Carlo Ancelotti, who this past weekend became the first manager to ever win a title in each of Europe's top five leagues, is now the first tactician to reach the Champions League final five times.
Yep, saw this stat. Thanks for posting.
5th 😂 now
Man Utd fan here, I think he's up there with Sir Alex, his longevity and calmness in absolutely mad moments distinguishes him.
Liverpool fan and I couldn't agree more
Faaaar above Sir Alex. Ferguson has won nothing in Italy or Spain. Nor did he win the CL very often for Man Utd either. 2 times was it? In 20 years.
@@winterbird4447 hes not above ferguson mate. He is however clear of a certain bald fraud
@@winterbird4447 rubbish, at this moment the most it's been won is 3 times by manager so it's not as if fergie is miles behind. Ferguson is joint at moment for most European trophys over all European competitions, he's even won Cup winners Cup with Aberdeen beating Real Madrid in final something ancelotti wouldn't even dream of. Fergie more trophy then any ever manager, at end of day both brilliant managers but one is not miles better then the other there's very little in it
@@winterbird4447 I don't necessarily think so, but with these things it's like making a comparison between Pele and Maradona, who truly was the greatest of all time? Very difficult to tell. While Ancelotti has won in every country he's been in, Sir Alex had to rebuild teams several times over. Difficult comparison on the whole.
I personally just want to admire their brilliance and appreciate the brilliant football we get to see.
Certainly up there. Won champions league with different clubs. Still at the top of his game, and most importantly, he doesn't overthink things like a certain fella
People seem to have forgotten what he was doing with everton a year ago also... FFS he took that crap squad to top of the league at one point. He's so underrated and underappreciated
Elite manager that oozes class is Don Carlo. His twin went into Everton and it never worked. A superb man manager that always seems so chilled out too. Spectacular CV. Top 5 easy.
Ancelotti had a glittering playing career as well, winning back multiple European Cups and Serie A titles with Milan, plus another Serie A title with Roma.
Enjoying a hugely successful and trophy laden playing career, followed by a hugely successful, trophy laden and historic managerial career, must feel very special.
If there are any small weaknesses on his managerial CV, it would be the fact that he ‘only’ won 1 Serie A title across 10 complete seasons with Juve and Milan.
Up there with sir Alex as one of the greatest! Better than pep I'd say because he's bested him twice as a real Madrid coach.
Ancelotti is the Best he won everywhere, different cultures, different languages and different envirements but he won domestic leagues, national cups, international trophies. He managed very well important players, but also young talented players.
Italians are true winners unlike Catalonians
Top 3 easily. No debate. Winning Multiple CLs and leagues, managing World class players and with barely any controversy.
Up there
He's not even top five
@@sergelondon916 he is
For me he’s top 3 coaches of all time. He’s been everywhere and won every league he’s played in. Won 2 cls as a player first manager to win 5 league titles in 5 different leagues and potentially the first manager to win the cl with 3 different clubs. Give Carlo his respect man
Two bro
Champions league only two teams
@@Chidi_jc potentially** I said.
@@gregordrizzlewing7339 he’s won at Real & AC Milan… so ye still 2 different clubs… but agreed unreal manager
@@sonicboom2321 “and potentially the first manager” are you blind ffs
Man United fan here…I always said the minute Fergie announced his retirement we should have got Ancelotti as replacement. World class and only finally getting his plaudits
Well have any other manager won the league in all 5? Multiple UCLs. Top 3 easily. Don Carlo.
On a side note, that cigar smoking photo with parental advisory at the bottom is just pure swag.
Carlo is an Everton legend he left them and joined Real Madrid to stop Liverpool from winning the UCL
No, agent Rafa is LFC's legend.
Everton Legend?
That pain of never winning the CL is real 🤣🤣🤣
If you need to win the European cup to be classed as the best then Brian Clough needs to be in every conversation.
He is. And his N.Forest are one of the best teams ever.
I'm a Milan fan, and of course he is. It seems like people act like football started around 2005, they forget history so fast.
Didn't he also punch Roy Keane for playing badly?
