- The Epiphone, Inspired by Gibson, Hummingbird - 6 Month Review. I've had it about 6 months now, and just love it more every day. A complete work of art folks.
I am adding some info that I found out from another comment on a review I saw recently. You may find it as interesting as I did. This made me smile, so here's the brief conversation:

It actually is more or less a bench made, it’s a master built so that means it’s hand built start to finish by one luthier, a lot of folks don’t know that though.

@Steve Bernard I had spoken to some individuals that had ties with Epiphone directly and they told me all about it with it being in the old Sammick factory and how they had set up the sammick location for the masterbilt process and high quality acoustic work cuz we were comparing a Gibson hummingbird to the new masterbilt hummingbird and how they were basically the same minus the fretboard and bridge wood and the type of lacquer being different but still a lacquer none the less, we measured them sonically and they we’re basically identical and then acoustically they were the same other than the minor variances you see from like one Gibson hummingbird to another Gibson hummingbird being that no matter if it’s from one Gibson to another they still would each one not sound exactly like the other but still in the same range sonically with subtle differences.
Update: These IBGs, as of 2023, are now being manufactured in China. Buyer beware. My recommendation is to find a used one with the factory code 23, which is the old Samick factory in Indonesia.

Cool info about the single Luthier building from start to finish. I like it's well balanced sound. I like the loud bassness to my guitar but sometimes it over powers the middle. I really enjoyed listening to you play and offering up your your talents teaching the finkerstyle songs this past year. Here's to listening for many more 🍻

@@folkenbluzer So that also closed the video, as I'm sure you noticed. You likely know already, but that is an old hymn written by William Walford in the mid 1800's. He was blind, but he knew his purpose and fulfilled it. It moves me every time I play it, brother man 👍
@@randysrhythmYes.I noticed. I sometimes add to my comment as a video plays along when I just can't let something go unsaid. I wasn't familiar with the song. I don't imagine that hymn was written on a guitar. I'll have to look more into him if it was. I only made it back to the late late 1800 in my search for the roots to the country/delta blues.

I couldn’t agree more, Don, about the subtle differences. Sometimes I’ll listen to videos with my studio headphones, but most of the time I do it on my phone with AirPods, just as good in my opinion. I've had my Inspired by Gibson Hummingbird in Aged Cherry Sunburst for a week now. It is the best instrument I've ever laid my hands on! Truly unbelievable how good this guitar sounds for the price. So I received my new IBG Hummingbird and case this past week and I love it. Playability and sound/tone is exceptional. I did have Sweetwater setup done prior to shipping for my playing style. The Epiphone case is nice.

Thanks for the original video on this IBG Hummingbird and also for this follow up video. I had hand surgery on my fretting hand 40+ years ago and never thought that I would play the guitar again in my lifetime. Your videos and a couple of other reviewers on YT inspired me to give it a try again. My new IBG Hummingbird will arrive tomorrow and I’m very excited to get my hands on it. Love your channel and you really are a fantastic musician. Thanks again for the inspiration. I guess that at age 61 I can give up any ideas of becoming a rock star lol, but I think that I will really enjoy playing just for my own pleasure and for my wife.

I have this very guitar. Kind of wishing I had purchased the SJ200. But I really like the Hummingbird's looks.
I doubt you’ll ever regret that choice. I had mine out over the weekend and just sat there amazed at how beautiful it sounds. Glad you were able to pick one up 👍🏻

Randy: these are great guitars. Unfortunately I sold the one I had but also have the Inspired by Gibson J45. Great build quality and sound. I agree, the value is amazing.
As you say, look for the orange label. I ran into someone who changed out the truss rod cover to Gibson and listed a standard Epiphone hummingbird as an “Inspired By” but I knew better.
You are probably correct on the wood thickness because they are a bit heavy but regardless a very nice line of guitars. Thank you and Merry Christmas.

I also got the Hummingbird inspired by Gibson/ but discovered it was made in China - it plays well - but it is very light - I may send it back/ it is nothing like the J- 45 like yours /
I did get the cases and got the Humidity packs

Thank you, JM! I had to adjust the neck a little on mine. I also replaced the bridge pins with ebony. Once that was done, it played like butter 👍🏻
look into the soundhole and look for the vertical small ladder braces all along the in side of the sides. This identifies guitars with solid back/sides or in this case that its the inspired model! mine got better daily too. amazing guitars. Alvarez MD60BG also folks!

