13B turbo Mazda 808 wagon

- The last time we saw Marcos’ Mazda at Calder Park, the wagon had run a best quarter mile time of 11.1 thanks to a turbocharged 13B rotary import engine. Since then Marcos has upgraded the 13B to a later model and more durable S6 spec engine rebuilt by Promaz. Still using the same Garrett turbo and on pump unleaded, a slight boost increase has seen the extend port engine generate 400hp to the wheels.

This is a first for me. Don't ever recall seeing a SW at a dragstrip before. Come to think of it - I don't remember seeing a Mazda 808 before either! Learn something new every day

best run was a 12.2 at 122mph. I wanna have another go and get that 11.9 haha
set of stock FD wheels on the back with MT radials, or even try the toyo R1R... and it will do it easy!

at only 14psi on a 3576? that turbo isn't even working. they need to crank it up to 25psi
The car is only running on pump unleaded at present.
How prone to knock are rotary's Luke? I've never really had much to do with them... I would have thought they were a lot less prone to it, but that's just a guess based on how they operate
Compared to a piston engine, you don't run much ignition timing in a rotary so yeah you can break an engine quickly on low octane fuel. No they don't like knock at all...
