I made a lot of different armor patterns to help you all get started with cosplay. Since I made them all based on my own body though, they also only have my size which is EU/GER 38 or US 10. I know not everybody has the same measurements as I have, so here is a video explaining how you can easily change all of my patterns to make them fit to your own body!

A detailed video on attachments would be handy for me - I'm always struggling to determine how to make attach to my body comfortably, and which method (zipper, d-ring, velcro, etc) to use to look and function the best.
+1 for me as well! A video on the advantages and disadvantages of different armour attachment methods would be amazingly useful
+1 to this too
I agree! I would even pay for a video of a detailed explanation for attaching armor in different ways
I literally started to make my cosplay armor based on your patterns 15 minutes ago, this is perfect timing to release your video. Thanks!
So how did it go?
I just want to point out, for those who don’t know, that your off-the-rack clothing size and your sewing (or in this case, cosplay) size are NOT the same. Do not assume that if you usually buy US size 10 clothing, that you are a size 10 in a pattern. I buy size 10 (US) shirts and dresses, but I am usually a size 14 or 16 in sewing patterns. The key is to take your measurements with a measuring tape, and then see how they match up to the individual pattern sizing chart. Don’t assume it will be consistent across the board! This is a good tutorial, and it is exactly how I size up sewing patterns from time to time. May I request a similar tutorial for those who do not have “ideal” proportions? For example, my bust is usually a size or two smaller than my waist, and my waist is a size larger than my hips. This causes me to span three pattern sizes, and I cannot alter patterns by adding or subtracting an even amount to each piece. I know I’m not the only one with a body shaped like this! Although I personally know how to do such alterations, I’m sure there are those who would benefit from such a tutorial. And you do all of your videos so nicely! Love your upbeat attitude and humour!
Absolutely and to add onto this don’t assume your body is one pattern size. When I cut out commercial dress patterns my bust is one size and my hips are a completely different size.
This is a really good point! Even as a man I've noticed how varied clothing sizes are from item to item and shop to shop. But clothing is made so cheaply these days, there's even a difference in sizes on the same item in the same shop! Lol.
So definitely measure yourselves rather than go off clothing size numbers/letters.
That’s the longest paragraph I’ve ever SEEN!
Oh. My. God.
The timing!
I literally JUST bought your pattern bundle yesterday and was thinking Id definitely need to adjust the size!
THOSE BOOKS WOULD BE PERFECT!! I'm self taught, so I've had to learn by trial and error and watching videos on house-building that uses the materials I need 😂😂
It's a shame she hardly ever mentions her books. She should promote them more!
@@SheeplessNW6 I absolutely agree! Maybe Svetlana should think about getting a sign that mentions them or something, too?
Guys these books are Awesome! she has bundles on her page where you can mix and match which ones you want and its brilliant!
I already have one of her books, it's really really helpful and useful, totally recommend getting it.
One way to do it is also to use Armorsmith - it's $30 American and really useful for seeing how your pieces fit on. It works for both 3D printing and Pepakura, and it's really helpful. I'm not advertising on its behalf; I'm just recommending a useful program for getting exact measurements and editing the patterns and models.
This is a good tutorial, by the way. Nice job as per always. :)
Good to know how simple this can be. I had a mandalorian inspired armor set I wanted to build, essentially just the torso armor with the lower half being a long tattered war-skirt thing, and it's good to know it wouldn't be that hard to scale up existing patterns for my broad-shouldered and beer-gutted self.
Thank you for this! I'm fluffier and new to armor crafting so it's a huge help!
Thank you SO MUCH for doing this!!! I often struggle with sizing things up so this is SUCH a big help!
Your enthusiasm brings me more joy than a new born puppy.
Talk about perfectly timed!!! I'm starting my first armor build in the next week or two and tho it's not full suit, I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to upsize some parts! This kind of content is well needed in the community and this was very straight to the point. Thanks Svetlana and Benni!
Kamui Cosplay : it's the dream of every girl, or boy or
Me : enby ?
Kamui cosplay : corgi
I mean, fine by me
@KAMUICOSPLAY PS: I recieved all your cosplay books and they are AMAZING! I've read about half of them, and I've been cosplaying for years and well... I guess you can teach an old corgi new tricks!
WORTH EVERY CENT!
Thanks so much!!!
This is so useful! I've been sizing up patterns for years but it never came out right. This helps!
Informative and entertaining, as always, Miss Svetlana. I have always had trouble sizing patterns up and down. Your way is much easier than the nonsense I was doing before. Thank you very much! You rock!
