Pranav obviously has Indian roots as well, so Penny's comment isn't so much about Americans as it is about Indian immigrant's to America; not all of whom can claim deep roots in Indian philosophy either; after all most immigrants are necessarily cross-cultural entities up against the challenge of limited time to do justice to either, or any, culture or philosophical persuasion.
