It is seshadri swamigal you are referring to who brought Bhagavan ramana from the patala linga area in the thiruvanamalai temple.
Many a times Bhagavan Ramana has told his guru is anamalai himself. And many believe he is an avatar of skanda/karthikeya son of shiva. That may be the reason he said he is going in search of his father.
Correct Sheshdri swamigal is the first person who showed Ramana Maharishi to the world from the meditation
Ramanar was called as Moolvar Sivan
Seshdri Swamigal was called as Utchavar Sivan
Ramana also stated that he had never seen Siva or any other, that the only thing he saw every moment was the Self
