Wow. Great to hear Jesse Davey. Probably the best blues player I've ever seen live and I've seen a lot.
first time must have been 1999, Raalte (netherlands) at the Ribs&blues festival.
Opening song: High expectations. Jesse dressed in a poncho wearing sunglasses playin a white strat. Playing as if chased bij the devil.
Saw them so many times since then: opening for Johnny Winter in Paradiso Amsterdam, Hoaxfest and many more times in Raalte.
The closest thing to SRV I've ever heard yet still his own sound.
just too bad The Hoax isn't a thing anymore, i'd be the first to buy a ticket for a show

Been following Jesse Davey since the first Hoax release. Still listen to the Hoax. I reckon Jesse is very underrated or perhaps not even in the conversation outside of the UK and Europe. This was a perfect jam, more please! The Hoax blistered through Ontario Canada in '97-'98 if my memory recalls. Missed seeing them in Ottawa as I just couldn’t get there. Their Toronto show was cancelled because the venue was unsure of their drawing power. WTF was that? I wouldn’t have missed that show. Anyway, love Jesse, brilliant musician…..

They are both incredible amps, the Classic is very easy to overdrive and get dirty tones, the Stirling is a monster clean machine, you can overdrive the amp but it excels at clean tones.