@@Treeesmith he did indeed lol
Carlo is all time GREATNESS. There is NO debate 🙌🏻
Super chilled Carlo & a great manager
5:56: Just to keep the record straight - it was a year 1 round of 16 loss to Monaco, who went onto play Juve that year in the semis. City were eliminated in the R16. That's kind of why City breaking their quarterfinal voodoo under Pep against Dortmund last year was such a big deal. So, in all actuality under Pep's 5 and something years, City has reached 2 semis, out of which they only reached the final once. Under normal circumstances, that's not terrible. However, given the investment, I can see why the criticism is warranted. On the other hand, Real Madrid have reached 10 of the last 12 semi-finals - an impressive statistic on its own.
He is top 3. Fergie, Cruyff and Ancelotti.
Paisley is superior to Fergie. Won 3 CL's in 9yrs.
Caller at the end was right, what City are lacking is a certain type of character that gets you over the line, especially in highly-pressurised cup competitions. I think some of that is down to the nature of the way the club is run, and where their success has come from.
They needed Kompany.
You're right about city lacking character. But the last caller wasn't talking about character he was spouting some codshit about "City want to win by big margins bruv". The kid was a gobshite
Now 5 top leagues- champion, 4 UCLs. GOAT.
last caller nailed it
But Liverpool play a high intensity game aswell, and they play in loads of different competitions as well
The delusion of that last caller was staggering. No wonder Jim cut him short. What a plonker. Also Carlo is up there without a doubt. You ask Chelsea fans the one manager they regret who got the chop and they will all answer Ancelotti. He is a beast. And what amazing eyebrows.
what was wrong with what he said? he was right. City are bottle jobs when faced with adversity
agree, he's been so under appreciated in the last years
Sometimes subs force your hand. Walker got injured. De Bruyne was not 100% fit. Grealish created havoc but you can argue Sterling should have come in instead due to his experience having been in CL semi before. Getting in Gundogan for example seemed reasonable to me.
Yep, better then alex ferguson, and he was also one of the rare ones who was actually a top player.
Ancelotti is up there with lippi in italy, and any italian manager, and lippi really knew his stuff.
He also proved he could manage the best players, which very few really can do
Carlo doesn't get enough credit
Best ever - no question.
Man City, like most teams, are much better as front runners. The last caller was right, in that, if they are not up 4-0, 3-0 scoring perfect team goals, there's a sense of disappointment. That is, without doubt, a testament to their elite overall quality. However, the required style of total control and domination of possession gets body-checked when going against the best of the best. You have to be able to switch gears and defend.
After Benzema's PK, Real Madrid took off their top 2 front players and buckled down on defense. And everyone knew, without a doubt, that Real Madrid would finish the job. You simply have to be able to do that.
To be fair, Man City did it against Atletico, although Atletico did not finish multiple chances to equalize the tie. Man City's best CL performance this year was the 0-0 away fixture at Atletico. They have to channel that game mentally and tactically moving forward in the CL.
Capello has to be right there in the conversation.
Comparing him to Fergie (and I'd probably say Fergie is the greatest of all time), I think there's an argument to suggest doing it at so many different clubs in different cultures is more impressive. Fergie was afforded a stability that few managers get where, when it came to rebuild, he was given what he needed and could plan ahead knowing he'd likely still be in the job a year or two on. He also lucked out with the class of '92, which largely provided the spine of his teams for over a decade.
That’s not luck! They found those players coz he put a great scouting system in place
@@dondamon4669 He lucked out (emphasis on he) - it wasn't his work that scouted all those kids...
Yeah cheers Marcus..
I maybe the only person who doesn't rate Fergie so high. Yes he was a great manager but God know + all real football fans knows how much help that man got from the PL referees & FA throughout
I give him credit for rebuilding teams but 26years & only 2CL ,also 4finals that's not elite......26 years damn.... for me in this Era after the 1990
It's 1)PEP - that man change the way football ⚽️ is played & everyone follow that model to this day
2)Ancelotti- yes he manage big players but every manager can't get the best out of big players & that is highly proven. The man has the right name to justify his greatness "Don Carlo"
3)Klopp - just look at where he started to manage & how every player he manage massive improve, from taking a 3mil pound Lewandowski to the best striker the world has ever seen & could rival all other manager past or present, the "Normal One" is just to damn good.
4)Fergie - yes as I stated he rebuilt winning teams, 13PL, massive achievement with Aberdeen, never coach only manage + was good at mind games also.