Great video!!! Would love to see a video on EVA and worbla closures and how to attach the armor pieces to ur body without them getting messed up or fall off!
i just randomly came across your video and before today never even heard of you but after watching this video i honestly cant get enough of you..your energy and vibe is just so awesome
this is perfect thank you so much. I’ve been wondering how to size up patterns and the sort, and this is perfect for what I need
Thank you for your tutorials! You are an inspiration for a lot of cosplayers ❤️
I needed this so much. I just started on my leg armor from your patterns and my calves are a bit wider. This was awesome!
Hi! I love your personality and energy. It makes me smile, thank you!
This is super helpful especially since I have to scale down almost every pattern I will ever use. I am a US 0-2 so most everything I have made so far I have patterned myself through trial and error. This will help so much. Thank you!!!
I can’t figure out how you would scale this down from the video- would you just do the same thing but cutting the side seams?
Yeah I'm not sure how I would scale down either. It seems like it would be endless trial-and-error even with this guidance.
When I bought the patterns two years ago I didn't really know how to scale them so I just loaded them into photoshop, scaled them up by 20% and printed to test them. I'm wider and taller so the result wasn't that bad, but I'll try this method next time.
Thank you Svetlana for your blessed patterns 🙏🙏🙏
CORGI i love your work, just started to play with foam and will use your guidance to create my piece to be a waarlock and my wife a witch.
Your dog is so cute! My roommate and I bought a bunch of your patterns a while back and are looking to make a lot of stuff during quarantine. Thanks for being so helpful!
Thank you for always putting out such fun and educational videos! My hardest task right now is trying to figure out how to make articulated wings that not only fold out but curve in at a joint as well for Gwendolyn from Odin Sphere!
Thank you !! Can not wait to see you in Raleigh NC at Raleigh Super Con !!!
I've just bought your patterns bundle and it's so usefull. And justly, I will need to rescale the patterns because I don't have your size. So thanks a lot for your great job and keep going. :D :D :D :D :D
Love the corgis! Also your energy in the videos never fails to impress, much love to the Kamui team!
This is my first time truly making my own cosplay and first time ever making armor with eva foam and I tried so hard to make my own pattern but it never really worked out but I just bought your pattern and i need to size it up a bit but you just made my costume really come together and I can't thank you enough for helping out with it all. ( I'm gonna be noelle from genshin impact:D )
Your videos are great! I really enjoy the tutorials and the creative ideas. Thank you for the awesome content.
This is so helpful, thank you!!! Making a pattern from my body has always given me trouble because I'm squishy, this will work better I think! :)
I used your pattern to make Mercy breastplate and it was suuper helpfull! I've tried like 3 times myself wirh different materials and result was "meh", but with your pattern I get needed shape without so much struggle, and it was my first time working with EVA-foam! Only wish I used _sharp_ knive and get clean seems... But that was clearly my bad and I learned my lesson)
Thank you so much for making more patterns, still looking for cosplay idea to use them and buy ALL OF THEM!
I just got the male armor pattern collection and this is exactly what I needed
Glad to hear it!
I love you so much! Your creativity and pure joy is such a delight to experience, thank you!!!
Just what I needed
Your video seriously made me smile ..... I was having a bad day .....❤❤❤❤
That was very well done. Having it shown to us like that was very helpful. Also, corgi.
CORGI!!!
LOVE YOUR PATTERNS!! YOU DO AN AMAZING JOB!!!💜💜💜💜
I loved that video! The last time I tried this technique, it turned out to be smooth 😂😂😂
You are amazing! The best cosmaker of the whole internet. I love your videos !!! Like forever!
And don't forget *BUY HER BOOKS!* :D
I'm scared...I have bought your basic male armor pattern and I was asking if it would be large enough for me. Then you make this video the same day I print the pattern. (I am glad you made it, That's exactly what I needed)
Thanks for the Svetlana and Corgi fixes.
I love that you did this!
Awesome video. Super simple and helpful :) !! Thank you!
I realized I cut the marks when I shouldn't have. Omg. This would have made a world of difference. I think a video on the order of gluing your patterns. But I'm so thankful for your videos, your book pattern and mirroring I messed up a lot. Finally dremeling after kwik seal or before. I dremeled after plasti dip and used wrong grit wasn't using dremel correctly. All newbie mistakes!
just found your channel, love it! really really love it.
So much energy and passion...I love it. You make your videos so enjoyable to watch. Thank you. #BHB
I love your energy and videos. I have learned alot, Veilen danke.
Your energy is amazing!
