Starting: Defense vs Port Tack Approach

This clip, shot off the pin end of the starting line, shows a starboard tack boat defending against a boat on a port tack approach. The Starboard Boat turns down, aiming at the Port Tack Approach Boat, forcing the Port Tack Approach Boat to tack early. The Starboard Boat then luffs up to create separation from the Port Tack Approach Boat. The Starboard Tack Boat then turns down and used that space to accelerate to full speed for the start. Well done.
