Smokin! The Mask wasn't just a movie with Jim Carrey, it was also a 16-bit superhero games for the SNES!

I used to watch your show before CZcams or digital TV existed. Still doing great!
Vic, I love these retro reviews. Really like the titles with fluid animations like this. Makes me a bit sad that I missed a lot of these though. Might have to do something about that.
Shame this game doesn't let you shout "That's a spicy meat-a-ball!!".
Never tired this one back in the day. Does look like a good movie to video game.
I’m new around these parts but Vic seems just so genuine and kind, it’s very appealing.
Fenton Read-Smith I’m new, too, and this guy seems genuine and natural.
Wish I had played this back in 1994.
Great Review Vic! Looking forward to more of these! It's interesting to hear your thoughts on these 16-bit superhero licensed games, especially with fresh eyes. I also like how you cover the less popular titles as well, like "Spider-man & The X-Men" , the less popular ones seem to make for the more interesting reviews. I think the only ones you haven't covered at this point are stragglers like "Chakan: The Forever Man", "The Shadow" or stuff like "Sonic Blast Man". Would Novatrade's "Cyborg Justice" count as a 16-bit superhero game? Looking forward to more of these!!
Great review once again, thank you Victor.
This looks pretty cool. Used to love the movie as a kid. Makes me want to go back and watch it again.
Never played this one, will have to try it out!
This man had two TV shows at the same time.
Great video vic. Maybe you should do some classic baried treasure movie reviews. The Mask, Ace Ventura pet detective, dumb & dumber, armageddon and etc.
Hey Victor, I just had thought with the good old days of the 16 bit era. What was the development cycle like for Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis games, compared to the games of today. It takes years to make games of today, like Witcher 3, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed. How lomg did it take to make games in the 16 bit era? Was it longer or shorter compared to today? I grew up in that era, but it never crossed my mind how long it actually took to make them. That would make an interesting video.
Love the film. Never played the game. 😎 Review
Seems like a decently good game. I dig it.
Fun fact about the movie...Jim Carrey was not the first choice for the role. Steve Martin,Nicholas Cage, and Matthew Broderick were the three choices for the role of Stanley Ipkiss aka the Mask. That actually would've been awesome considering Steve Martins silly humor and Nicholas Cages craziness. It's a little hard to imagine Matthew Broderick in this role...considering his role as Inspector Gadget he would've been interesting as the mask.
I always wanted to play this when it came out but couldn't find it anywhere at the time.
They call me cuban pete, I'm the king of the rumba beat.
Try to play aliens vs predator for the snes sometime. It had a cool soundtrack but was hard as hell.
Victor, have you done a review of Streets of Rage 1-3 yet in preparation for the release of 4?
EP and vic 4 life
Good times
Hey Vic, I would love if you gave Alien Soldier some play. It's one of the greats. Gust a sujjestion. 🤪
At the end of the movie when Stanley rips Dorian a new asshole and then creates a toilet lever that says flush and he gets sucked down the drain...it would've been pretty awesome if at the ending of the game u were able to do that. Instead when your fighting Dorian as the final boss in the game u as Stanley have to slide into him and use your blown horn gadget and boxing gloves on him repeatedly until he no longer has the mask on and dissapears...that means you defeated him and won the game.
Also there was java game based on son of the mask
Mask was more of a super villain in the comic.
Sorry you had to play this game. I remember wanting to smash it when I played as a kid.
This was a banging movie, and an okay game. I liked, "Son of the Mask," more with Jamie Kennedy. That was some good stuff. All the hate it gets...Those people are just wrong.
I would've enjoyed Son of the Mask if Jim Carrey came back. Because of Jim Carrey not being back in the role for Son of the Mask...I didn't even bother to see it and I only saw the trailer of it once. I also think Jamie Kennedy was an awful choice for the film as a replacement for Jim Carrey... and I would much rather stick with him as the well known Randy character from the Scream movies.
@@bryanrizzo9377 Jamie Kennedy did good, but I will say it was hard for me to believe he was someone's dad initially. I FOUND THE MOVIE ENJOYABLE. Jim would have been preferred...which I think I remember reading the movie was written as a continuation story for the characters from the original.
If you ever get the chance, check out all 3 seasons of, "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment." All 3 seasons were pretty entertaining. Jamie has his place in entertainment.
@@jesseforce9933here's a fun fact about the original film...Jim Carrey wasn't the first choice for the role. Steve Martin,Nicholas Cage, and Matthew Broderick were the three choices for Stanley Ipkiss.
@@bryanrizzo9377 I could totally see them being better than Jim. Glad he was in it, but maybe the others would have given us the planned Mask 2 sequel that never came to life.
Jim Carrey normally doesn't like to do sequels from what I understand. At least he came back to do Ace Ventura When Nature Calls and Dumb and Dumber To. I just pretend that Dumb and dumberer when Harry met Loyd never existed...a few famous actors were in it but the movie was trash without the same actors. I hope he comes back as Dr Robotnik for Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Also this game doesn't suck as many property titles did back in the day.
