- Andreas Larsson is one the most notable and well-known home restorers in Los Angeles, aiming to preserve and save Architecturally significant homes through his company HabHouse. From an unrecognizable Calvin Straub home to the personal residence of Jean Killion alongside others to now The Hart Residence, Andreas is single-handedly saving iconic Architectural homes in LA. Turning years of neglect into something that is dream worthy of living in can be daunting and lengthy; however, Andreas and his team have cultivated an approach worth listening to. The balance of restoration and updating, choosing a color palette, to the materials and finishes used comes down to a lot of research and years of work. The Hart Residence has an exciting history and went into disrepair over the years. Without someone like Andreas stepping in, who knows what the future may have been tearing down "old" homes has become all too familiar in Brentwood. Crestwood Hills is one of the best Architectural significant neighborhoods in all of Los Angeles. It's a neighborhood that holds a lot of pride within the current owners, which can be felt by just driving around; you are surrounded by greenery and hillsides and feel so distant from the hustle and bustle of LA but yet a stone's throw away from Sunset Blvd. You only get a few chances to be a part of such a thriving community. The Hart Residence may be that opportunity for you.

A Starter model home! Oh how the times have changed
This cat is the real deal. Very few of these Mid Century renovators speak of the process in the language of a true artist and the fact that the finished piece offers the subconscious the illusion of an inanimate objects ability to contain a soul.
Excellent piece.

Love the rawness of the materials, I like the approach of striping back the layers added overtime to reveal the original beauty. The fire place has a really nice patina/finish.
Andreas did incredible work with the restoration and the video was brilliant as usual. I would have loved to see the original Crestwood Hills homes in the 50's.
Can't get enough of these - the simple and pure way of shooting and editing suits these buildings perfectly. I live in a small beach house in New Zealand, built in the early 1950s - I find it very interesting to imagine these buildings coming to life at the same time a world away. Trying to find the similarities and the differences. Of course mine is a lot more modest and less "designed", but there are some interesting overlaps.
I'd love to see a piece that shows the relationships between the remaining homes in Crestwood Hills. It'd be interesting to see how much of the original intent has remained.

Safe to say, classic Porsches are the must-have hipster accessory of the moment. In less than a month I've seen at least three similar vids of mid-century homes in LA, all with Porsches of a certain vintage on the driveway.
Or a vintage, restored 50s VW Beetle.

There's always got to be a vintage Porsche 911
I wanted to see more, particularly what was done to the kitchen. I think Larsson has the sensibilities to take on these homes, but I am not in favour of the modern interpretation of some of the spaces.