I have been picking a Epiphone masterbilt model AJ500 M for over seven years now and have tried many different strings and have to say that the only strings that work for this guitar are the Elixir polyweb light gauge 12-53 thought I would try a new set of phosphor bronze this past Saturday but took them off after about five min. of picking and went back to the polywebs . From the Blue ridge mountains saying Thanks for another good video.

I have an Epi Hummingbird I bot used back in 2012 used for $150.00. I updated the nut and the bridge, and to this day I play the snot out of it. I have all had kinds of Martins and Taylors but I always go back to this Bird - I love the 25.5" neck, which I prefer over the shorter neck on this one else I would have bought it...

I love your vids man, I have the Inspired bird, the only complaint on mine which is totally nothing to gripe about, is that my top is a darker look less even burst, I have thought about getting the J-45 but wasn't sure if I'd find much difference between my bird and it, both being hog bodies and spruce tops, but I know that shoulder cut would make a little difference. I'm just rambling, but again love your videos.
You’re too kind, brother man. I was going to pick up the 45, but now, likely won’t. It sounds pretty good and with a small punch, but since I know from previous buys that the Gibson version is is just way superior, I’ll likely pick up the 50’s Gibson J-45. The IBG Hummingbird will always be my “go to” square shoulder dred. The slope shoulder IBG 45 is not bad for the money though. Ya, these are really awesome guitars, I almost bought one a few months back but my sister needed a hand so I lent her some money and the guitar was sold. I may still get one, I'm still thinking about getting a Yamaha FG365S which I used to own, it was a shameless copy of a Martin D34 and a really, REALLY awesome guitar!
I also love the Epiphone masterbilt J 200!! I AM a confirmed life-long Elvis fan!! Of course he had two Gibson J 200s. His first one got stepped on by someone with a wee bit too many wobbly pops in his belly!! Imagine being THAT GUY!!
My first good acoustic was a FG365S and I stupidly sold it when I was 15 (I'm close to 62 today) and came to really regret it. They're a little hard to find and they're going North every time I find one!!
I do have a very, very nice Yamaha FG 340 in rare black, and whoever built this hand made guitar was having a GREAT DAY! I've owned another one and played a few other and they're a really nice solid lower to mid level guitar and anyone who be glad to own one. But this one is an exceptional build that never goes out of tune, just a great guitar that I've played live and in studio many times!! I love it and will NEVER sell or trade her!! I named her "Sally G" after the great McCartney country tune!!
My Excellente is "Betty B" after the most awesome Old English Bulldogg I ever owned!! I lost her a year ago this past December and it still stings!! I'll see her in Heaven along with a bunch of other great dogs!! ")
Here's a bit of a warning for people who might be thinking of buying off E-Bay or one of the other on-line merchants.
I paid $2,000 including taxes for my Excellente in Canada. I saw some on E-Bay and could have saved about $600 to $700 after shipping had I bought one there. The problem is, I know there were a limited number of these guitars built, and there were quite a few "new" Excellentes available on E-Bay.
Red Flag!! DING! DING! DING! Ya, you are taking a huge risk of buying a copy/fake on these platforms from China. They are notorious for this and have been for many years! They used to be pretty easy to spot but they have become EXPERT at building and copying all the expensive models.
They're also building some solid quality guitars, both electric and acoustic under their own weird label names which are very cheap and if you know what you're doing you can find some really, really high quality guitars cheap!!
If you don't know what you're doing, I would not advise it, in the very least get someone who does know what they're doing to look over whatever you're after and you can get a great deal.
But as far as the high dollar guitars, I would not take a chance unless you know the seller, and they're in YOUR country! Preferably not China!!
I've always dealt with the small family owned and operated music shop in my small lakeside town, Connors Music in Keswick ON Canada and was more than willing to spend the extra money knowing it came right from Epiphone and has a lifetime warranty as well as a year free set up at Connors. I do my own set up, but it's a great deal if you're not sure about set-ups, or are busy.

I have one Chinese built guitar coming my was in a month or so and it’s the Recording King RD 328. The design came out of San Francisco, so hopefully it’ll be all that I hear it is.
I’m also going to review a Gibson 50’s J-45, which should arrive week after next. I’m really looking forward to that one, since I sold all of my other Gibson acoustics, which made my list of stupid decisions to sell! It has been a pleasure getting to know you, Jack. Man. Thank you @Randy's Rhythm. I have been looking at The Hummingbird (Epiphone) the last month; I have an Epiphone Masterbilt Texan, so I have been debating if I need this hummingbird or not, but this tempts me closer to hitting that "Add to cart" button.

