- This week we're laying it back with a relaxing track! I take samples of every microphone I sell, and some weeks build tracks using them. In this week's video we're using an RCA PB-90 Ribbon Microphone from the 1930's, a pair of Electro Voice Dynamic Microphones from the 1970's, and an Electro Voice RE-20 Dynamic Microphone from the 1980's.
You can check out the individual sound samples here:

These recordings sound incredible
Hell yeah. RE-11's are in the Top 10 best dynamic mics ever made, in my opinion. Perfect rolloff for vocals and guitars. Great midrange. The Variable-D makes them really useful for getting close up and still sounding good.
Nice! I've been wondering what an old microphone would sound like :o Was it hard to set up?
Very nice. Just curious, what strings are you using on your Fender bass?
These strings are so old and were on the bass when I got it! I really need to change them haha. So I’m not sure!
What Ac guitar is this? 😌
The first with the PB90 is a 1957 Gibson LG-3, and the second with the RE-11 is a new Gibson L-00!
