Thank you for not being another Travel Agent "review" video!
Haha of course! We had noticed that many of these resorts had those same bland travel agent walkthroughs. Glad you enjoyed!
I'm going there in a week! Thank you for this review, I can't wait even more!
Was there in late 2015, have been a lot of places but it sticks out as one of the most memorable.
Very nice! This is one of the best video reviews I’ve found about this resort. Thanks so much!
Thank you for the kind words! Glad it was helpful and hope you enjoy your vacation!!!
Your video was awesome 👌🏽 not your typical walkthrough. Thank you for sharing your experience and the foods, lol. I was hoping to find a video reviewing the foods, it is what I care a lot about.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Food is always high on our list, as well. If you're looking for good food at an all inclusive resort, Zilara is probably the best we have had!
Cancún ,puerto Vallarta, Mérida Yucatán, Acapulco, baja California en los cabos etc excelentes playas de México bello MÉXICO 🇲🇽❤❤❤
Great Video! Gonna put this resort our list. And you're right, it's awesome with the short flight from the great State of Texas!
Thank you! Absolutely, we find ourselves all too often in Mexico which is never a bad thing!
Great video. Appreciate the upload was looking at honeymooning here in October. Would be my first time.
We are sure you and your partner would love it!!
Solid review!
My wife & I visited for our 1 year anniversary back in 2016. Looks like they changed the name of the beach restaurant from Pelicano's to Punta Vista.
One thing I'm surprised that wasn't highlighted is the AMAZING sunset views you get from the infinity pool up at the gym that overlooks the inland lagoon.
Be sure to check out Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall (our favorite) & the other all inclusive locations!
Thank you! Yes, we didn't find the gym/pool until our last day but instantly realized we missed out on a killer sunset spot. Guess we'll just have to visit again!
Rose Hall is certainly on our destination list! Look forward to visiting there and other all inclusive resorts to put out more videos in the future!
I remember it as Pelicano’s from 2015 too... looks the same tho
Wonderful
Chase UR Points are INCREDIBLE. We are going here on our honeymoon thanks to them
Ye, they are so valuable! We have definitely been trending toward using them exclusively for Hyatt stays but have also used for business class flights in our early uses. Other than the honeymoon, have you had any other great redemptions to this point?
@@StNickTravels So far just different Hyatt hotels. I always check for flights but haven't come to use them for them yet because I cant beat the Hyatt redemption rate
Totally get that! Cheers to new adventures in 2023!
Wow this resort is a direct steal of the Hilton (formerly The Royal in downtown PDC.) and right next door to the Hyatt thereat.
The hotel look, architecture, railings, columns, art statues, restaurant names etc etc. ,……it’s all The Royal.
I guess….it’s nice to see the look of the grand old girl endure at a new location in the Hotel Zone.
Back in the day, The Royal was the best. So I hope Hyatt can live up to the standard set by The Royal in PDC.
Are the restaurants included with the all inclusive dose it coast extra for the buffet and sports bar and restaurant or can you go there anytime and eat as much as you want how dose it work
Yes, it is all included for free at the hotel! I believe there was just one restaurant that was a separate fee. Everything else, all of the bars, buffets, and restaurants, are all included! Cheers!
Have they cured the overbearing heat in the main building at night ?, had a lovely two week stay here but the lobby and sitting area was HOT!
We don't think there has been any change to the lobby area as it was all open air. We found it to be nice with the ocean breeze but we're also from Texas so it was pleasantly cooler for us!
Great video! Thinking of going next year on Chase points. Was your upgrade based on Hyatt status, your channel or just luck?
I actually think the room we were in was a base room! We didn't have status and never mentioned our CZcams so if anything else it would have been luck! We checked in early though and few available rooms so I think it was just one of the base options.
@@StNickTravels How cool! Your video reinforced us wanting to go. Thanks!
Hello I am new to all inclusive resorts. I was wondering if this includes airplane tickets and how did you get to the resort
Hi Oscar! This would not include flights or transportation and no all-inclusive would include those items. All-inclusive really means that the food and drinks are included in the stay. The only cost you would really need to consider during your stay would be tips.
Both the flight and the transportation from the airport would cost you separately.
Please let us know if you have any other questions!
Going in October!! We went last year in September but that pool behind the restaurants wasn’t opened, do you pay extra to use that?