Its funny how you joked about the neck , mine did come off because of how thin the neck was at the nut! The repair was more than the guitar, or almost. But I did love the sound and got used to it so much that I ordered another one, I just had to have it. If it works out like the first one, I'll just pat myself on the back and say,"good boy", and play the heck out of it. Way better sound than my Taylor with more volume and warmer. They sent me a guitar with high action and when messured one would have to take so much of the saddle to be playable....they sent a replacement and when messured it was the same as the first...sent them both back....then I was told that they were both within speck!!! Unbelieveable! Talk about a turn off. I've been playing for over 40 years. So, you can understand my fustration.

I have to mention the part of your clip where you mentioned 'weight'. I often go from one guitar to another, as you would imagine, ie, I practice on one guitar and then another guitar, and I do notice the difference in weight between each. Does the weight of a guitar determine the 'sound quality' . . . . 🤷🏻♂

Great review. I just received my Epi IBG Hummingbird today and it's everything you said it was . I love it so far. It has a great tone and super easy to play. Other reviews have recommended that the strings be changed to Elixer. I think the factory strings are Gibson Phosor Bronze but I'm not sure. To me, they sound great. What is your opinion on this? Do you still have the factory strings on yours? Thanks again
Hey Duaine, I’m really glad to hear that you are happy with it. I was okay with the Gibson strings, but I normally use Martin Retro 12s, so I did replace them. I really appreciate the feedback here, brother man 👍🏻
I bought the J200 and the sound varies with the strings I use. From a rich loud sound to a thinner sound with light strings 11-52. With light strings the action gets lower and faster but at the expense of low bass, dynamic and projection. I'm looking for better and more adapted strings. Presently using 11-52 D'addario XS Phosphor Bronze. Also have their 12-53 (not used yet). I usually use Elexir Nanoweb 12-53 Bronze. More rounded sound and more solid bass on my other guitar.

@@randysrhythm My present strings do not satisfy me (XS 11-52). I will go back to the Nanoweb but using 11-52 to keep the action fast and low. The J200 is new. I know I have to by patient. Playing it will change it's performance. The wood needs to vibrate and the fibers will tighten as my other guitars did. My oldest one has 55 years of playing and sounds beautiful. :)

Hi Sandy, I did immediately change the strings to Martin Retro 12s, which is all I use on my acoustics. Those are pre-war design. I tweaked the neck slightly, as there was a touch more relief than I was comfortable with. It was fine when I got it, but I couldn’t resist perfection. I've seen a bunch of reviews on this and other epiphone guitars and it seems that the main differences that actually have an effect on the sound are the thickness of the pickguard and the thickness of the slabs of wood themselves, all thay have to do is reduce their thicknesses to have that gibson sound, of course the care and time that a luthier puts on a gibson to voice it will be always better than a machine, but if this is something so noticeable about the guitars, maybe that's where to look so that we can all have access to a great guitar for that price! instead of being pushed back by a logo. I wish there was a luthier on youtube that could do a comparison like that, like the guy that cuts guitars open
Hey there brother man, these IBG guitars have one luthier assigned to each one. I discovered that quite by accident. They are also built in the custom shop, the old Samick factory, which explains why they sound so good. In fact, Gibson engineers actually went to Indonesia to oversee and train the luthiers on the building process. They are tanks, for sure. That said, $850.00 later, all I can say is wow. I had a few conversations with Gibson before purchasing one. To your point, I’ll eventually remove the pickguard. I’m in complete agreement with you about that. As you eluded to, the weight is a minus, but certainly worth it. You said it best at the end, folks get hung up on the brand, which we both know causes many to overlook a gem from time to time. Was new to your channel and was so taken w this video that I called up a guy ive dealt w over at Guitarcenter here in Denver for a long time and he was able to get this guitar for me, and sent to the store. He tells me this has been the only Hummingbird in the aged cherry hes been able to get, the only other one, just 1, was the translucent one.
So i bought the guitar, and i am amazed too at the sound, tone, and your review, spot on. I was expecting it to be a bit wider than it actually is, but wow, what a guitar. Im a pretty good customer at this store, ive been buying guitars and gear there for years, so gave me a great deal, just a little over 800 out the door.
Randy the only thing id like to do, is have the action brought down lower to the fret board. Can you tell me how i can lower the action? Im no tech, or anything close, especially adjustments to an acoustic. Can i use the truss rod to bring the strings down, or does it need to be done at the nutt or bridge? If so do, or would they have to shave it down to get that lower action i like?
Other that, i am so exciting to have this guitar, i havent played any acoustics in years, and already love this guitar, and i cant thank you enuf, love your channel, and appreciate what youve done here...... Michael
Hi Michael, what a kind thing to say about the channel and I surely do appreciate it. I’m glad you were able to find one. As far as lowering the action, I’d call your guy at the guitar shop and ask him to find you a local luthier. If he’s not one, he’ll know one. It’ll likely cost under $100.00. Just tell them to go over it with a fine toothed comb, careful to mention the action you would like to see. I’d walk you through how to do it, but you really need the right tools and he’ll have them. Let me know how it turns out for you and again, very much appreciate having you on the channel, brother man 👍🏻
Hows this guitar or the hummingbird studio compare to Guild 260ce, they have very similar build and electronic?
Hi Julio, I can’t speak to the Guild. However, this guitar is all solid woods and I’d suspect superior in every way. I’ve never played a guitar under a thousand dollars that could hold a candle to it, brother man 👍🏻

