soul ❤
How do you know she was working hard in her younger years? A lot of people were lazy/crazy during their younger years (so without savings) and ended up having to work harder to survive in their last years. I don't mean to assume anything but neither should you. If she's been working that hard her whole life, you should be questioning the system instead of telling others to work HARDER, there's something wrong about you.. have you had lazy kids sitting at home or what?
60 is not old. Her health does not seem very good though.
@@Strike6tuts You've just made an assumption about her productivity, offcourse without intent...
@@explorelondon3695 do you know possibilities is? I guess not..

Younger people complain about work look her and her husband in their 60’s working two jobs. This was so well deserved.
We complain because we don't want to see people this age forced to work. Better working environment and compensation is what we're asking. Everyone deserves to retire comfortably.
because they didn't work when they were younger
@Nick Miller Well, since you use the word illegals in that manner, I would not be able to have an intelligent conversation with you. Not worth explaining.
Patricia Hayashi, What's your point...?...young people should be in school and elderly comfortably retired.