Also did you pay for the beach & pool cabanas ? I remember some being free but some you had to reserve for pool party etc.
Hey Ana! So exciting for you all to be able to revisit!
The pools by the restaurants seemed open to anyone! Truthfully, we did not even notice them until the last day so we didn't get in but everything was on and no signs suggesting otherwise.
Many of the cabanas remain rental only. We opted for the free stuff which always had availability, it usually just meant we were in row two of the cabanas instead of beach front. We actually sat in some beach front ones that said reserved sometimes and they didn't seem to mind, most were open anyways. Almost all of the cabanas poolside were marked for reservations only, unfortunately. The cabana rental situation was probably our biggest qualm with the resort.
Hope you enjoy!
Great video!!
What month was this in?!?!
Not crowded at all- really want to know what month it’s not crowded!! 😃
This was just this past May! It was a Friday to Monday and a great time to go!
@Silvia Hoard Yes, they did have a show each evening in the lobby! No disco or nightclub but the sports bar was open very late (at least 2am I believe) and they had some dancing, karaoke, and other events happening there in the evenings.
What did you visit? The weather looked perfect!
Yes, it was really a wonderful time! We visited in early-May. They get lots of sun throughout the day but then it goes behind the resort around 4 pm which provides some nice shade later in the day.
Happy travels!
We’re going in 3 weeks. Do we need to be prepared with lots of tip $$$? In Jamaica we don’t at Sandals so I want to be prepared if we do.
Hi Robin! Happy to provide some additional info:
I wouldn't say we spent a lot on tips and it certainly varies by person. I would guess we tipped around $50 over the course of our three night stay. We felt like we were middle of the road tippers.
We were not fans of the glass bathroom door...lol it was odd! 😂
Agreed, was thinking lighting, but went to rewatch but they have a pot light? Was there a switch to fog the glass somewhere?
Any suggestions for transportation to the hotel from the airport? Great video! Just booked it with points. 🙌🏼
Ah you're going to love it! So exciting! We prefer Happy Shuttles Cancun and they are wonderful!

@@StNickTravelshey guys! Great video, thank you. Heading here in March and want to know if you booked your to and from airport / resort transportation with the resort itself? Thank you!
-John&Nanci
@@HurstW45 Hi John & Nancy, thanks for the support! We always use a separate company instead of direct with the hotel. It's really the same service and they have cheaper prices.
We recommend Happy Shuttles which is our go-to! They are reliable and professional. Feel free to use our link below! (It is an affiliate link but there is no additional cost to you)

Do you have access to ziva too? I was just curious since their side by side
I believe you can access Ziva but in Cancun they are actually 2 miles apart rather than next door!
Thank you for sharing this awesome in depth review on this resort. What month did you visit?
This was in the month of May!
@@StNickTravelsperfect as we will be visiting this month and this gives me a preview of the what the weather looks like👌🏼😃 Can’t wait ❤🙌🏻
Do you have any status or how did you get upgraded?
We have Discoverist status which I don't think holds any real power. I think it was just a nicer room and they were below capacity!
Is this a true all inclusive? Or are there levels like the one in punta cana that has the club level? Thank you.
I do not believe that they had any club level so the entire facility was accessible to everyone. There are still a few additional paid items such as the cabanas, an elevated dining experience, and some water sports.
Was everything included like the spa and yoga?? Or did you pay extra for that?
Thanks
Hello! The yoga was included, along with many other activities, however, the spa was not. All of the spa services came with a fee, I think the hydrotherapy we paid for was around $25 per person. Enjoy!
Thank you so much for replying back
I'm looking for a place for my bachelorette party and so far this place looks the best 😀
@@Amanda-jf3dk Oh that sounds like such fun! I think there may have been one or two while we were there and it seems like a great spot for it!
How was the AC in your room?
No issues at all! Plenty cool enough and seemed to work quickly!
Hey, I'm currently seeing 45k points per night for this resort online, how were you able to get this trip for 75k points all together??
Hi there! Unfortunately, Hyatt raised their award rates on most all-inclusive properties, Zilara included, in March 2023. If you are seeing 45k points you are looking at peak pricing though and if you have date flexibility you can find it as low as 35k points per night.
