Hello Jummy. I grew up in Omu Aran and Arandun as well. Do you know if these partcular Egungun Festival still exists? I will like to make a documentary on it. They are my childhood memories and culture that must never be allowed to die.

Egun elewe is a popular masquerade attached to igbomina people. I grow up to watch them dancing round the city of Ila Orangun. Hummmm yoruba we have sold our culture. It is well.

Free olele moi-moi nd eko. Foreign Religion jst came nd start its exploitation without offering nothing bt fake vission & prophesy Halleluyah..my pple w hv lose our roots. Im 100% sure dt Oodua Nation will restore d diginity of Yoruba culture.

They are mainly for entertainment. How ever, there are egunguns in many parts of Yoruba land that are used beyond entertainment. Many of them are used in fighting wars, many are used to ward off pandemics, and many more.
I could remember these when l was young, egun elewee ati Akonaa, they are very interesting entertainment which we must not forget mostly in Omuaran.
It was fun running after Paka in those old days...i still long to visit Omuaran soon.
