Why most reviews and "vs" videos miss an important part such as telemetry? I found only one other channel briefly mentioning that SFHSS does not have telemetry but will be super important to know if the OMP protocol provides any telemetry and how (if possible) add telemetry to a helicopter that came with just SFHSS protocol like the Goosky S1.
Gee, I love your videos - So if using the OMP protocol (M2 1-year-old never flown) do you just leave the pitch and throttle curves blank in a TX16s?. Any chance you've done a TX16s setup video to use the Omp protocol? Cheers
I have just (finally!) recevied my M1 S-FHSS version from Banggood and am trying to bind a Spektrum DSMX Rx to it with no joy! I have pre-bound the sat. Rx to the Tx then plugged it in to the control board but there isn't even a light on the sat. appearing when going through the bind procedure for the heli! Have you done a video purely on the M1 with an OEM Spektrum sat. Rx and if not could you? Addendum: I did a quick one on how to achieve this but OMP Hobby have done their own which shows you with a helicopter!😉

I wish I had known that you guys ended up carrying the fhss version for US market earlier. You guys said not at release and I really wanted it so ordered from BG three weeks ago :/
@@BuddyRC Never understood omp's thinking on the fhss version not being for all markets, especially considering that version is better suited for experienced pilots. Maybe next time, I rather order from you instead. Is there fhss version in stock?

I have a few videos for setting up the tx16s. The videos for the m2 work directly with the m1. As well as a recent video with Jonas on his specific setup for more advanced flying. If you need links I can snag them but should just be able to scroll through my videos and find them
I have the OMP M1 and am using the OMP Protocol in my RadioMaster T16S; I also have throttle and pitch curves in my T16S. If I disable the throttle curves, the motor will run in FM0 only, it will not run in FM1 & FM2 w/o the throttle curves. The pitch curves also seem to be effective also; I had the wrong curves installed once and the M1 pitch did not function correctly; with the right curves, it did. There is something going on here that you or I have missed!

With Radiomaster the OMP protocol has been released allowing to obtain telemetry if I understood correctly. The M1 in FSHH version do we also have the OMP protocol in order to choose between omp and FSHH at our choice? The M1 in OMP version is that we can edit the curves on the radiomaster as for the FSHH version? I plan to take the Radiomaster TX16S it is better to prefer which version of M1? Thank you
Hello sir, ive been gifted by a neighbour with an M1 without a transmitter (they found it in their garden and no-one came forward for it). Im looking to buy a transmitter but I'm not sure which protocol mine is. Is there any way to tell? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! SFHSS is a type of receiver, it will allow you to get the full potential out of the helicopter and be able to edit more of the programing of the Heli.

@@BuddyRC what you mean yes both and is the OMP Hobby M1 the same size as a blade 180 cfx and will a 450 battery work in fit in the spot where the battery goes
Hey there! Very useful info. I was looking to learn a bit more on these two protocols specifically for the OMP M2 V2. Does the SFHSS protocol allow telemetry? My main interest is Heli battery voltage and RSSI. OMP has this telemetry out of the box but does not have throttle curves as you mentioned. Thanks for sharing.

@@43SunSon if I remember correctly, I had a spare battery/esc laying around with a spektrun reciever. Then I plugged in my dsmx satellite and bound it to my transmitter, then hooked the sat up to the M1.

Very good explanation. Based on that I would buy the FHSS. I have a nice little transmitter for that protocol as well as a backup.

Thanks for watching! Normally on a small heli I don't personally use telemetry, on bigger helis I would but smaller helis I just use a timer.

Are there any receiver led settings that can override/still have effect with a satellite?
Omp protocol biggest feature is pack voltage telemetry on the m2. Is the m1 different?
M1 omp protocol still had the battery telemetry. Unsure if the sfhss does. I need to check

Just by following this video there's 2 different boards on the M1. It's either SFHSS or OMP protocol. However both versions have DSM and SBUS ports.

I have omp and radio master. You have 3 throttle speeds so can't change them but you can set your own pitch curves.

Yeah doesn't matter which version you get both work with dsm Sat. The m2 setup I did for spektrum will work as well