I am planning on going but I wanted to know if can you use some Hyatt points to cover 2 nights and pay the 3rd night on a credit card is that possible ?
Yes, that shouldn't be an issue. I would say you could either do it as two separate reservations (and then contact the hotel pair them together) or try calling Hyatt to book it all together. Either way, be sure you pay with card for whichever night is least expensive!
@@StNickTravels thank you I just booked it. What do you recommend for airport transportation to the hotel and back to the airport ?
@@miguelvilchis8683 Amazing! For transportation, we use Happy Shuttles Cancun. They are always cheaper than going through the hotel and are friendly, professional and reliable. Here's our link!

Hey guys, my last question lol, planet Hollywood or Hyatt? I’m still debating between. Hyatt Ziva and Zilaria. But what’s your honest opinion? Thanks so much. Anyway I can offer contribution let me know. Or you guys to answer these questions is awesome.
Haha happy to help! We haven't been to Zilara but it's essentially the family version of the Ziva which is adults only. Between Ziva and Planet Hollywood, we would probably say the Ziva. Adults only, some of the best food, nice rooms, and some great activities as well!
Is this a low season for Cancun? it’s quite not crowded at all
We would say it was probably shoulder season! It definitely wasn't empty but not crowded at all. They seemed to be doing a bit of maintenance that would indicate they are getting ready for larger crowds.
@@StNickTravels wonderful. How about the weather there? I just booked my ticket to Cancun.
Oh the weather was absolutely perfect! Nothing but sunshine and not too hot. Warm in the sun and a bit humid but you have the pools and ocean right there to cool you down!
@@StNickTravelsthanks for your response. Enjoy your holiday and have fun! Cheers
@Silvia Hoard None of the pools are heated but as they face East into the sun, they were plenty warm!
Is this a good place for a singles?
We think it might be! There were several bachelor/bachelorette party groups and lots of other party groups. It seemed like folks were open to making friends at bars and common areas.
You need to take up scuba diving enjoy the blue water
Yes! One of us is certified but the other isn't. We've done a lot of snorkeling in Cancun, any particular area you'd recommend for diving?
Hpw was the food?
We think this may have been the best food we have ever had at an all inclusive! Everything was delicious!
Hi.. is this resort family friendly?
Actually the Zilara is adults only! They do have a sister property called the Ziva which is right down the road and a similar resort but for families!
Also did you say you can use cabana for free?
They had some free cabanas and some pay for. The pay ones included a beach/pool butler and usually had an unimpeded view of the ocean, compared to the free ones which were a row or two back. All of the ones by the pool were pay. It seemed as though afternoon they were a bit more free for all too, but not necessarily advertised as such. Hope that helps!
@@StNickTravels Thank you!!!
Did they have vegan options??
They did! All of their menus included indications for vegetarian / vegan
Do you have to pay for a spa service to use the hydrotherapy facilities?
Yes, I believe it was $30 per person for a day pass to the spa, which included the hydrotherapy. Otherwise, access to the spa / hydrotherapy was included with other spa services
Did you leave the resort at all?
We did not leave the resort on this trip but we have in Cancun many times! The Zilara is right in the middle of the hotel zone and it is pretty easy to access nearby restaurants or shopping. We never felt like we needed to leave!
@@StNickTravels I'm sorry, last question lol - Can you walk out from the resort into the shopping and restaurants or is that not advised?
@@rkm1577 Haha all good! Yes, I would definitely say it is safe and okay to walk around from the hotel and I remember seeing many doing so as we drove up. Enjoy!
And now it’s cat E and a scam price to book with points most days :(
Definitely a bummer that their AI points costs went up so much!
Room 113?
Haha we can't be certain but that really sounds correct! We saw your comment about the bathroom door, as well. So odd! Even just a little bit of frosting would have been nice for some semblance of privacy lol
@@StNickTravels has to be..we just left yesterday, were there for a week! Amazing video y'all! Love it!!!
The room looks dated and faded. The toilet lol
The property definitely had some age to it but we still loved it! We still cannot get over that toilet haha
WHAT KIND OF SWIMMING/WATER SPORTS DID THEY OFFER? IE DID THEY HAVE SMALL SAILBOATS TO USE? @StNickTravels
Yes, a variety of non motor sports are included! I believe they have the small sailboats as well with about 90% certainty. Enjoy!
