  • This is the tear down of our 1940 Ford truck. Going to do some upgrades and modifications to the frame to make it a driver. Should be fun.

I have noticed that costs are rising, especially for new parts. I am building a 1941 pickup. I am slighly ahead of you.

@@mcomp1732 I hear ya, prices are crazy. C4 trans and 9" rear end is 7K new, junkyards out here are no help. On the fence to just rebuild the manual trans that came with this truck, but something doesn't look right as far as what the 1940 should be and what I have. Emailed photos a few weeks ago to Vanpelt for help but no response.

what a shame, butchering such a good complete example of a fine 40 Ford truck. So sad

Yes, but you have to take into consideration that it's 82 years old. The suspension is tired and worn out, upgrading that is 1st chioce. Seen a very nice restored 32 here that was wreaked because something on the frontend broke and the car went into oncoming traffic. The couple went through the windshield and lost their lives still in there seats. Were just giving this truck a new life and keeping the original look like it always had. It's way better then turning it into scrap.

@@mikefo2689 HAHAHA I knew that right out of the gate, this is far from a good complete truck. It's was actually butched when I got it.
It's all good and fun, Thanks Mike