They do sound great. Not good, but great. I picked one up recently and not t gonna lie it took some work to get up to what I want it to be. The bridge saddle was too low. Notes were choking out on all strings from the 12th to the 14th whether it was 11 gauge, 12 or 13 strings. So that indicates bridge height. I raised it up 1 credit card thickness, it helped a bit, I wasted 2 sets of strings, expensive strings, broke a G string (go figure it wasn't even an E). Today, I jumped a few gauges with 13s raised it up one more credit card, used Super Glue to glue the shims and what a tone. Opened it right up and the tome is very distinctly Gibson. Overtones, it has this chime to the notes. It sounds Gibson. Incredible. I saw a video of Travis Trit, I think it was a Gibson Doc he was playing a Jumbo Acoustic crazy finger picking, this guitar has that tone. It kind of blows my mind looking at everything, the bracing inside, the scalloping of the bracing, the wood, the same umd hole, it all comes together to output this tone from wood and steel strings. It is a natural tone, but it isn't a simple tone. There's dimension it's like the construction of it is an eq processor.
With that, I can see I need to straighten the neck out, which should also lower the action a bit and SHOULD be really good. Should be excellent.
Apparently they're built at a Samik factory. I remember when I was trying to teach myself guitar in the 90's my aunt was jamming with the dude, he was kind of a folky hippy. I was playing an Epiphone Special II. They show up, he's got this Samik Hollow body electric. An ES copy, a smaller one. Nice cherry Sunburst, binding on the neck and body, to humbuckers. He just bought it. Gets me to play it, I played some grunge on it and it blew my mind. It was so cool. Felt so good, sounded so good, played great. $400! It ain't a bad thing if Samik (sp?) is building these. Gibson spec.

I just bought a used Hummingbird guitar. But I got the old style. The eletric stuff is on the out side. a lot easer to change the battires.
Hi Gerry, I’m just not a fan of active pickups. However, if I had one that I used, I’d definitely want the battery in a compartment on the outside. I’ll end up taking the electronics out of this one 👍🏻
Yeah. I,m all about keeping it simple. That is why I did not buy the new Bird. When I saw this one. I jumped. I paid 300.00 bucks and she was in good condition.

Hi Todd, you’d think so, but oddly enough, no. It’s actually quite comfortable with fingerstyle. I haven’t checked the string spacing, but I am guessing that is the answer.

