    I think you’ve done a great job. I think if a person has more questions you’ve generously addressed them even when some were snarky. Finally, there is also a manual to consult as well. Thanks for your hard work

    Excellent video! Very clear and informative. The number of options is astounding especially considering my first vehicle had three on the tree.

    That must have been some brainstorming session that came up with the idea of an "Open Air Cafe" sound effect to listen to in your car 🤣

    Dude!!! I just rented one of these and had absolutely no idea how to use the infotainment center. It's not as intuitive as a Tesla, Polestar 2 or Volvo C40. THANK YOU!!? 🎉🍾💯💥⭐

    Thanks for that. Getting my I5 tomorrow, so super useful. One question….if you regularly go to a certain destination, can you predefine a preferred route, or can you only chose from the route options it gives you at the time?

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  Před 2 lety

      The answer is sort of - you can set way points or places to avoid. If you do that then the route will stay the same however it will probably make it more complicated.

    Thanks for the explanation. By the way, i really need ur help on how to change the apple carplay side menu from left-side to right-side. I’m a right-side steering car country, but my apple carplay display is for left-side. Can you help me through this issue?

    Thanks for the video. I wish you wouldn't say that it's simple so often, it's clearly more complicated than cars were 20 years ago :).
    I'd like to understand how I can use the programmable button to direct air to all the windows, put the rear heater on and heat the seat and steering wheel at the press of a button. This would really help in the British weather. Is this possible ?

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  Před 2 lety

      Unfortunately no it is not. You do have the smart ventilation option that you could set but it’s not able to be used to create automation of functions like on a computer.

    I have spent days trying to get the infotainment manual for my new Ioniq 5 Namsan (2024) but it is a nightmare! only the USA version found so far. That has some strange stuff in it that probably doesn't apply in Britain. Can you or anybody give my a link to the right item please.
    It looks like Hyundai is prioritising online PDFs to speed up making changes available so where do they put them?

    Hi there,
    What happens if you press “NAV” or the other physical buttons when Carplay/Android Auto is connected? Do they interact with it properly or does it take you out of smartphone mirroring and back to Hyundai shstem?
    In my Mazda3 music, nav abd back buttons work with Carplay, hoping this would be the same with the IONIQ 5.

  • @JoeKoppenhaver

    I was kinda hopeful for this one but having dealt with my wife's Palisade and the dumb things they do with software I was worried and it looks like my fears are realized. The amount of times you had to reclick or went to reclick something because you thought it didn't work would drive me insane. The interface just seems very clunky and not very responsive.

    Apple car play is wired only. Will there be a software update to allow wireless? What other things are likely with over the air updates??

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  Před 2 lety +2

      I don’t have an IONIQ5 to check this but there was recently an update which brought widescreen Android Auto to the car.

      @@TechInTheCar I viewed your video and it was not mentioned. My Ionic Sel has a small yellow light on the dashboard that turns off when driving but then turns on after being parked for a few minutes. I looked over the manual but haven't found it yet.

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  Před 2 lety

      I am not clear about the exact location. If it is on the drivers dials then it is a light when the car starts tha shows if has checked that function and when it goes off it means it is fine. If it is on the actual infotainment system then without a photo I can't think off the top of my head of anything.

    • @CalumMcFarlane
      @CalumMcFarlane Před rokem +3

      This is one of the niggles with the Ioniq 5 IMO, as the speed can get lost behind the steering wheel. It's a shame as even in the OG Ioniq you can have a big speed readout in the middle of the instrument cluster. I'd like to think they might address this in a future firmware update but after two years on the market it seems unlikely.