5)Jose - bring Proto through & winning the CL, made Chelsea who they are now always competing, helping Inter win 3 🏆 🏆 🏆 in one season, over coming the best footballing team the world has ever seen in Barcelona,.not only that but getting a 100 points too, managing the worst team he has ever had in Manchester united & still winning 2trophies....hey he had way more against him than Fergie.
The English bias mention Fergie as a great is because it's England duh!!!!
All other manager step out they confront zone & went to the next level Fergie stayed in the UK 🇬🇧 😴
Special mention to Wenger also
He was the one that changed English football & brought discipline to player & made Manger rethink they way is seeing the dieting & sport science behind the game
I agree with the substitute comment..
I go on about this a lot and get a lot of hate but I'll say it here: the fact people call tuchel elite amazes me. Elite is meant for a handful of managers who have done extremely special things. Carlo, pep, klopp, mouriniho, Ferguson, wenger, conte have all done extremely special things and their achievements dwarf tuchels. These are what you call elite a mangers, have done it in different leagues or like Ferguson and wenger had major consistency. Tuchel had a huge amount to prove before being called elite.
By your reckoning would Simeone or Emery by elite? Benitez winning La Liga, would arguably have put him in the elite bracket, especially combined with what he did at Liverpool, but is that enough?
Finally someone with some common sense 👏👏.. I've been saying this since this Tuchel arrived at Chelsea this guy is just overated even Roberto won the champions league.. 1 system Tuchel is just overated this season premiere ligue has proven that . I mean this guy is only 3 points ahead of asernal 🙄🙄🙄
I think their use of the elite is different from the words great or legendary.
Mourinho is one of the greatest managers of the modern era but is now no longer one of the game's elite managers.
What they're saying elite is are managers who will be picked up by the biggest clubs with the biggest checkbooks and who are expected to win every competition they are in.
It's also very Premier League-centric because that's where the best teams and managers are at the moment. It's where managers get paid the most and so a top team in that league is where every manager in the world would want to manage if they could.
great manager...
Think it’s a mental block, when you get to this stage in the CL you need to have the experience and know how to get over the line and Madrid and Liverpool have that
Everton fan here, the guy is a legend.
Pep’s failed at both his last clubs; and when he did win it, he was polishing a very shiny diamond at Barca; I can’t remember was he anything to do with the spending and where they are now? Also, he had Messi, the Tom Brady of football, he showed he could still do it with a different coach too…? Thoughts?
That’s disrespectful to Tom Brady.
@@golddiggaspalace2549 it is meant as the ultimate respect for TB7 putting the win in his hands and not Bill’s :)
@@Plymonk666 i meant comparing someone who performs in big games and clutch situations (Tom Brady) to someone who doesn’t. (Messi)
@@golddiggaspalace2549 ahhh ok, get you now. Why not 100% in agreement; I will go as low as 60% :)
What the final caller said towards the end was right
I forgot which host said it but someone said pep would overthink this one and I fully agreed pep always overthinks at critical times
It has to be
1. Bob Paisley
2. Carlo Ancelotti
3. Alex Ferguson
Top 5 for sure!
He is up there with mourinhno and Ferguson. No doubt
He was brought for champions League.
Man city just won league a year ago when he came
One of the greatest managers of all time
Talk sport
Let us discuss this
The way Pep manage Raheem sterling this season compare to previous seasons in terms of goals and assists ...
Before he (Pep) brought in Jack...
He is the 🐐
How did it work out at Everton and Napoli? Then ran away to a bigger club to win easy. Hardly an achievement lol
If Don Carlo isn’t in your top 3 of all time then you don’t know ball
What a load of shite. Ancelotti is great, of course, but how do you prove he belongs above Lippi, Lattek, Clough, Herrera, Happell, Saachi, Michels, Mourinho, Ferguson, Stein, Trappatoni etc.?
better than paisley, or fergie?
Better than Pep and Klopp.
Ancheotti and mourinho did it everywhere and WON .
Not at all, he left Everton, his team played football poor 6 champion games this year.
All luck bring him to final.
GOAT
It's mental Everton landed him
Only British pundits consider Ferguson to the in the top 3. He's not even in the top 10 for anyone else.
