Nyet! Soft, won't foreheck, won't backcheck, showboat, gives the puck away and bails out anytime he's about to get hit. He looks like a mini Pierre Luc Dubois cruising around the ice. Ask L.A. how that is working out...🤔
For the right price yea, as long as we’re trading for him understanding that he’s going to be a second liner, and not giving up to much to get him, but I would take him, young there’s a lot of skill there, yea he’s got issues, but he’s still a talented player and deserves to be in the nhl so yea I’d take him for the right price
You just have to offer him points for playing defense, like they did with PLD, get together with his mom and draw up a board that can motivate him easy peasy! ;) it's already working! He threw a whole hit the other night vs Jersey!
I would like to see Montreal acquire Clayton Keller 25. if possible. GP 53 49 points this season, last season 86 points in 82 games for Arizona, 7.1 million until 28/29. Montreal has a number of young defensemen like Harris, Norlander to put into a trade package.
No because of Caufield and Hutson, having the 3 on the ice at the same time would be dangerous, on both side of the ice though. Only if it is a sale trade like a mid to bottom 1st and a 2nd. But not against this year 1st round.
No question he has scoring talent, but he is a defensive liability. You can make up for that depending on who else is on his line, but I think this is one you let pass.
In a pure strategic move, if I’m going to take an unreliable player defensively, I’m going to want someone that can score more than 65 points a year. That would be a real improvments. Soit a no for me on Zegras.
Yes to him! We have 1 first line and 3 4th lines. People change in a different environment, and Montreal is a world class organisation, he can and will change.
Absolutely take him if the price is right. Fans complained for 15 years that this team had no scoring. This guy will be putting up multiple 30 goal, ppg seasons in his prime.
Putting on my GM & President of Hockey Operations Chapeau I would give the Ducks Anderson and the #1 pick that the Habs received from Winnipeg. Line him up with Dach and Newhook and now you have a great 2nd line of scorers and Rick could go on special assignment and teach the kid some D.
When Vancouver starts to slow down, if that’s in 1.5-2 years, we need to go after Pettersson. I know it would be a hefty price, but we need a superstar on our team. Then, we would be 10x better.
Habs fans cry because the team has no attack and when there might be an offensive player on the market they dont want him... no wonder every other fan base laugh at us... 🤦♂️
Nope, get over it, zegras isn;t being traded for. zegras is soft, doesn;t play D, scared to get hit, he isn;t better than dach or the 1st line, you'll have to give up a 1st plus top forward prospect which the habs don;t even have
Trevor Zegras would be the type of player Marc Bergevin would sign. Kent Hughes won't touch him. Same as Pierre Luc Dubois. No interest. And wisely so!
Mr Green very well said STU like most times you have no clue that said the coaching staff has to go for this team to build a playoff team this style they want will never win long term
To me the way Rick talks about Zegras, it is the same way he talked about Subban. He's not a fan of either which is kind of mind boggling in a way in my opinion. A team needs at least one player or two like those 2 I just mentioned because you need a player who could get it done individually offensively when the system game is not working at times. About the grit thing, Subban never had a grit issue, for Zegras I don't know anything about him in that way but there is a lot ppl who are saying he has no grit. Some ppl are comparing Zegras to Drouin when he use to play for the Canadiens and it's not in a good way. When the Canadiens acquired Drouin they automatically gave him a big contract without even having to earn it because in Tampa he was more of a fallower but a very good fallower and that's what he is in Colorado right now, the Canadiens acquired Drouin to be the leader or one of the leaders and he was neither, if the Canadiens acquires Zegras hopefully a mistake like that doesn't happen again where they just give out a big contract to a player right away before that player really proves themselves on that organization that acquired them.
Rick Green is an insightful guy, but he's boring, and he wants guys like himself...steady and boring defencemen. Zegras might get his act together if he were on the same team as Caufield.
not a chance, he's too soft. Why do the Ducks want to get rid of him? Surely he should be in demand on a team so offensively depleted as the Ducks are.

