Another reason it's less likely to happen that way is because, despite how terrified everyone is and how they're predicting the crash, there is already an overwhelming amount of demand waiting to absorb it. As I will explain below, this prediction was not made in 2008, at least not by the general public. The other comment states that the ownership rate peaked in 2004. In the second quarter of 2020, we peaked, and now we are at the median level. It decreased by 3% between 2008 and 2012, and by the second quarter of 2020, it had declined from 68 to 65.

Apple back in 2011 was not as stable looking as it is now. I remember Steve Jobs was dying and eventually died. People were screaming that it could be the next Blackberry or Nokia phone collapse and that some innovation would replace it. It didn't look as rosy as it does now. A lot of times the riskiest assets provide the best returns and it is more important to know how much you need to put into a stock or investment that carries risks than it is about how rosy or risky it is. Because risk when it is decreasing in likelihood is where the returns are. Tesla too didn't look that great in 2013 even but it seemed possible and most electric cars had failed. It is about finding the stocks and companies that have depreciating risk. Panemics slowly get less risky. Wars eventually end. But the most appreciation happens when things look the most bleak when they really aren't.

We can get our residency in South America with bank investment and get 8.5% guaranteed. Helps on two fronts, and won't shrink the capital. The reason for no crash (yet):
    1) Cooking the books
    2) Nose dive enough for "pre-war" investors to gobble up low price stocks
    3) Striking everywhere to lower the stocks
    4) Purposely making confusion about the economy
    5) Remember #2 and what is now going on
    6) My prediction is that there will be a crash between August - October 2024

Think outside the box instead. Don't let language or distance become an impediment to your overall happiness and decision to travel further away from your comfort zone back home in the U.S. It's a very BIG world out there, and indeed you have much better and affordable alternatives to Portugal as places to live such as Central America, Southeast Asia (Philippines) and Turkey to explore for much less money which would significantly improve your standard of living as well.

I disagree with this video. This is not the time to put money into the stock market and let it sit for years and years. Those days, and years, are over. The next few years will require investors to become more active and to trade their money from time to time, maybe every few months. You will need to become actively involved or you will get eaten and could go nowhere. That's the new market and new reality we are in and I am hearing this a lot from many prognosticators.

Love your channel! Our government has been lying about all of our economic numbers. We're entering an election cycle as usual. 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆

The market is up because earnings are strong as in GDP. Although interests rates are higher than they have been, they are not high historically.
Only 5 banks failed this year. That’s been the trend for years. The only difference this year is the level of publicity.
In regards to wars, there are several wars going on every year. And the US typically has some level of involvement in them. Nothing new here.
Also, our companies are global. As time goes on US Political and economic factors have less of an impact.
Also, with 401Ks and pension funds, there are trillions essentially locked into the market thus providing support.
