  • In this video i demonstrate how to build a recumbent bicycle from square steel tubing and second-hand kidsbikes. The bicycle is a long-wheel-base design loosely based on the XR2 Groundhugger. The bike frame is made from square steel tubing. The rear fork, handlebars, stem, bracket tube, headset, wheels, casette, v-brakes and brake levers are all taken from cheap second-hand kidsbikes. I copied the steering mechanism from David Wolfe's design. I designed and build a custom seat out of birch plywood for the bicycle. The chain guide pulleys are made from old inline-skate wheels.