If you like caufield then you’ll love zegras you’re TRIPPIN
@@earlgilbert4025Compete is not an issue for Caufield. He’ll try in every zone. Zegras doesn’t.
Rick Green is on the money in spite of talent the last thing you need is someone incompetent on the back end and maybe a poison in the locker room.
They should go all in on Pettersson
Nope. Anyone who thinks the Habs need a guy who thinks of himself more than of his team, knows absolutely nothing about the Habs.
yup, this! i second this💯
But if hes cheap, why not. So like a barron and winnipegs pick.
@@muizzzmehrii7714 Doesn't matter how much he costs. It matters what he does to damage the team.
Im glad to see at least MOST Habs fans are still competent.
We need that guy from Arizona, that first round draft pick. Or if not, Zegras straight up for Allen and a 3rd round draft pick. Why not?

Defence can be taught, can’t teach players how to score. Zegras would look great in Montreal
A few negative comments on Zegras from sports experts, I wouldn't touch him anyway I'm sure Hughes is smart enough to choose or not.
In 2024 the NHL average height for Forwards is 6’-1” & 198 pounds. The 16 Montreal roster & prospects forwards listed below, average is only 5’-10” & 180 pounds.
Richard 5-10/163 … Pitlick 5-10/168 … Gignac 5-11/170 … Guindon 5-10/170 … Mesar 5-10/174 … Farrell 5-9/175 … Mysak 5-11/175 … Caulfield 5-8/176 … Wideman 5-10/183 ... Kidney 6-0/183 … RHP 5-9/184 … Gallagher 5-9/186 … Harris 5-11/189 … Roy 6-0/190 … Beck 6-0/191... Newhook 5-11/199.

Important to find a good fit for second line Caufield.
?? Suzuki Slaf
Zegras Dach Caufield
?? Newhook Roy
Evans
Ok how about this, if hes cheap. Like a Barron a a late first. Then why not?

Z E G R A S = D R O U I N ...... with an American accent and longer hair....

Trade for Byfield
If he's so good why do the Ducks want to get ride of him? smells a little like PLD.
When Vancouver starts to slow down, if that’s in 1.5-2 years, we need to go after Pettersson. I know it would be a hefty price, but we need a superstar on our team. Then, we would be 10x better.
I mean we will need a second or third line center 😅
No, he is an entertaining player but not what this team needs.
If you can get him at a decent price. Maybe a change of scenery might be good for him. But really the team doesn’t need him.
"A type of player GM Hughes would love to acquire"
What is your source? This is propaganda!
Yes...go after him.
Players like Lafleur never backchecked much either...they just know how to put the puck in the net and win.
Habs fans cry because the team has no attack and when there might be an offensive player on the market they dont want him... no wonder every other fan base laugh at us... 🤦♂️
Sorry Rick, Cole Caufield cannot do the things that Trevor Zegras can do with a puck.

These amateur takes a fkn painful.

No thanks. Kid is soft, not especially productive and a HUGE career minus.
no he’s not a good fit.. MTL are trying to build a winner, not a regular season team.. PLEASE! stop pushing this bbbbssss
Caufield can pull u out of ur seat, but only does it every 7th game...
Why rush at the moment personly we need a bigger player that could score
High skill level ... zero grit ... not enough drive ... PASS ....
not a chance, he's too soft. Why do the Ducks want to get rid of him? Surely he should be in demand on a team so offensively depleted as the Ducks are.
Kid is a punk. Keep him as far away from the Habs as possible.
OUCH from R Green
NO!!!!! enough already! There are so many better options. Y'all are harping on about this like you did with PLD and look how that turned out!
Tank the Tank
Don't do it.
No. Please no. When the other players vote him as the most overrated player in the league, that's all you need to know.
do it, it bumps Newhook down to the third line; and then pray for rain in the form of Demidov.
No
the wokest hockey panel in the NHL.
Your sound really sucks ...😢😥
No way
Not a fit ,he is going to be a problem as he has been up until now on his te@m.