Corgi! But also I recently did a vambrace pattern and instead of using wrapping plastic and then masking tape, I just used masking tape, which in retrospect was a dumb idea as it took a few hairs off my arm D:
For me the most difficult pieces are The Legs, and the shoulder armor^^ Btw good video! thank you for your tips!!!
Another great video, that size would fit me perfectly
Super cool! Love this channel!
Yeah! Sehr cool, danke dir. Mal wieder ein extrem hilfreiches Video!
Awesome! this was really helpful

Okay sorry for the cap but seriously, thank you so much ❤️
That seems to happen a lot! Kamui's a god-send for cosplayers who are just about to tackle something specific and might need some advice about it.
Great tutorial. This is so good to know. Also Corgi!
Another excellent video, Corgi!
Bless!!!!!! I needed this!!!!!
CORGI
I recently printed out this same piece and was wondering how to scale up. Scaling foam is way different from fabric. Thanks for this video!
The video was very helpful! Thx!!! ♥️
This is super helpful!!!! Thank you so much!!!
Hi, well in my opinion your probably the best creators on CZcams :) although I do wish someone (by that I mean you) lol :) would make something like the knights templar armour for men. I would buy the patterns, just saying. Keep up the great work guys you are genuinely amazing thank you :)
What a girl so full of sympathy. I like to see her for how nice she is.
Thanks Svetlana!
This was very helpfull :D
Always been struggling with making pattern on my own body because they look warped if i use the wrap technique on my fatty rolls XD
I'll try this!
CORGI
I would love a tutorial on your male armor designs. Maybe do a video on Benny getting armored up. I plan on using your basic armor templates for a base. I am building an armored superman cosplay for my brother.
There is actually an instruction video if you go the the product page on my website. :)
I love watching you guys favorite part is BUY MY BOOKS can't wait to see the final birgette armour
Yay! Svetlana!
Your dog is soo cuteee xD and it's a very good video :3
Oh, Bymybooks is back!
Jetzt kann ich es für meine MHW Rüstung mal ausprobieren war mir unsicher ob das funktioniertund wollte kein foam verschwenden, danke für das Video *-*
I basically just watch your videos for your amazing amount of non-stop energy and cause you’re beautiful 😍!! Other than that.... ummm... what were we talking about ? Hahaha Hi Benny !!
I really need to get your books sometime. I really want to try using worbla as foam for me still makes me a bit on edge. I want my armour to be hard! Hahah
Bruuuuh this was posted the moment i finished my cosplay after 4 months of work ;-;
Wao , me encanta el contenido de tu canal ^-^
So... I'm running a DnD campagne and we had an idea to dress as our characters for halloween. As a DM I thought to dress as Reven Queen (Critical Role)... Long story short I need to make a full costume in less than 2 weeks.
It is my first costume btw xD
Girl you are perfect 😤😤
Hey Kamui, thanks for the great videos.
What would you recommend for making a piece smaller... having already made it?
I made a Sylvanas shoulder pad (using some of your guides and techniques) but I've made it too big... eeep :|
❤️Sigh!
I have a question: Do you know any german alternatives for kwik seal since i was at a local hardware store and they dont run it.
Hi.. Thank you so much. Your channel really help me a lot. I'm using your idea to make a Batman Beyond costume for my Son competition. And he get Campion winner..
Great job
I just wonder how people stay cool/warm in cosplays and how not to smell bad or dont have wet rounds under armpit during summer conventions :3 And how to properly wash costumes. Corgi ♥
...aaand corgi. I used have one. He was the heckin goodest of bois. Born on St. Patrick's Day he was.
Thank you for this one 👌🏼 I am a big curvy girl and I'm gonna try thos
new drinkinggame - every time Svetlana says pattern you take a shot
Can these patterns be used on cardboard? I know it won't look as good as EVA foam but I'm trying to work with what I have (and I'm on a very tight budget). I want to make the corset armour but I'm not sure if the bust cups would work with a more rigid material
Your Videos are great, just a litte question: Do you know how to make a good mask size mesurement for my face?
Hi Svetlana and Benni, just gotten through all of your videos. Loved all of them ❤️ just out of curiosity, do you guys have a PO box or separate address that we can send things to?
Hello, I want to ask you, what the best type of foam, is best for a sword blade. I would also like to use sword to fight. So the sword would be exposed to hard work and hard or ''ragged'' manipulation.
So I am looking for a foam that a lot lasts, and durable. Thank you.
Have a nice day :)
That old pvc foil you used for shadowmourne, do you have a link where we can get it?
