- Johnny and Milla take to the backroads of the Pacific Northwest again for a 1200 mile impromptu journey. With bootleg .GPX files and trusted classic dualsports (DR350), they traverse desert, mountain, coastline and canyon over an 11 day trip.
We hope this video serves as an inspiration to those who may believe you need a fancy adventure bike or tons of gear to get out there and enjoy some back country riding!
We are not strangers to adventure, however we are learning to document and share our adventures! Any tips and feedback is much appreciated :)

The washboard got old quick on my Harley on NF-23...then last year with my XR650R on a car carrier behing my new sprinter van the handlebar hit the rear window and broke the glass...you guys are traveling the very best way!!! Ask me how I know!!! Lol...

epic long trip for a dual sport, my XT250 saddle is sore just watching it. Great soundtrack. That whole area between Mt Adams and St Helens is wild! Ive explored it for years and just scratched the surface.
Summer 2018 we both had XT225's with not but a sheep skin covering the stock seat. Took those babies from Olympia, WA to Fairbanks, AK :) We try not to ride more than 5 hours a day. Our seats are more comfortable these days!
I picked up motocamping as a father of three. Let’s just say that my journeys aren’t quite this epic. Man what I wouldn’t have done to be in your shoes.
I hope my kids will experience something like this

There are certainly pros and cons to all the paths we could take in life. We're grateful to be able to do little adventures like this. Thanks for the kind words, I hope you can get out for an extended journey soon. I'm trying to convince my dad he's not too old to ride the TAT with me.

What did you use to mount your phone? I was going to go for a RAM x-mount on my DR, but I don't want to kill my camera. It seems like the quadlock with the damper is the only one that is recommended.
Well my camera actually started malfunctioning at the end of our last trip so my solution is probably not great. Until I saw this I didn't even connect the dots. I should probably upgrade this year.

I've wanted this exact bike for these exact reasons.... just saving my pennies. Looks like a great adventure bike. How did it do loaded up on the highway? Congrats and thanks for sharing your adventure!
It's a great all arounder, not much that can go wrong or is complicated to fix.
We both got 16 tooth front sprockets and can cruise 70-75 mph all day just fine, although you won't have any passing power at that speed. We're pretty light. I only weight 150 lbs or so, I think that helps.
I did the 441 cc big bore kit and it doesn't do much to the top speed but gives it some more grunt down low.
4 years back we went all the way to fairbanks on xt225's. This bike is much more stable at freeway speeds and cross winds than those bikes ever were.

I have an old DL1000 (Vstrom) that I tour on, but I'm thinking about a DR350 as a more trail oriented second bike. I also like to use a hammock for motocamping. Do you guys sleep two up in yours? If so, what hammock works for that?
Yeah we used to sleep two up in a few different hammocks. This was the warbonnet flagship hammock I can't remember the model. Great company. We're rocking the tent these days, hammock is a little situational but as we get older (some of us are in our 30's now) it's just too much of a pain. Still love a good hammock camp every now and again though.