Hi Mona, you are very welcome. I do still have the Excellente. If you are a daily player, then I would get the Hummingbird. I love both of them and they are both great guitars, first and foremost. That said, the Hummingbird has the Mahogany back and sides, which has a more multipurpose use, musically, in my opinion. I am so careful with the Excellente that I’m sometimes concerned to get it out, because I may knock it over, scratch it, etc., because it is so beautiful. The Excellente sounds fantastic, but softer, since it has Ovankal, at least in my opinion. I hope this helps 👍🏻

In years and years of searching for the great hummingbird sound alternative without the price tag I tried a few things... currently i have an early 70's ibanez concord which is really good quite frankly but ... 25.5 scale length and i play old mustangs, silvertone 1449 etc : i'm a short scale guy. I just like the comfort AND the way the strings react. (which is never mentioned anywhere but makes a lot of difference in your style of playing)
Would this epiphone match (beat) the sound quality of the ibanez concord but with the correct scale length ? I love the ibanez even though i think its' laminated. It happens to have that sound we're all looking for but i find myself tuning it down and playing with a capo all the time...

Hi Fabio, this is a 24.72” scale length. I’m sure the Alvarez is great, as they tend to really sing, especially the older ones. I’ll simply say this, I’ve never heard another guitar that impressed me to this degree, especially when you consider what you’re getting for the buck. This guitar sounds like a high end Gibson Hummingbird. I haven’t spoken with one person that has this, that isn’t beyond blown away. I haven’t heard your Alvarez, so it’s hard to know for sure. What I'll say on your first comment is that while the Excellente is an incredible guitar, if you're planning to really play the guitar out, or play it daily, I'm not so sure I wouldn't go with the IBG Hummingbird. However, they are both stunning, brother man 👍

You mentioned you changed your bridge pins to ebony. Which ones did you buy? I’m trying to determine the size of the bridge pins so I can order them. Also, why ebony over Tusq (like the Gibson hummingbirds come with).

Hi Bruce, that’s pretty wild. I just bought some 5 degree ebony and the fit perfectly. You can find them on Reverb, or the likes of Sweetwater. I doubt there’s a dime’s difference in any of them. Just to be clear, the 5th & 6th numbers in your serial number is 23, right?

This is my first all solid wood guitar it seems like if I store it in a case with humidifier packs and then play it it sounds dull but if I leave it out for a day or two on the couch it sounds much better. I’m hoping the ebony pins will allow it to open up more, give it some more overtones. What did it do for you?
Hi Bruce, sorry for double checking the serial number, but I get a lot of emails and comments about an issue on these only to discover they have the Hummingbird Pro.
I haven’t heard of that issue before with volume. The pins will make a difference, but it won’t be significant. However, I’m pretty confident that in time it’ll open up for you. If it plays well, then I’d surely give it a few more months of playing it in. Let me know if it does open up or not. If not, I’d consider sending it back and ordering another one.
This was a great review! I was wondering what the difference was between this guitar and the pro and studio versions. Great playing as well! What is the first riff in the video? Is it your own creation or something else? I absolutely love it.

As far as the riff goes, I thought it was an original, but someone in the comments said it was one of John Prine’s songs. Epiphone guitars made in Indonesia come with either a red label or a blue label.
You seem to indicate that only red labelled Epiphones are better made and sound better than the blue labelled ones.
Please clarify.
Hi Richard, I can see where you might interpret it that way, but that’s not exactly accurate. It’s the factory code that causes me to give an Epiphone a chance. The Indonesian custom shop code is 23. That will encourage me to give it a chance. For example, the Excellente is a blue label, code 23, and is off the charts great. The IBG acoustics are orange labels, code 23 and they are just killer guitars. The Epiphone Inspired by Texan, I have come to understand, is a blue label, code 23, and I seriously dislike it. Does that help?

I can't remember if I mentioned it in the video, but I've owned 2 J-45s. One was the Regal and the other was the Standard. I loved both of them and couldn't agree more with you. Hi Damien, I just looked up the Takamine and that particular guitar has laminated back and sides. I honestly think this Epiphone is a mile above the Takamine in every way. I’m sure the Takamine is a fine instrument, but it lacks some of more quality details that you would want in a player’s guitar. I hope this helps. The saddle and nut are bone and they are original. I replaced the bridge pins with ebony. Does that answer everything? I really appreciate the questions and hope you have a great weekend 👍🏻
A lot, but not all, of the J-200 (Inspired By Gibson) that people didn't like were the cut-away versions. But like I tell everyone, if you can, play the guitar before you purchase it.
I've played Martin guitars, in music stores, that didn't all sound good. Out of 4 or 5 D-28 guitars, 2 were outstanding and the others were just Ok. So play before you buy.