I am an Arsenal fan and will say this, much to the delight of Man Utd fans. First of all, I hate Man Utd, and I enjoy their current plight, I won't lie, having suffered in the late 90s and 00s. But...but I am going to shock Man Utd fans - SAF is the greatest, Ancelotti doesn't even usurp him at all. He can win as many Champs Lge titles, but no where near SAF. SAF built 3 teams, first the Class of 92, then in the mid-00s and then his final team, although the less said about them the better. Ancelotti, he had a ready made team and won trophies with them, maybe Milan is the only team which wasn't ready made and he genuinely built them. But Ancelotti already had a team for him. So not only Ancelotti, but anyone who compares to SAF is wrong. That man built teams and made them winners. So there you have it, debate over.
Completely dismissed the second caller
Top 10 id say
So if Liverpool gets the league does that mean City had a trophyless season and are no better than top 4 hunting UCLless Arsenal?
City have still won multiple league titles however, only the mighty arsenal have won the league unbeaten #INVINCIBLES..whoever you support they aren't invincible
Players come for Money not for the jersey that's the problem.
He’s top 1 for me
I could walk into a club with a ready made squad full of super stars and win a trophy
Why does Cloughie never get a shout-out in these conversations
The English think that they are the best and Real Madrid will teach them a lesson at this seasons Champions League final
I thought that caller made some good points. Their football has incredible physical demands on the players and they looked tired. They are not as fit and their squad is not as deep as Liverpool's
Pep is the best cheque book manager ever, 6 year 1 champs league final ZERO champs league winner medals.... he was brought in to win the CL end of and hes failed every time. He is a cheque book manager who only goes to the super rich clubs to win leagues. Man city are a good team, not great and its nothing to do with tiredness like one caller eluded to. Its due to the fact that Pep tells them how to play, the players have no initiative on how to play as there like robots. Ancelotti is a better manager than Pep ever will be.
He’s clear than saf
Agent Ancelotti's crowning achievement, has been joining forces with Agent Rafa and Agent Lamps...in sending Everton down. Take a bow, son! 👏
How did he send everton down?
If pep was couching Chelsea under roman, he would have been fired long ago despite winning league titles.
Ayo who's dat Marcus guy some lil kid or somethin
In 2020 they probably lost on purpose to Lython to avoid a 7-0 defeat against Bayern in the semis.
Top 5
He managed Everton and look at them now!! So I wouldn’t call him great!
Ferguson managed United and look at them now, so I wouldn't call him great-too.
Pep wasn’t brought to dominate English football city were started to dominate because they won the league with pellegrini and mancini so ??
The subs were correct at the time.
They also would have made no difference to the goals
They won't sack
Guardiola until a better option comes along. Who currently in world football is better than Guardiola???
Nigel Paisley
six League Championships, three League Cups, six Charity Shields, three European Cups, one UEFA Cup and one UEFA Super Cup. BOB Paisley
The last caller was full of crap before it ended
Semi to Monaco???
Mind Begs the Question:

Who Conspired Super League
If win by VAR Mistakes/Favors
Coincidence,Corruption?😂
Not every English club can go to the Bernabeu and win.
Seriously, why doesn't Paisley even make the conversation?
Ferguson, Saachi, Ancelotti
Paisley won 6 Titles, 3 CL's, 1 Uefa Cup, 3 league cups in just 9yrs with LFC. Best British manager ever.
Carlo Ancelotti is the best club manager of all time. You know nothing about football if you believe anything else! The guy is serial winner.
Why is this a question 🤔
"Doesn't matter what he does domestically.. he's [ Pep G. has] failed" Yeah, ok, you all-knowing, all-seeing, all-conquering Arsenal fan, lolol!!!
Real Madrid have no financial restrictions with wages and signing players, do a bit more research simon

It's an utter disgrace that Bob Paisley is not even mentioned
He is no1. best coach! Anceloti had to learn different cultures of football and languages in different countries and won national titles of those countries, in spanish, Geraman, English and Italian, 3 champions leagues countless of finals, two fifa club worldcups, etc, no contest! Ferguson stayed at one club for 20 years won only two champions leagues, speaking one language, we can argue he would struggle elsewhere with a different culture of football and different language! Murinho then Pep then Klopp, my opinion
Laliga is not good this year yet they booted Mancity (champions of the EPL) out of the champions league. Go figure that out Simon !
Arsenal invincibles no question..anyone else have that achievement