Couldn't agree more, David. When I spoke about the cutaways, that was intended only for the IBG 45s (JP said he didn't care for the sound on those). The IBG J-200 has not released a cutaway version. That was the puzzling thing to me about why there are so many mixed reviews. That said, try before you buy is surely the right road, if possible. To date, I have never seen an IBG J-200 in a store. I see loads of Epiphone J-200s (the sound was pretty good too) and even played a few, but not the IBG J-200. I'd love to play one, so hopefully I'll catch a store soon that has one in stock.
By the way, I just got another mid 50's Silvertone in today 🤣. It's original ladder bracing is still in tact. I'll open it tomorrow, after it acclimates to the climate here, as it came from way up north. I also have another Baxendale coming in from a guy in California. I can't wait to get that one. That's right, they only had a cut away for the J45. My guess is that it's because it doesn't really sound like what you would expect. It doesn't sound like the Gibson version to my ear. I never liked the sound of the actual j200 by Gibson.. but that's why I like it, I think. It has a bit more base than the Gibson J200's that I've heard.
And i can't wait to see and hear your new guitar.

If it wouldn't be so scary to send a guitar through the mail, I would send you Noah's J-200 to try out. That way you know before you buy. But I've seen and heard horror stories about shipping guitars...lol... You have great content and are a good man Randy. Looking forward to seeing your next video.

Hi Ms Natalie, yes ma’am I would, as long as they are an adult. The issue most people run into when they first start out learning to play is the guitar they choose. In other words, they wonder if they are serious about it, or just a passing interest, if that makes sense? Therefore, they tend to not spend more than a couple of hundred dollars, max. The problem is that those guitars are very cheaply made and hard to fret, which is very discouraging to the beginner, and they think all guitars are like that, so they quit after a few weeks and give up. This is the main reason most people quit. The guitar I’m playing is a dream come true for under a thousand dollars and frets like a dream. If you elect to get this one for them, be absolutely sure you are purchasing a “Inspired by Gibson Hummingbird” as Epiphone has other Hummingbird models. I hope this helps. There seems to be a lot of compression when you dig in. It sounds more like the quality of the recording than it does the guitar but wonder if anyone knows for sure. It's not a great sound, if that's the guitar.

All of a sudden stumbled onto the inspired by and masterbuilts and am more confused than ever as to what is best choice for around $1000. Thinking the Excellente is the best choice? What say you?
Hi Ed, it’s a great question. I did a comparison between these 2 a few videos back, where I deep dive into that. It depends on whether or not you stand or sit when you play. Purely from a build standpoint, the Excellente is the one. However the Hummingbird is a killer guitar and not quite as heavy. I’d recommend you watch that video. I’m not trying to get another view on it, but it may help in addition to this response. Really pleased to see you on the channel and hope this helps you out, brother man 👍🏻

My biggest block into pulling the trigger on the Excellente is it is so ornate and much more “bling” than I am used to. I mean the pick-guard alone is really large and ornate. So…not sure if I can overcome that obstacle or not ?!

@@pooner61 The Taylors are really nice guitars. The V class bracing is just something I could not get used to. No doubt they are quality guitars though.

I'm curious about the weight of these guitars. Most acoustic guitars are about 4 or 5 lbs. How much more is this?
Just so you know, I did try to weigh it, but my scales wouldn't recognize it. So, you're left with my guess, as Epiphone specs tend to leave that little detail out. I'd say 7 to 8 lbs. It's not uncomfortable for lap or strap, but you do notice it. Sorry I couldn't get the scales to register, but I just have the typical store bought, digital weight scales and they just don't work for your average guitar. I'll tell you this, I'm considering ordering another one, so it's not really a deterrent, in my opinion and worth picking one up for sure.
Hi. I have recently bought an IBG Hummingbird (natural antique) and weighted it on a kitchen scale. My bird is 2.52 kg - 5 lbs and 9 oz. I did some research on Sweetwater and see IBG Hb from are typically between 5 lbs 1 oz to 5 lbs 10 oz ( so mine is rather heavier). Also what I got to see, that newer ones from Chinese factories are rather lighter (4 lbs 14 oz to 5 lbs 2 oz). It can be like that partially because of the fact that Chinese ones don't have no side bracing

@@randysrhythm A folk from Facebook group dedicated to Epiphone Masterbilt and IBG bought chinese HB ( manufacture code "15") and said it is flawless and He mentioned that the only difference to Indonesian ones is this side wall bracing.
